“Update 3/2024: they changed their mushroom polenta crostini to Polenta Crostini with Ragu. While I get the chef is an Italian chef, this isn’t an Italian restaurant. While it was good, won’t be re-ordering something I used to always order. Won’t remove a star for it as everything else was still on point. Please bring back the original polenta. Speghetti sauce & not formed polenta ruins it.12/2023:511 has always been my fave restaurant here. Went there tonight and had the best food ever. It’s always been great but this was so so good. It was on point, delicious and what I kept referring to as a “foodgasm”. Food was so good that I only remembered to take pics of the main course. Forgot the appetizer & deserts. Their drinks are perfect although there’s usually a long wait to get a drink there for some reason. The Chocolate & Espresso pot de créme desert needs to stay on the menu. It was heavenly. The Bananas Fosters” Cake– Brûléed had a bit of crispiness on the top which took it up a few notches above any others I’ve ever tried. Nice touch.Appetizer (a repeat that I always get):POLENTA CROSTINI – Shiitake mushroom marsala, parmesan, herbsEntree:WOODFIRED FILET MIGNON (8oz) – Black truffle compound butter, crispy phyllo potatoes, broccolini & butter braised leeks, demi-glaceEntree:GRILLED STEELHEAD – Lobster risotto, grilled asparagus, beurre blanc 38Deserts:Chocolate & Espresso pot de créme– Cinnamon whipped cream“Bananas Fosters” Cake– Brûléed, vanilla ice cream, spiced rum caramel“
“Incredible food with excellent staff in a gorgeous Victorian building. Maybe the best clam chowder I’ve had! Delicious kunomoto ousters, crav cakes, scallops, double stuffed potato and chocolate pecan tort for dessert. Absolutely recommend!!“
“Came in here for a late night snack yesterday. I tried the fisherman sandwich. Big cuts of fried juicy fish topped with homemade coleslaw with a side of potatoe salad (the best potato salad around) and my boyfriend got the hot corned beef sandwich with extra pickles and garlic French fries. Everything was amazing. Huge portions but very tasty. Service was friendly and timely. The kitchen had our food out within 10 minutes too.“
“Fantastic restaurant with great service and friendly people. It was busy when I arrived, but despite that, my food came out quickly. I ordered the taco salad, which was both generously portioned and delicious. It came in a crispy shell and had generous amounts of ground beef and other toppings. The restaurant itself was very clean despite how busy it was, there were staff members constantly cleaning and bussing tables to keep the place running. Lots of parking as well, and easy to access the lot.“
“Great restaurant and lovely bar too. The food can be on the heavy side but it’s a place to go when you want to live it up.That said they do have some great small plates and you can’t miss the bread and herbed oil sauce - it’s another level of delicious. And yes it’s just bread and herbs and olive oil but hot dang it is done superbly. Don’t snooze on this.Love coming here - highly recommend.“
“Lovely Inn, staff and service is excellent. Love the lobby sitting area with fireplace and restaurant 301. Very welcoming. Nice rooms, bathrooms a little on the small side but functional. Walk in shower would be better. We will be staying again in a few weeks on our return trip back.“
“While most restaurants in Humboldt lack finesse and the casual assumption of 'foodie'ness of the Bay Area, this one has a deft kitchen, comfortable and friendly atmosphere, and generous in good ways. Plus a sunset view on those rare clear evenings from the wine bar. And it's NOT in the Bay Area--an excellent choice for homies and visitors. Vegan/vegetarian specials too.“
“I’m very confused why there aren’t more people eating here. I’ve only had the dinner, but it’s all good! Certain dishes are stronger than others, but there isn’t anything really bad. The atmosphere was quiet as there were only two other tables, but nothing bad.“
“Nothing fancy but very good food and a nice place to eat it. There's often a bit of a wait to get your order but it's hot and tasty when you get it and you can check out some of the exhibits while you wait. Don't forget, zoo memberships get you a discount on food! Also, it's right near the entrance so it's easy to go to the zoo just for a meal.Vegetarian options: They make a good garden burger and you can get salad instead of French fries.Kid-friendliness: Standard kids menu but with particularly good chicken strips.“
“Fave coffee and brunch joint. My pardner and I visit here for fantastic espresso, lattes, macaroons and sometimes breakfasts when family visits. The staff are absolutely lovely.Vegetarian options: There are several, clearly marked vegetarian options including a tempeh poh-boy.Dietary restrictions: There are gluten and dairy free options. Staff is knowledgeable about dietary restrictions.“
“What a DELICIOUS meal. ONIONRINGS golden brown, crisp bracelet sized !WOW !!The burgers done perfectly lettuce tomato pickle fresh crisp so good. FATHER & SON TEAM WINNING THANK YOU SI VERY MUCHKid-friendliness: Welcoming and lots of room“
“For what it is, definitely the best steak joint in its class. I had, two steaks there on two separate occasions. Absolutely fantastic, and I worked at Ruth's Chris... If you are looking for good steak, without the markup of a fancy atmosphere. This is it.... Also do yourself a solid, try to gorgonzola butter...Five stars in all categories take into consideration the type of place this is... This is not an upscale spot, this is a dive, with better steaks than most upscale joints I've been to.“
“Love it!! Great music, friendly, chill vibe l. I really got taken in to the music. Welcoming to all ages. I think it's important to expose my kids to live music and this was a safe place to enjoy myself while my youngsters get to see what it's all about with live bands“
“The lady at the front desk was very informative of the area and had it if good pointers on food as well. She said she was from Michigan and I can believe it with her charming personality. The rooms were clean and the showers were sparking . We will stay there again if we are in town.“
“Calamari was great perfectly cooked with a great fresh flavor. The coconut shrimp was perfectly deep fried with deep fried coconut flakes on it along with an amazing sweet chili sauce. The oysters had a subtle smokey flavor with a rich and tangy aioli sauce.“
“We always have the best service whenever we eat here! I just recently discovered I have a gluten intolerance, and it has made going out to eat more difficult. Lost Coast has gluten free buns from Arise Bakery, and they were really decent as far as GF bread goes. I was so psyched to be able to eat a burger again!! And the cherry cider is so good. We ate at the bar and the bartender Marcus was phenomenal.“
“First try I loved the egg foo yung It was just what I was looking for. The only reason 4 stars is the appetizer platter is not so good especially for the price, I did like the egg rolls though . But regular meals at great prices the first time there will be back ! Very nice people and definitely a old school cute chinese restaurant.“
“Friendly & helpful employees. Delicious chopped brisket sandwich (we added crispy onions) & baked beans. Several flavorful BBQ sauces to choose from with great descriptions to help you decide - ultimately ended up purchasing a bottle of their "Georgia" sauce to bring back home with us.“
“I had the garden burger, garlic cheese fries, and an Oreo milkshake. Everything was delicious and service was provided with a smile. The atmosphere is nostalgic with 1950’s era decor. I live just up the street and frequently visit here. I’m never disappointed…Vegetarian options: Garden burger“
“The food is so good here for breakfast. Service is sort of slow at times but usually friendly. The restaurant is very cold at times and very hot at other times depending on where you sit I guess. I enjoy going because of the very good food and that is what counts the most.“
