I really love this place and the sushi here. But today the situation of the staff shocked me. We drove from Pasadena specifically to this place, and managed to arrive 20 minutes before closing. I'm pregnant now and all I wanted this evening was sushi from this place. The staff saw that I was pregnant and really wanted it, all they said was “we are already closed”! Although People were still sitting and eating inside. They didn't offer to order to go or anything. All they said was "the restaurant is closed." Although there were still 20 minutes before closing! I really wanted to eat food from your restaurant, but because of the refusal, I even burst into tears because I was denied any service. I will never visit or recommend this place to anyone again! Thank you.

I recently dined at Sushi Story and it exceeded my expectations. The food was a perfect 10 out of 10, with generous portions. I had the Spicy Unagi Roll and the Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box, both delicious. The service was great too. I highly

The quality of food is not as good as before, refer to the picture they call it "Chefs choice sushi" don't know if it's on good side or bad 'cause it sure looked like ends and trimmings! Service not very friendly unless you are a regular, sad. Ambience is good until the service then it just ruined it all.

We love this place for consistently quality sushi. The fish is fresh, the rolls are creative, and the service is excellent. We've been many times now, and it's nice that it's so consistently comfortable with quality sushi.

This place used to be Ichiban before. I was pleasantly surprised on how good it was. I will definitely go back. Quality fish and great sushi

I remember this spot when it used to be “Ichiban” and it felt like the same setup with subtle differences. Went here on Father’s Day because Vegas Buffet was too packed. We started with Calamari tempura which was delicious and the sauce is what I liked the most. The Chicken karaage was also delicious especially with the tempura sauce. The Soft shell crab was ok and a little too batter heavy. The Salmon skin salad was delicious also. The Rainbow roll was pretty good and the Salmon collar was perfectly seasoned/cooked. The sweet shrimp sushi was one of the best I’ve tried and with the crispy fried heads it was solid.I’d definitely come back to check out their other menu items. Parking is at structure across the street.

Horrifically rude woman at the phone. I call in to ask to speak to a manager and she hangs up the phone when I ask to only give my name and number.I call back and she says there are no managers and hangs up! She most likely didn't leave a complaint so its going here since apparently whoever runs this place has little care and puts up with employees like this!

Friendly service for ending the evening...waitresses were extremely attentive. Our simple classic choices were delicious. Spicy tuna roll was spicy just enough....rice marries the spicy tuna well. Yellowtail Neck was the last one ordered for the day...there was a wait but it was worth hot it. Our waitress was so sweet and hospitable. It's a good place to stop by for a bite.

Sushi Story is the best casual dining sushi in LA. The freshest fish, the most interesting and delicious rolls, and the kindest and most caring staff. Go order the yellowtail sashimi, a superman burrito, and thank me later.Parking: Free 90 minute parking right next to Sushi Story in a Glendale public garage.

Love this place for a casual sushi pick me up. The Magnum roll and albacore special roll are sooo good, must try. They make the best Arnold Palmer iced tea we love getting here. Always a fast and friendly service.

If you're looking for that chain restaurant style Japanese food, you'll be glad for Sushi Story. And yes, every now and then, I crave chain restaurant food, don't judge haha. So growing up in Glendale, this place was Ichiban, so I was surprised to see the change, but walking inside, looks exactly the same?Food also was pretty similar to how I remembered it. I usually end up with the bento combo since I like a bit of everything, especially miso soup. Their salmon teriyaki and chicken cutlet were spot on, my classic favorite, plus a favorite of the kids ;)Staff was extremely accommodating, even with our large group with children. We were able to make reservations over the phone. Overall, really enjoyed our meal here! And no, it's not going to be one of those fine dining Japanese spots, but I'd rather be here than Octopus! Free parking for 90 minutes in the parking structure right across the street.

First review of 2023. Walked in for Japanese at Sushi Story after the other restaurant we wanted to eat dinner at had a 1.5 hour wait!!No frills Japanese restaurant. Sushi Story had combos (bento boxes), sashimi, sushi, rolls, etc. we opted for a couple of 2-item combos, I had the pork katsu and beef teriyaki while my son had the chicken teriyaki and tempura. All items were good and fresh and the bento box was perfect for dinner. I also ordered an order of Sushi Story's yellowtail roll, the fish was fresh. Sushi Story, you're okay in my books!
