Classic diner vibes, with a lil livas spice! Foster Farms Cafe is some of Livingston's best. Like most diners, the menu is pretty extensive. From traditional American breakfast to fried chicken dinner and literally everything in between. Some of my favorites are the spicy chicken soup (MUST TRY), tuna melt (when available), BLT, club, sweet potato fries, and fried chicken (duh). Food is made fresh, great quality, and isn't super greasy. Portion sizes are very large. You'll 100% get your money's worth! The spicy chicken soup is a signature menu item. It is absolutely unique and delicious. It's kind of hard to describe but I want to say it's like a crossover between chili and chicken tortilla soup? It's hearty and has a great spice combination filled with hominy, chicken, corn. I like to top mine off with tapatio and extra black pepper. Really, if you take anything from this review, just try this soup. This spot is your typical comfortable neighborhood diner. It feels homey and welcoming. Service is always super friendly. Most weekday mornings/early afternoons are slow enough, you can seat yourself. Weekends are jammed packed; they'll open the extra seating area. Their hours have varied a lot since the pandemic. I know they're open late on Thursdays. To be safe, I'll call before I stop by to make sure they're open. If you're driving down the 99, craving some diner food, skip Denny's and come straight here!

Food 9/10: This is the only place in town that serves breakfast American food. And it's pretty darn good. Their chicken sandwiches and salad is great. I definitely recommend this spot to people when they come in to town looking for something similar to Denny's. I haven't found anything on the menu that I don't like. Service 10/10: The service here is phenomenal. Everyone is friendly and happy. They're on top of it with the refills and do converse with you; which is great. Just overall amazing service and energy. Ambiance 10/10: I love getting breakfast and being seated in a place that feels like a diner. Which is exactly what it feels like; home. Pricing 10/10: it's affordable and the food portion is filling. No complaints here. Cons: They're not open on weekends and they close early.

Food was good. Service was a bit slow. So I give it a 4 out 5. Servers could have been better if they more attentive.

This was a special lunch with friends and as usual the food did not disappoint. It was fresh, hot, and the chicken breasts were huge! I ordered the Nugget lunch and spuds as my side. Everything was fabulous and the staff was so friendly and welcoming and the restaurant was extremely clean.

I came to this establishment with high hopes because I've heard people say good things about it.Let's get down to business. My first impression was older country style. Not to say that's it's bad, it was clean. Felt like an old school country diner. We wanted to order a bit of everything to try. I ordered the chicken fried steak with biscuits and gravy on the side and the chicken nuggets. My wife ordered a side of coleslaw (because you can't be a country restaurant if your coleslaw sucks), along with the stuffed chicken (which was just a version of Chicken cordon bleu) with onion rings and lastly a cup of the chicken spicy soup (which was chicken chili). My food was ok, nothing that's wow worthy. But if you order anything with gravy on it, you'll have to get there really early because they run out of gravy by.. say noon. They're also not willing to make more for any other orders that would come in that day, according to their manager. Even though they were open for another 5-6 hours. The 'chefs' decided they would just toss chicken cordon bleu sauce over my chicken fried steak and call it a day. They tried with the biscuits as well, but our server stopped that travesty before it happened. Thank you for that.Usually, I like to give the benefit of the doubt to a restaurant, but this one we will just call it....no. won't be back.P.S. nuggets were dry!! The ranch was straight out of the hidden valley bottle. How hard is it to make ranch dressing? ?
