Don't miss La Jolla's top Mexican restaurants, as recommended by Restaurantji.
“The yummiest Mexican food in La Jolla. Always quick and delicious. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. It's easily my kids' favorite place to eat! They love the cheese quesdillas and rice. I love the veggie burrito. Top it off with their spicy red salsa ?? My husband gets the combo platter with a crunch beef taco & cheese enchilada. Very inexpensive for the great quality, and they always get our order right, even with modifications to accommodate dietary restrictions.Vegetarian options: Lots of burritos, tacos, tamales and other dishes that can be modifiedDietary restrictions: I order my burritos without cheese and they have gotten it right 100% of the timeKid-friendliness: There are only a handful of tables for dining in, but they are very welcoming to having little ones around. My kids love the most plain items on the menu (quesadilla and rice), though there are lots of options kids would like.“
“We stopped by a famer's market on a random Sunday afternoon in La Jolla and stumbled upon this food vendor making incredible looking food that made our mouths water, so naturally, we had to give them a try! They have an all-vegetarian menu which is what initially drew my Husband and I over to their tent, and when we saw the grill master cooking up some good eats, we knew we made a good choice! We ordered the chilaquiles to share, they come topped with soyrizo (plant based chorizo) and the red ranchero sauce and were the perfect amount for sharing. They were one of the most delicious chilaquiles we had ever tried, I definitely recommend giving this business a try!“
“Not a bad restaurant, we are in sandiego though so much better Mexican food out there, Puesto is just at the cove and el agave is more downtown, 2 restaurantz that are Mexican I would much recommend over this,.if you are in the area just do“
“The bacon breakfast burrito is incredible. The salsa they put on it (and all their burritos) is LEAGUES BEYOND what other taco places in this area put inside the burrito. Don’t get me wrong - La Jolla taco places are all good. But Raymundo’s is criminally slept on, given that they have the best burritos, with REAL fillings.“
“Note for next time/other vegans: swap the sour cream and cheese on the potato burrito for rice and beans (asked and this is allowed).Love that there is a vegetarian section of the menu. I was hoping to switch the sour cream and cheese for potato on the veggie burrito, but they said it wasn’t possible. Instead got the surfer gigante burrito without sour cream and cheese, which cost $1.50 more ($11.99). Didn’t love the whole wheat tortilla — it kind of cracked and crumbled. The potatoes were great though, appreciated that they weren’t French fries. The burrito felt a little “empty”/not wrapped as tight as I would have hoped. Was warm on the inside at least (looking at you Don Carlos).“
“Food comes out super fast and the prices are really good. Also I got their birria quesadilla today and it was the best birria i’ve ever had, in my opinion better than Mikes red tacos or SD street food carts. Super crispy, juicy, and flavorful with the perfect amount of salt.“
“03/19/24 - went for a random "let's eat out moment" not realizing it was taco Tuesday and this spot is a gourmet taco house! We ended up taking the food home but were still provided a great service. Host was super sweet and explained our questions.. we ordered the ribeye, filet mignon, al pastor, mushroom, and two pozole tacos and the potato taquitos. All the tacos were seriously delicious with favorites pastor, ribeye and pozole. Partner likes mushroom and filet mignon.10/10 would recommend for tacos or date nights if ya don't mind the prices“
