“Came here for a late lunch with three friends. Ordered pad see-ew with tofu, beef drunken noodles, calamari pad Thai, curry with beef, and basil eggplant to share (not pictured). My drunken noodles were top notch, although some morsels of beef were *very* tough. Our shared eggplant dish was great; nice texture and an amazing sauce to mix with a side of rice. As for the rest, a generally positive consensus—good flavors (but slightly muted), great portion sizes, and as authentic as it can get!Loved the hospitality, the silverware, the seating (which is cushioned if dining outdoors), and the overall peaceful vibe. Even though the location is tucked away, come here if you want a leisurely luncheon! It may even be a nice date spot too. Just make sure to bring around $25 per person; our bill split perfectly somehow ($100.44).Vegetarian options: Your selection of protein can be vegetarian (e.g. veg, tofu), but a dish can be vegetarian on request or from the dish description.“

“I don’t understand why this place has such low stars- this is really good thai food! They had calamari option for noodles, which tasted so good, can’t get that at many other places. Service was good and fast, this place should have more stars.“

“Decent but not amazing. we were expecting an “unassuming” low key joint per the google maps description, but it looks like the restaurant changed names and potentially decor so it’s just another bougie la jolla restaurant. We got the golden moon appetizer - don’t get that- it was trader joe’s frozen aisle level of texture and flavor. i was expecting a crispy flaky bigger buttery pastry. barely any filling inside!I got the larb chicken salad and my friend got the pan and curry. Both were good.Ended with the FBI dessert and welll….it didn’t taste as good as the description, mostly cuz why wrap the banana in egg roll skins instead of just tempura batter???“

Little Thai La Jolla Thai • $

“The ambience of this place is very high-end. It looks and feels expensive, but the price is affordable. The service was really nice and food was excellent. We are from LA. We would eat the chicken here again when we come back. The fresh spring roll was OK. The peanut sauce has curry in it and nothing special on the roll. The ka pow whas good too. The sticky rice with mango was good very simple. It was not mango season so the mango was not the sweetest. What surprised us was the grilled chicken, big great portion that can feed two people with two amazing, dipping sauces, but the chicken is really good by itself.“

“It's perplexing to see negative reviews without specific details on dishes. Having worked at Hithai for five years, it's a personal favorite, especially for the fantastic Pork Chop and Panang curry sandwich. The Thai Tom Yum Noodle Soup and Egg Noodle BBQ pork are also top picks. Criticizing the prices seems unjust, as these dishes are reasonably priced at $5 for to-go orders. If you're seeking a great atmosphere, La Jolla on Garnet St or Pearl St has many Thai restaurants, albeit at a higher cost of $30-$50 per person. Personally, I give Hithai a 5-star rating for its delicious food and the friendly service, with special mention to Stan, the excellent manager, and his amiable staff.“
