“The Mustard Seed continues to be a reliable, well-run go-to restaurant. The food is good, the ambiance quiet and refined, and the service excellent. The only slightly negative comment I can make is that red meat dominated the short entree menu. It would be nice to have a greater choice. We had an excellent Apple Current Tart desert. Our highest recommendation for the Mustard Seed.“
“I ordered catering from Tommy J's for an event, and they were so easy to work with! They were very responsive and worked with a wide array or dietary needs. Everyone loved the lasagna's from the catering menu (we had one of each kind), the garlic bread was delicious and the portions were great. They included all of the utensils needed to serve the food as well. The vegans loved the Beet sliders too. Thank you for a successful dinner menu!“
“Met up for a work dinner, atmosphere he was awesome. Place was pretty busy so service was slow, but the staff was extremely kind and professional. Food was good. I will definitely go back to try other things. Everything on the menu sounded amazing.“
“One of the first new cafés in the downtown Davis area this place has been there for a while with an even more expanded menu and attached to a hotel that's on the corner now. The space is a bit more tidy and streamlined. The menu is even more expanded, which is great as I didn't realize my favorite Thai noodle salad is still on the menu (the only thing i used to order over and over). You come in order at the counter and get a number and take it to your table. There are plenty of servers coming by to check on whether you need anything or water which was nice, I happened to be here for a breakfast, and it was very hard to decide what to get so many things a great-I got a very basic breakfast, but everything was done just right.“
“As always, the staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. The food was very flavorful. I was looking forward to the Nicoise salad with the tofu steak, which I had had last time, but alas, it was no longer on the menu. But I ordered the Fattoush and added the tofu steak and it was delicious. While the wine menu for glasses only is a bit limited, we did enjoy the wine we ordered. Thank you!“
“This spot is definitely the best pub food in the area. There are many options for delicious burgers and sandwiches on the menu. I tried the beer cheese burger and shrimp po boy. Beer cheese burger: B Honestly I thought the burger tasted fantastic. Juicy patty smothered with a ton of tasty cheese, plus a sausage on it. The only problem is it's a mess to eat and there was too much moisture so the bun got soggy. Shrimp po boy: B+ This was a great sandwich, well balanced with flavor and texture. The popcorn shrimp taste great by itself and the rest of the sandwich is soft so it's easy to bite into. Fries: B+ Great texture and crispy exterior, salted well. A little too greasy for my preference so I can't eat the entire portion they give.“
“A place that sells two beers for $9? That's a pretty good deal for downtown Davis. The options are limited, but the variety aren't bad. During happy hours, a side of fries only cost $1.50 as well. It's definitely not the best food, but it'll satisfy your need for beer after a long day without wrecking your wallet. Because it is so friendly for your wallet, I'd give this place a solid 4 stars. Cheers!“
“Really cozy atmosphere with a cabin-like feel. There can be quite a bit of wait (up to two hours) on weekends so plan accordingly. Has all the classic American foods. The servers are all super nice and accommodating, but during busy times they can get caught up in the chaos so you’ll need to be patient.“
“Great battered fries, friendly service, nice juicy burger! Swap the sesame bun for a brioche bun and you'd have a killer burger. Bathroom was clean, but could use hooks for purse / jacket. Bar environment inside, with outdoor seating at lunch tables with space heaters.“
