Stepping into Joon Shabu Shabu was like opening the door to a dining experience that was not only new but truly magical, marking my delightful introduction to the art of hibachi-style soup creation. This wasn't merely a meal; it was an opportunity to dive into the exhilarating world of cooking right at your table, blending the joy of do-it-yourself cuisine with the comfort and elegance of dining out. The welcoming vibe, accentuated by tantalizing aromas, set a perfect stage for the culinary symphony that awaited. The team at Joon Shabu Shabu was exceptional, radiating a blend of genuine warmth and professionalism that made me feel immediately at home and cherished. Their guidance through the menu and the dining process was like having a personal culinary coach by our side, ensuring that my companion and I felt confident and excited about the adventure we were about to undertake. This thoughtful, non-intrusive support allowed us to savor the array of sauces and ingredients at our own rhythm, adding layers of joy and discovery to our meal.As we placed our orders, the excellence of service continued to shine. The dishes served were a feast not just for the taste buds but for the soul, with every bite bursting with freshness and flavor. The ingredients were abundant, and the equipment was so clean and simple to use, making the entire cooking process a breeze and incredibly fun.Visiting Joon Shabu Shabu was a transformative journey for me, turning what I presumed might be a complex dining style into a celebration of simplicity and conviviality. If you're ever in Glendale, I wholeheartedly encourage you to treat yourself to this gem of a restaurant. It's a place where your culinary dreams are met with a vibrant atmosphere and a chance to play chef, promising not just a meal but an uplifting experience that will brighten your day and warm your heart. Joon Shabu Shabu isn't just about satisfying your hunger; it's about creating memories that linger long after the meal is over.

First of all, if shabu shabu is new to you like it was for some of us, then this would be an great start!Thank you Jason for giving us amazing service. From explaining the process to making sure we were always filled up with our sides, sauces, and drinks. The Joon beef was amazing and the variety of veggies they give is a lot. The black rice was really tasty and unlimited. So we're the sauces. The prices we're fair but then again when service is great then it makes sense. They have high bar and low bar seating for preferences. Some kids might need a high chair so low bar seating makes sense. The broth was fun because they let you mix it up on your own.Fun tip: they give you purse clips for the table.

Loved the food but the service was a zero was our first time there everyone before us got an explanation on how it works what to do and how to do it meaning the food and sauces etc. The waitress was a little rude just gave us the plates and left didn't say ANYTHING she never came back I was waiting because I had a sample of sauces. My haunny had to ask another waiter for information. And we noticed it was just us that no one came to talk to us. Idk if it was because we're Latinos. It wasn't a pleasant feeling. Not going back and for my haunny to agree with me about the service that never happens.

$50 meal and you get to cook it yourself and don't forget this is not an "all you can eat" joint. In a bar-like setting, Joon Shabu Shabu, is not your traditional place and more just an Asian hot pot. With a limited selection of meats, the menu is simple and yet elegant. Base flavors for the soup are subtle and as strong as you want to muster out by squeezing the bottle. Dipping sauces are surprisingly delicious and pair very well with the meats. Vegetable selection is also on par with having the hot pot essentials further making a complete meal. The favorites are either the Angus beef or the blade-cut Joon beef. You really can not go wrong. The quality is high and perfectly sliced thin. The staff is good and friendly with the occasional hiccup of not filling your water glasses frequently enough.Contentiously, is the value of this. Although, tasty in nature with excellent ingredients, Joon Shabu Shabu is a good choice for your hot pot fix. Unfortunately, the standard $37 base pricing for a large dinner portion is quite a bit light compared to some alternatives elsewhere in the city. Additional add-ons can set you back another $10 and if you're a protein-seeking carnivore you can easily tack on another $20-$30 per person.

Truly the best Shabu Shabu in LA. We make it a habit to go around trying different Shabu Shabu places in any city we go to and Joon Shabu Shabu is by far the best. Their service is amazing, everyone is very nice. The portions are really good and all of their sauces are delicious. Everything tastes homemade. Their base sauces are one of a kind. This is our go-to place for Shabu Shabu

Service was pretty slow even though it wasn’t busy. Meat option on the menu is fair.. the manager and workers were gossiping aloud about one of their coworker’s the whole time we were eating.. Awkward. Unprofessional.

I've been coming here for a number of years and have to say it one of my most special places to eat. It's not a very big place but there always seems to be at least one or two stools to sit on. Basically you sit at a counter with a bowl of boiling water in front of you and they bring you veggies and your type of protein, chicken, beef, pork or fish and you cook your own soup with a few seasoned sauces, onions and garlic and then you put the meat in and dip it in a variety of sauces from garlic mayo to peanut sauce to spicy ponzu to spicy soy sauce. It's pretty wonderful. You also get black rice to eat while you watch your soup cook. It's so much food and you will walk away happily stuffed like a waddling penguin, tasty broth sloshing in your belly. And it will be worth it! I will say that unless you have a large appetite the small portion is enough for lunch. Enjoy and tell them Mike sent you! (I always wanted to say that.)

Bit overpriced for the food given. Understanding that meat is pricy, but vegetables aren't, and the amount given was very conservative. The setup is not conductive to good conversation unless going with only one other person. Service was good though!
