“This is one of my favorite places to eat on the campus. The burritos are the real star. The chicken tikka masala is the real star. I've tried the Makhini one as well, but it wasn't as good. I wish they lamb as a choice here as well.“
“I had an exceptional dining experience at Clay Oven Indian Cuisine! The Chicken Tikka Masala was flavorful and tender, and the Yellow Dal was a delightful surprise. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommend! ??“
“This was the best restaurant experience I have ever had. The waiters were very friendly and attentive. Our order arrived on time, and most importantly, the dishes were delicious. I visited the place with my wife, and she was very pleased. As they say, a happy wife equals a happy life.“
“Wow, let me just say this place is pleasantly surprising in terms of food options, flavor, and quality. I tried this tofu sushi Indian style, and it was delicious. The fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned. I can't wait to go back for the chick pea burger and samosas. I also want to try the mango lassi! I live pretty close by and have gotten so tired of chains like Subway with limited vegan options. I'm glad I can grab something on the go that's fresh and healthy! Also, the owner was very kind which is always a plus!“
“Superb Indian food. Friendly informed service. We went for Gluten free food. There is lots on the menu. I'm only recently gluten intolerant but I have had a hard time finding my GF food in San Diego, which is also family friendly (i.e. not dry salads, which kids hate). This place was awesome. Highly recommended to anyone whether gf or notI found the restaurant on a Gluten free app called "Find Me GF" thanks guys you made my day. ??Also we loved the wall paper!Dietary restrictions: LOTS of Gluten free and other allergy options (lime more than half the menu. Call and ask, really helpful friendly owners.“
“Delicious. The Marsala is amazing. All their sauces are tasty.Naan is delightedly delicate and tender. Scrumptious. The saag is full of flavor.Spice is just right for the American palate. You may add more if needed.Atmosphere is clean, but somewhat sterile. A few decorations and Indian cable is on the television.A great place for Indian food.“
“Wow…this place is blowing up with awesome food and flavors. We tried many options and they were all fantastic. We order chicken and goat sukka, butter chicken, tikka Marsala, veg street noodles (so good we ordered the chicken ones also) butter naan, biryani, rice, white rice, and basmati rice. For appetizers, try the tandoori chicken and chicken 65. Everything including the service was awesome.“
“I looked for an ethnic restaurant for our Valentine's Day dinner, and we're so happy to have found Bhojan Griha. The food is prepared with excellent skill using all fresh ingredients. The curry and masala had the perfect flavor and spices, and the samosas were mouth watering. Relax and enjoy the atmosphere and company while you wait, because the food is prepared from scratch.Vegetarian options: Our vegetarian friends love this restaurant.“
“Have tried this place a few times so far (both dine in and delivery -- a la carte only), and the food has been consistently good. Our favorites have been idli (has gotten better over time), vada, pongal and bhel puri. The dosas are decent too. Kids like their set dosa. The chutneys are very good too. I notice that with most South Indian restaurants, the quality of chutneys deteriorates over time, but so far they've maintained the quality. I really hope they keep up the quality of food.“
“The food was absolutely amazing!!! We hired them for Sangeet and Reception at our wedding. The diversity of their options allowed us not to repeat a single item for any event, and it was all absolutely delicious!!! Varun is super easy to work with as well! He’s very passionate about the food and the business and it shows! Highly recommend them!! ?“
“This is the best vegetarian Indian Restaurant in San Diego. Buffet is all vegetarian.Vegetarian options: Best Vegetarian place and every saturday the buffet is all vegetarian.Dietary restrictions: Best place for vegetarian food in San Diego.“
“Not sure why this place doesn't have better reviews. A friend and I came here for lunch and we got the lunch special. All the dishes were on point and the naan came out hot and just the right amount of crispy. Would definitely come back.“
“I came here searching for some good Indian food and I definitely found what I was looking for! The food was delicious and did not disappoint. The food came out quickly and the service was great. Definitely would recommend this to anyone looking for good food!“
“We had a pretty big group of friends getting together after quite some time. Paya and Nihari were the best. My friends liked the grilled kebabs also. They also introduced Khapsa, a Yemani dish but with a desi twist. Very tasty. Overall great experience. Highly recommendedParking: We arrived pretty late in the day, so parking was no issue.“
“We ordered online for pickup from the Commerce location not quite understanding that it’s not a store front restaurant. While we did wait a while and it’s clear their business is primarily a meal delivery service, the owner/manager was extremely kind and most importantly the food was DELICIOUS! Authentic Indian cuisine with excellent quality and value. We ordered the non-veggie and veggie meals of the day, somosas and roti. If I lived closer, I’d absolutely order several meals a week.“
“3.5 stars... rounds up to 4? I guess? It's a cute place in cute South Park. Great atmosphere, colorful and airy. Really young clientele when we went, which was just when they opened. The food was decent, but not astounding. The tomato creme based dishes were notably thin and watered down, and the rice could have been cooked a few minutes more. The Naan was great though, as were the appetizers (Samosas and some potato pancake sort of thing, I think?).Service was a bit scarce, but the pleasant demeanor of the server easily made up for it. Also, note to Management: please inform the wait staff that providing the customer with a bill to review BEFORE they pay isn't some extraneous old-timey "boomer" thing, but a standard transactional necessity for customers. People need to know exactly what their bill is comprised of before they pay (you don't just verbally tell them a total and ask for a credit card). That's the point of bringing the bill first. It's in everyones' best interest to make sure there aren't errors! Thanks, Curiosity. We enjoyed ourselves!“
