Horrible! I took my father (almost 80 years old) and two other guests for a night out. Almost immediately after we paid and left a nice tip, the host asked us to leave because “they had people waiting”!! Never going back.

This community, family owned restaurant has been a personal favorite since I first dined there in the early 90s. Over the years the quality of La Cabanita's Mexico-City style cuisine has always impressed me. House made salsas and tortillas, best chiles rellenos (including the labor-intensive chiles en nogada), taco de rajas con cream and other terrific menu offerings - not to mention great margaritas - make this place a local treasure. Kudos to the family and staff for maintaining La Cabanita through all the challenges seen over its 30+ years in business. So grateful to visit and share this wonderful restaurant with family and friends!

I read the reviews and had high hopes. 1) Drinks were watered down. 2) Food was cold, not hot. 3) the flavors were not what I expected. I love chili rellenos and and was looking forward to the flavors... the sauce was cold, so I'm not sure if that ruined the profile, but not great. I also tried the mole enchilada with chicken. Again, it was cold, the mole did not remind me of my grandmother's mole, not even close. The best item was their red salsa, I would jar that up and take it home.

I eat all over LA and all over the country. Do not listen to the bad reviews by dunces. This is destination dining and frankly I do not know of a better restaurant for *any* style of food. The tacos/burritos are great but you can get that stuff from a truck. This place has probably 7 or 8 of the tastiest sauces you will find on the planet.GO THAT ROUTE. Get something you don’t recognize and it’ll probably change your life.Green or black mole, spicy pasilla, the silkiest red ranchero sauce, and a verde so fresh and delicious that it literally tastes alive.Chips and salsa are elite. Best black beans I’ve ever had.Again if you want burritos and tacos(the homemade tortillas are???) these are great but there are great trucks for that.GET ONE OF THEIR SIGNATURE PLATES.LA’s best restaurant…nuff said.

Food great. Service is ok but the food makes up for it. The place itself is charming.

Very good, overall. Service was excellent, attentive, and friendly. Chicken Mole Enchiladas were delicious. Tamales, 1 pork and 1 chicken, were good but needed more salsa. Black beans were very good! If we lived close by, we'd visit more often.

A cute little place my friend wanted to try in the hilly part of Glendale right below downtown Montrose on Verdugo. It was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon. Once we were seated - the server was right over. Throughout the entire visit, service was very attentive. We ordered the Chiles En Nogado and a combo with a chicken mole enchilada and a Chile Relleno. My friend was happy with her dish (Chiles En Nogado), her main reason for coming here. She raved o er the fresh handmade tortillas that came with it. My combo was good, not great but good. The mole was good and not too overly chocolate-y like some tend to be. A good balance of all of the rich flavors you'd expect. The Chile Relleno was just ok. Overall, not a bad experience but I wouldn't make another trip from West LA for it. Expect to park on the street I. Front or around the corner. The local parking enforcement will ticket you if your tires are not turned the right way on the hill and they write tickets seven days a week.
