I like that this place is peaceful and we can enjoy good food quietly like we're meditating . My kids love to eat here for delicious sushi & I hope that they'll always have a sushi chef , that would be really nice .

Kamameishi House offers an exceptional dining experience with its delightful fusion of Japanese cuisine, showcasing the perfect balance of flavors and textures. The restaurant's ambiance is warm and authentic, providing a serene setting for enjoying delicious meals with friends and family. The staff at Kamameishi House are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, ensuring a great dining experience for every guest. Each dish served at Kamameishi House is fresh, I had two rolls, while the family had the Gianaku I believe, which came out on a sizzling plate.Whether you're a sushi aficionado or new to Japanese cuisine, Kamameishi House is a good choice for anyone seeking quick and easy Japanese food.

Food & service was great! Everything was delicious from the fresh sashimi, beef teriyaki.. even down to the miso. Soba noodles were on the menu which is my boyfriends favorite Japanese dish that most restaurants don’t have. Highly recommend.

Food is amazing. No sushi at the moment because they are looking for a new chef, but the bento boxes were great and the prices are fair. Service is good and friendly, nice, quiet, and cozy place to enjoy good Japanese food. Seats are wooden bench with single cushion for padding (in case you or whoever you are bringing has pain with little seat cushioning). Next time you are looking for a good bento box or tasty Japanese dish, give this place a try. Well worth it.

The servers were friendly. One waitress was especially friendly because she clarified with us what our order was before sending the order to the kitchen. As for the food, it was delicious and flavorful in general, so I have no complaints about it. However, the service has way for improvement. The waiters made two mistakes which could've been avoided: 1) They got our order wrong. We had three people ordering bento boxes and one person didn't want salmon, but the kitchen misunderstood this as all three people not wanting salmon. This could have been avoided if the waiters make sure the request is communicated clearly. As a result, we purchased a dish of salmon.2) We ordered Hamachi Kama (a fish dish). Upon close inspection, after cutting the fish open for consumption, we found that it was pink inside, indicating that it was raw. As a result, we paid for another Hamachi Kama dish.Overall, I would give this restaurant 4 stars because there is no issue with the food experience, but the ordering process could be improved, since it caused inconvenience for both the customers and the employees. I would still come back, though :D

Decent food and friendly staff. A bit on the pricy side but they have a nice menu with many options.

Very cute place, service was fine, restroom was pretty clean. We really liked the decor. The food just wasn't there for me. They don't have a sushi chef on staff at the moment and that can't really be helped, but I expected better of their other fare. The chicken karaage was strangely flavourless. I don't want to complain about something not being greasy per se, but it felt like what I was eating had been baked, not fried. The wife thought it might be white meat. She ultimately decided she was okay with it; I couldn't get over how utterly bland it was.The sake kamameshi rice had great presentation, but what we found when we removed the lid was just bizarre. The fish had been smoked and the flavour of it completely overpowered the flavour of the salmon. The rice was brown and mushy. Overall, it was too salty and they used a sweet sauce of some kind that left my brain screaming that I was eating pork, not fish. The yaki udon was good, but it couldn't make up for the rest IMO.

The food has been good for the past few years though people close to me complained that the portions are getting smallerService is quick and timelyDoesn't feel that small but there is that feeling

Continued disappointment in Daly City. Decor wise it's ok. However this place is dead. There is no heart in trying to be a Japanese restaurant. No traditional greeting. I'd guess the hostess/owner up front didn't care much about her job. For $20 the dish was very poorly plated. Pork katsu was still moist but was drowning in the curry. Actually it probably doesn't even have much of a hint of curry. Even my mom's curry - she uses a an eight of a brick for the whole pot. This basically had a pinch of curry for the 2 whole pots worth. At least they didn't skimp on the salt. I think they were trying the puree style but used a 100wat blender. It had the consistency of coleslaw. This place needs Gordon Ramsey.

April 4, 2023 - For our every 3months getogether, my good friend & I had a wonderful lunch @ this restaurant, Kamameshi, up on City Heights, Daly City. The food was good, the sashimis fresh. The servings were ample. The ambiance was kuhl, place was nicely setup & very clean. Most of all, the restaurant is lucky to have KAT, who was very amiable, helpful, good natured & just the right one for the position she has. Because of KAT we will return to this Japanese place again.

Our experience started off great - love the cozy, authentic ambience here. We were immediately seated into one of the booths that comes with pillow cushions to sit on. We decided to start off with a large hot sake and an Exotic Roll to share. The roll was delicious - topped with red snapper but stuffed with tempura, it was the perfect blend of buttery fatness with an opposing crunch in every bit. For our mains, my husband got a chicken katsu bento box while I opted for the tempura udon. This is where the meal ended up being disappointing for me. They brought out my udon with my two pieces of shrimp tempura IN the bowl of soup. Why anyone would do this is beyond me - the tempura just becomes a soggy mess and not pleasant to eat. Always, always leave the tempura on the side. This was enough for me to take two stars off my review. Outside of this, the dish itself was ok, but not like any other udon soup I've ever had. The noodles they use here is different and the flavor of the broth is also different. Not bad, just different. The plating of my husband's bento box was pretty but the katsu was really dry. Overall, a miss for us.
