Found this gem while visiting Merced for the first time and grateful we chose to pay a visit. We were greeted with a friendly welcome, given warm tortilla chips along with a homemade salsa to start. The menu is limited in choices compared to other Mexican restaurants we visit, but don’t let that deter you! Everything we ordered was all delicious. We were passing through Merced on our way home to Bakersfield. We stopped at Chiquitas because of the reviews. The server was amazing and the food was delicious and exceeded our expectations. The owner/chef was friendly and came out to our table to visit after cooking our meal.
