“Last Sunday, March 31st, after church we had lunch at The Sizzler in Stockton, Ca., and I ordered the half rack of ribs with fries. Today, April 07th, after church we had lunch at Applebee's in Stockton, Ca, and I ordered the half rack of ribs with fries. Although at Applebee's, the price was $5.00 less, the Sizzler ribs were a lot better. Sizzler ribs were more tender and juicy. At Sizzler, I was able to separate each rib and remove the meat off the bone with just the fork only. At Applebee's, I had to use my fork and knife to separate each rib and hold each rib with both hands and bite the meat off the bone. I won't order ribs at Applebee's anymore. Sizzler is my suggestion if you want ribs.“

So decided to try again many years later...very impressed with the ambience, Maitre'd, food, music and changes made to the restaurant. “This is one of the top 3 restaurants I have been to recently!!! The food was amazing and fresh!! We had the fried Asparagus as an app, we split a shrimp Louie salad and we had some of the arugula and prosciutto pizza. The drinks were strong and not too sweet. I had one of the "Im seeing stars" & one "punch drunk love." They were both delicious. If you are in the area you must stop by and give them a try!! The only thing that as a tiny bit off was the music, it didnt match the amazing atmosphere of the restaurant.“

Service was friendly and welcoming but slow even though business was slow. Timing with sitting, ordering, and receiving food was about 1 hour and change for 2 people. Nearby parking garage available if you can't find street parking. Area is shaky, so do not leave valuables in your vehicle. Not even drinks in your cup holders. Indoor and outdoor seating. “This place is the real deal. Four of us had a couple of ribeye steaks (super flavorful and tender with real mashed potatoes and a gigantic salad), and a couple of burgers (just superb). The service was very friendly and professional. Locally owned. We went for lunch. It might get rowdy at night, but at lunch, it's all about the food and drinks. Very reasonable prices. “I am rooting for this local business as they deserve all the support they can get. I ordered two items off their limited menu: fried chicken sandwich and fried chicken loaded fries. I thought the crispiness of the chicken was absolutely perfect; however, I did think the chicken meat itself lacked a lot of flavor. I thought the fries were cooked to perfection and tasted great with the spice blend that I believe the owner created himself. Some things that would have made it a lot of better was if they had added some lettuce or onions to the burger as it was literally just a piece of fried chicken sandwiched in between 2 buns for $12. The loaded fries could have used some more toppings like onions, some bacon bits, jalapenos, cilantro, and maybe drizzled with a homemade creamy or spicy sauce. These additions would not only take their food to the next level but just give the food that extra pop of color to make it more appealing! The store was hard to find and was located on a one way street in downtown Stockton. There is not a clear sign outside on the building besides a stand up sign outside. From the outside, it may look closed. Tip: I parked about a block away and decided to walk. They are at the end of a chain of stores located right next to a parking lot! It was also empty when I visited and there was a lot of seating. The service was great as they took my order and had my food ready within 10 minutes. Although I understand it is located in downtown which can get more dangerous at nighttime, I wish they had the option to do delivery or be open later as this would made a perfect a quick dinner or a late night snack delivery. I hope to be back to try some of their desserts.“
“The AVE owner was so kind. My partner had a family member taken to the local hospital, and I was left with our dog, and two friends because of hospital policy. So I took the dog and friends downtown. We were looking for a place to sit down, snack, and wait till my partner was ready to leave the hospital.The owner let us bring our dog inside, and gave us a nice table and couch to sit on. We let our German Shorthair Pointer sleep on the couch, and the owner was so kind.We are so thankful for the hospitality and kindness that were shown. Ours got flustered, mixed up plates, got orders/sides/and cooking preferences wrong (rare,medium rare, well done), took plates from people at our table after biting it/eating it and switching plates no warning, not to mention, we asked for a a few high chairs when we first showed up, and I had repeatedly asked for them for over 25 minutes until I finally got a bit snappy and asked what was going on and where our chairs were, THEN the hostess did something.“

My husband and I wanted to eat somewhere near the water and after searching Yelp we found this place. I really wanted oysters so it was perfect. When we arrived, it was pretty empty so we was seated right away outside near the water. Our waitress Monica was very kind and attentive. She had amazing customer service. We ordered the shrimp appetizer which was yummy, the peanut sauce was a pleasant surprise, I really enjoyed the spice. We ordered the watermelon margarita and they were delicious 10/10 I would of had three if we didn't have our son and have to pick up my daughter right after. Food: I ordered the chicken salad and oysters my Salad was good , the lettuce was grilled and the chicken was seasoned well, I gave it a 7.5 because I like when my salad is cold and my chicken is warm. The warm lettuce from being grilled threw me off a bit. The oysters was very tasty I gave them a 8/10 I wish they were bigger and less mushy but they were still good I will order again! My husband ordered the burger and he said it was a 6/10 but also loved his margarita! We ordered a kids pizza for my daughter and she really enjoyed! We will definitely be back!“