“THIS IS A GREAT PLACE! Without exaggeration, I've probably visited this place over 20 times. This is the BEST Indian food I've found in San Diego, yet it seems like I'm eating at a fancy restaurant because it's so reasonably priced. It's pretty amazing how pleasant, kind, and attentive the service is, and how nicely decorated and presented the plates and dishes are. I suggest all chicken dishes, but especially Chicken 65 and " Chicken dum Biryani." Any finicky eater, like me, will appreciate the meals here. I say this from experience.“
“My brother and I were staying in Mission Beach and wanted to find an Indian restaurant close by that had good reviews. The food here is amazing! I talked it about it for days haha. We shared the Chicken Korma, Chicken Saag, Garlic Naan. The restaurant looks like more of a “fast food/take out” place and is in a shopping area. It’s not fancy, but a nice, casual place with friendly staff and great service. We also liked the “sauce” bar. I’ve eaten at a lot of Indian restaurants and this tops my list, You won’t be disappointed!“
“Owner is very cooperative. He understands that we are looking for healthy, no oil, no cream yet flavorful food which is exactly what we get each time we order from here. We have tried most all dishes. Very good service. They also own Virsa. We are regulars.“
“Restaurant was very clean and service was top-notch. The food came out quickly and was delicious. We were a family of five and ordered three main dishes and two sides of rice, along with two sides of garlic non-and it was perfect. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Can’t wait to go back.“
“The customer service is great! Very kind local India food spot! The Naan is perfect on a cold, rainy day. Warms and fills you stomach instantly! I recommend getting the mango specialty drink. It's so good you will wish for a larger cup!“
“We recently had World Curry cater for an office party. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. They really worked with us on accommodations- some of our team members are gluten-free.I highly recommend their service for your next event!“
“My coworker and I came here on a Friday night, I think he had some sort of Groupon. We ordered a ton of things: Masala Vada - Deep fried chana dal patties served with Chutney, Masala Dosa - Dosa stuffed with masala (potato, carrot, peas and onion), Vegetable Biryani - Dosa stuffed with masala (potato, carrot, peas and onion), Malai Kofta - Deep fried balls (koftas) made with potato and paneer are dunked in a creamy spiced velvety smooth curry, Gobi Manchurian - Cauliflower florets tossed in hot chilli and soy based manchurian sauce, Bisi Bele Bath - Rice, lentils, and vegetables cooked with special blend of spices, Onion Naan and Garlic Naan. Food was amazing and I would love to come here again!“
“If you love spice and flavor, this is the place. I had been wanting to try Haleem for a while now, something Pista House is well known for. It was delicious, and so were the Samosas and chutney that came with it. Masala chai after the meal really hit the spot. Extremely nice lady at the front made me feel right at home. The haleem is not always available though, so call in ahead to make sure they have it. Highly recommend, certified bussin.“
“Place is wonderfully decorated. Open and breezy. The service was great and recommended a few apps that were really good. My friend thought his tendori chicken was lacking flavor but every thing I tired was great. The drinks were really good.“
“This was one of the better South Indian culinary experiences that I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying! The Paneer Butter Masala is superb, and it is even better than the Chicken Tikka Masala, if that is even possible... These two dishes were the highlight of the evening with their fullness and rich taste. The Lamb Rogan Josh was very spicy, despite the fact that I requested mild spice, but it was savory and full of flavor. This dish was prepared in a homemade and authentic Southern Indian fashion. If you like spice, then this is your dish... The Cocktail Naan is a spicy version of the Garlic Naan. It had green chili peppers as a topping, and it would be perfect as an appetizer to accompany a glass of wine. The regular Garlic Naan was also good, but it was substantially burned on the bottom and edges. The Raita was an interesting take on this side dish, because it contained chopped onions. Although the yoghurt was at an acceptable consistency, the lack of herbs and abundance of onions in this version of Raita left it a bit bland and dry. The Customer Service here was great! Akni was very helpful... I would have given them 4.5 stars if I could, as they are definitely an up and coming restaurant.“
“Great place, great food, great service but very expensive for vegatarian Indian food. 3 dishes with 3 different Nan, $135 with tip. We didn't order any expensive meat dishes. Not sure I will go again but I have to admit, it was good. Most restaurants whimp out when you request spicy but they delivered.“
“I really enjoyed the Chettinadu Pizza with Chicken. It has a delicious green sauce! Not spicy, just flavorful. And it’s full of fresh onions, bell peppers, chicken. Even half the 10 inch was filling. I like the crust too. It’s very saucy and not too sturdy, so you might want to plan to eat it there. I think it might get pretty soggy otherwise. They have a few tables and more outside. No bathroom, good to know. They have more pizzas I want to try; but I didn’t realize that they have lots of other things like Gobi Manchurian, Korean Bowls…The Chettinadu pizza had such good flavors that I am excited to try more of their cooking.“
