What Mexican place doesn't serve tortilla chips? It wasn't my favorite Mexican place, they serve wagon wheel-looking veggie straws with hot sauce when you sit down. My tacos were okay, the short rib was delicious but the chicken was dry and unseasoned. The side of onions was odd. My daughter had cheese quesadilla and they were good. Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing?

Visited first time the "3 ROOTS Mexican cochina" restaurant on Culver Plaza, Irvine. It is a great location, big parking lot. The place is clean, beautiful Latino music on. That is what you want to listen to in a Mexican restaurant. Service was outstanding!!! Our server was Javier , kind, very friendly, checking always if we need anything else. They even prepared margarita what was not on the menu-spicy jalapenos- We ordered appetizers and entries, all had special flavors, all super delicious. The quezo with chorizo, guacamole, esquites (roast corn) the chips and salsa all had great flavor. The seafood rellenos must to try it! They have variety of tacos including birria. So yummy! We had a great time, enjoying good food, great service! Happy to recommend it.

3 Roots Mexican Cocina restaurant is my favorite Mexican restaurant in town(Irvine). The food here is incredible (every dish we ordered!) Awesome place with above great service. Thank you guys for serving us good food.

This was a nice place to eat, but some of the ingredients didnt seem that fresh. I ordered the seafood chimichanga and it was huge but basically all cheese, I think there were maybe 8 small shrimp and I actually had trouble finding any lobster. Service was good but we were 1 of only 2 tables of customers. We did go early though.

3 Roots Mexican Restaurant WOW this place really impressed!!! Watch out all other Mexican Restaurants in the area. The food looked amazing and tasted fabulous! Crane Asada was insane ...yum! The grill chicken was sliced thin and it was juicy! Rice, beans, tortillas ~ everything was served warm!! This is our new favorite place!! The server was very very nice gentleman from Michoacan.

A rare Mexican food option in Irvine that isn't a chain :) dining here was great! They have a nice outdoors patio for when the weather is good, and ample seating inside too. The tortilla soup is very tasty, and I really enjoyed the veggie fajitas we ordered. Presentation of everything is excellent as well. Didn't get a chance to order a drink but it unfortunately doesn't seem like the largest selection. Hopefully will expand as the restaurant is still newer. Parking is plenty in the plaza as well. Overall had a nice experience here and will be back!

I would give them 6 Stars if I could. This is by FAR the most creative and delicious line up of Mexican food that I have ever had. The presentation of dishes were superb and the quality of ingredients excellent. The Ahi Tostada, Shrimp Taquitos and the Bacon wrapped Jalapenos were our of this world. The tacos were fantastic too. The service was GREAT and we got to talk to two of the owner partners (Jorge and Enrique) that were hands on and were very much involved with the patrons. The third partner Juan was the Chef which we did not get to meet. We had a great experience and will certainly go back. Thank you all, especially Jorge, Enrique and Juan.

Everything was really, very good. From the margaritas (I tried a Guava version) to the queso with chorizo and chips to the BEST chicken salad I've had in a very long time... and an amazing carnitas taco and tortilla soup. Service was great too. Excellent food. This may become a regular since I'm in walking distance. Also, the meals are big size portions.

Not the best but not terrible. To start the "chips" they serve you are not chips and were very stale when we received them. The drinks are terrible. We ordered a peach margarita which came in a water glass and was terrible. The michelada was definitely not a michelada... it's was a beer with a dash of tomato juice. The taquitos were very good, we were pretty happy with those. The fajitas were extremely oily and bland. The burrito was good my fiancé liked that and said he would eat it again. Overall we were in the middle about our experience.
