Went to star cafe for lunch on Saturday! Place was packed and so was black cow, our server was excellant and we even met the owner! I tried the sausage and peperoni pizza which was very tasty! So glad we came as we found out they are closing for good on Monday! Thank you guys for great food and service!

I've been coming here since I was little. I have not been back since they reopened after covid and we tried eating there last night. We got there around 7 and walked into the door and waited, the hostess working the register at the front did not greet us, make eye contact or even acknowledge that we were there. She was busy with what looked like to go orders. I could see that they were slightly busy but nothing too crazy so my friend and i waited for a bit hoping someone would tell us if there was a wait time, or just let us know that they were busy and would be with us in a minute. I guess I was in the waiters way a couple times and he politely asked me to move so I did. The front entrance is pretty tight and there's really no room for more than a few people to stand without blocking the door or in the way of the table by the window. I was expecting the hostess to say something to us, anything really. But instead I guess I was in her way too and she needed to get by me and said "excuse me" and squeezed by. Mind you, I had moved myself as far over as I possibly could and I couldn't exactly go back outside to wait because no one had acknowledged that we were waiting for a seat. After almost 10 minutes of waiting, no one said anything to us and at this point we just feel like we were in their way so we left. It's unfortunate that we didn't get to eat here but we did not feel very welcomed so we had to eat somewhere else.

my family has been coming to this restaurant for over twenty years now. I was devastated when they took the handmade chicken ravioli off the menu and stopped serving the strawberry lemonade (something happened to the distributor?) but I still love the salads and pasta dishes here. the bread rolls have always been delicious. I try to come here every time I'm in town visiting family.

Lunch today at the Star was fabulous as usual. The Bolonese Linguini is my favorite dish on the menu. It's a must try if you go there.

We went there last night. The customer service was great! We ordered, and the food was out in 10 minutes, tops. The food was delicious! The quality was great. The price was great. The Star Cafe checked the most important qualifications in my book. The added bonus was the fact that everyone was so kind, I felt like I was one of the family. I will be going back.

We just had our daughter’s birthday lunch here and it was perfect. The staff set up a long table upstairs for us and the kids and adults had the most beautiful lunch! Elias was just wonderful! Super supportive and attentive. Thank you to all the staff at Star Cafe for a perfect day! We recommend this place to ANYYYY party!

This is a must- visit restaurant. It's steeped in the history of downtown Montrose. You think you're in the 1950s or 60s. The food is excellent and the prices are fair. The warm rolls are heavenly!

We live locally and we had only stopped by this restaurant once in many years, until recently. We went on a Monday night and sat in the patio area. It was not a busy night. Immediately we were greeted with very kind hosts and the waiter. They were very attentive and efficient. After we enjoyed our meal I mentioned to the waiter how much we loved their rolls, he gave us a large portion to take home! Overall it was a wonderful experience-can't wait to go back.