“Went to this place a couple weeks to catch the happy hour. We've been looking for good indian food since the pandemic and we have found it!! Garry was the best and was attentive to our needs. When the tables started to fill up, he got a bit busy but he would check in and see if we needed anything else. Food was delicious and the MANGOSSSSSS! So good! Try out the happy hour! Will go again. (Side note: The restaurant has a rental hall and it does get a bit loud when they play music but we didn't mind. )“
“We loved the fact that they offer Sabudana vada. being a visitor in San Diego, it was wonderful to be able to find a place where we could get vrat food on Shivratri day. Mango Lassi was also very good.Vegetarian options: All their food is vegetarian.“
“Never dined in but ordered take out many many times. The first things we tried were so good we've never branched out to try new dishes. Chicken makhani, garlic and/or cheese naan, and the mixed momo are unbelievable. I'm a biryani fan and the fact that I still haven't tried theirs speaks to how good the makhani is. Tikka masala as well. The momo and dipping sauce that comes with it are the highlight, however, and were a new thing for us. The only downside is that it's a bit pricey unless you stretch things with naan or rice. Still, it's worth it now and then for some flavors you wouldn't find at your average Indian place.“
“I was not all that hungry so got the lunch special to go. I got the chicken curry, and the tandoori chicken. It came with fresh hot naan, and some rice. It was tasty and authentic. Next time I'm real hungry I'll try the buffet. My one and only critique would be the little bit of salad was served atop the hot food, so if you want a nice cool fresh crisp salad leave that want at the door. It does save on containers, and therefore waste, but perhaps they can put it on a foil wrap to keep it semi separated. Anyways it's still a great value and delicious so I'll accept that minor flaw.“
“Reading Claudia P's review made me realize how much I miss this place so decided to go here for dinner tonight. I agree with Claudia, this is some of the best Indian food I've had in the US and I've spent extensive time in India. It's a family operated business and the staff is super friendly. This is off the beaten path in an industrial complex that might get overlooked. It gets incredibly busy for lunch. There is limited seating and a cute outdoor patio area. The food is flavorful and delicious. The portions are huge and I usually have plenty of leftovers. Love it here!“
“I am an Indian and this is very very close to authentic food. Hands down the most delicious Indian food we had in a very long time in America. We tried chicken biryani, saag, kofta curry made extra spicy with garlic naan. Our server Gaurav suggested these based on our North Indian heritage and want to thank him for this.“
“Ever since I discovered this place I always go back when I am in the mood for Indian food. It is so delicious and authentic I will never go to another place again. The employees are friendly and nice. I really recommend it if you want indian food or comfort food.“
“Came here to have some amazing Indian food. And that we did.As soon as we walked in we thought to sit on patio (kids inside) but were advised to sit inside due to cold air so we obliged. Service was amazing. Not too much not too little. Food was delicious and spice level accurate and fair. Portions are literally perfect. Every restaurant in The world should serve these size portions. We ate everything as anyone should every time dining out. As we were there around late dinner time the place was not too busy and had plenty of pick up meals. Letting us know it’s good.We both had chicken dishes. Very good. Try the paneer pakora.Recommend this spot!Parking: Place is in a little plaza comes with a parking lot.Kid-friendliness: Kids were there when we arrivedWheelchair accessibility: All one floor. Looks like easy access to patio as well.“
“I’ve been going to Urban India about for about 10 years now. It’s my all time favorite Indian food in San Diego, whether it be take out or I eat there everything is always excellent. I’ve tried about every single item on the menu and you can just tell they use high quality ingredients. The staff is friendly and attentive. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The perfect patio to people watch during comic on and other major events. They even have a dj on the weekend playing Latin music and reggaeton. Go for dinner then stay for the music and the vibes. 10/10 recommendVegetarian options: They have many vegan and vegetarian options. Good place to go with people with different dietary restrictions“
“5 out of 5 of a great service, and 10 out 10, or in this case to infinity ♾️ to their delicious food and the drinks, also as a recommendation to this Indian restaurantKid-friendliness: Don't let your kids, be so picky, unless they'll try it and they'll enjoy it, and so as their parents will try it too, as recommended of course.“
“Chai, Samosas and onion bhajiya were well made and we loved it. The food was not oily and spiced to perfection. This location is conveniently located and has large variety of selection. The ambiance is good and the dude in the front desk is very accommodating. If you pay by credit card there is 3% surcharge.Dietary restrictions: They will try to cater to your dietary preferences.Parking: Small free parking space available. You can park in nearby business lots without the fear of being towed, if you won’t take more than an hour or so. I’d recommend to park near 7/11.Kid-friendliness: It is kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible.“
“Best place to get Indian food by the ocean! I try to come here for lunch during the weekday and the service is always superb. I like to start off with their garlic naan. Also try their sauce too as it’s super tasty. This is also great for date night. Has outdoor heaters which is a plus. Highly recommend. 5/5“
