When you walk in, you immediately feel the ambiance of the Islands. They really do have good coffee though. The wait was minimal and everything was flavored well. I got a flat white, and the pull was exactly as expected and not bitter at all. They have a lot of snack options, food options, and spam musubi!!! The owner here is super friendly. I am often here for small lunch & dinner stops after work or feel like doing project & studies away from the university campus. I most often order the hawaiian style rice to slowly munch at & just enjoy the open seating. She usually remembers me when I come around & greets me with a smile since the first time we had talked over a drink and learning I was a student at university.

As of 2/2/2022, Kona is closed and ordered to leave/vacate per OC Sheriff Department. Notice is posted on their front door. Shame because I liked their coffee and food selection pre-COVID. They never really came back during the pandemic since OC allowed limited dining and stuff: inconsistent staffing, inconsistent hours, closed kitchen, etc. I worked across the street so I was a frequent customer to Kona and plaza in general.
