This Marriott is old and outdated, my room was smoky, it smelled like a restaurants kitchen, and had fleas. The hotel staff was rude and unprofessional with me and my wife. If you're passing through Irvine, don't stay here. Who ever running that place should be fired.

Probably one of the worst Courtyards I've ever stayed at. A few mentions: first time we ever had to pay daily parking. No breakfast included. Room smells without the AC constantly running. My walls keeps making knocking noises. My sink takes forever to drain water. Toilet tank has a chip( marriott, you seriously cant afford to replace a toilet?) and yellow stains on seat cover. Very slow internet.

Good location but beware of a few extremely rude team members at the front check in and check out desk!! Other issue is the maid service obviously overlooks pubic hairs stuck to the door frame of the bathroom in room #118. She needs to look up when she is cleaning in there!

I visited a few weeks ago for a work trip. Lobby is nice looking but when entering my hotel room it's smelled like cat pee and mildew on the first floor. It was late the first night and I was exhausted to change rooms. I went to the front desk in the day and asked them if they could spray deodorizer. Came back a few hours later and it wasn't sprayed. I asked again and then went out again as I couldn't stay in the room when it smelled that bad and was making me nauseous. I came back again a few hours later and it still smelled. I asked to switch rooms and went to my next new room which also happened to be on the first floor. Immediately I turned around after entering because it smelled just as bad as the first room. They then moved me up to the 3rd floor. Still smelled but not as bad. There were walls in the hallway on the first floor that had blue tape holding the wallpaper together. Pool also looked a little neglected. They also have a shuttle service to and from the airport which I couldn't find advertised. One staff member was really nice, I believe his name was Jerry(had gages).

This hotel is fine for an overnight. I wouldn't recommend a multiple night vacation here, but for a one night stay before a flight or a Disney day it's fine. It's definitely in need of some upgrades, but it's large, only $10 for parking in a garage and clean.

Terrible customer service (Jerry) and check in experience. Bathroom was dirty. Advertised rate was not applied despite assurance it would be validated. Would not stay here again for business.

My room was located next to a side door on the ground floor. This was one of the main exits to the garage, so someone was coming or going every 30 seconds. Few, if any, guests showed any consideration for the poor schmucks as myself stuck in the rooms here and were extremely loud . One lady was standing in the doorway shouting into her cellphone at midnight. When I called the front desk to complain, there was no apology, no offer to relocate rooms or to a different property. Nothing. There was also no recognition of Titanium status at checkin...just a curt "do you want the points or the food credit?" This property is a glorified Super 8 and shouldn't have the Marriott brand attached.

My family typically tries to stay at a Marriott Courtyard when we travel because we know what to expect. Over the past 20 years we would get a Clean hotel, good service. This courtyard is not like any other we have ever stayed at. This Marriott Courtyard John Wayne Airport Irvine provides Horrible service and very dirty dated rooms. Because of the bad experience we had with this courtyard (John Wayne Irvine location) we will never just trust the courtyard brand. I'm even thinking about changing from always looking for a courtyard to now looking for a Hyatt or Hilton. Do not stay here.

Judging by the parking garage, the hotel was pretty empty so we had no noise issues. The staff was very helpful with advice for a request for an extended stay. There is a $10 a night parking fee. I guess that is a reaction to "resort fees" at other hotels. These hidden fees are very annoying. The Bistro pre-made food had no gluten free options so we ate elsewhere.

I had a decent stay at Courtyard by Marriott Irvine John Wayne Airport. In general, the hotel had all the basic amenities for me to be enjoyable. This wasn't necessarily a make or break for me since I bring my own, but I observed that lotion wasn't provided in the bathroom. Something to note if you rely on hotels' toiletries. They didn't skimp on great shampoo, conditioner, and body wash though. There was plenty of on site parking. Solid free wi-fi. Staff members were friendly and professional. I appreciated the convenience of the mini café in the lobby where I had some good lattés in the morning. There were other aspects of my room that irked me though. - My room was very spacious, but the bathroom felt tiny and cramped even though I was the only occupant. - The remote control stopped working, and I couldn't find how to manually turn off the TV. I swiveled the TV around to look for the power button but couldn't find it on the back or on the edges, so I had to unplug the s****** - Either the walls were super thin, or my neighbor next door cranked up the volume on the TV incredibly loud. Also my neighbor above me was heavy footed. I woke up at 5:30am to this person stomping around like they were exercising or who knows what. - The shower took a while to heat up, and the water pressure was really low. - If you're like me, who likes to watch TV in bed, perhaps you'd think the placement of the furniture was questionable too. I was on the bottom floor, so I had sliding doors that opened out to the beautiful outdoor patio. The bed faced out to the doors, but the TV was located on the office desk that was to the right of the bed. I would have to lie on my right side to watch TV in bed, which isn't the most comfortable position to me.

Stayed 3 nights over Labor Day weekend for a soccer tournament. The hotel has everything we needed and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our kids spent most evenings in the lobby hanging out. The bistro made very convenient to stay in doors.
