“Wow the food is great. Such a surprise find. This restaurant is very close to another Sichuan restaurant and it's right next to a bbq restaurant so make sure you are going to the correct entrance.I recall coming to this place when I meant to go to the Sichuan restaurant so I left last time and I think it was a mistake to try this restaurant only after so many years. This restaurant is amazing. I don't know whether this changed owners but wow the food tastes so good. It's probably my favorite Chinese spicy food restaurant in the Peninsula now.The food portions are small but the prices reflect that and it's nice to see prices didn't go crazy for once.Even the way the ingredients are chopped can tell that the ones in the kitchen paid attention because the pieces are cut properly as opposed to other Chinese restaurants such as Wonderful (they should train the kitchen helper who to chop stuff there).Everything we ordered tastes great. I liked the frog dry pot. I also liked the spicy fish. The pork liver also is tender and flavorful. I really can't find any fault in terms of food here other than maybe presentation but who cares when they taste good. Even white rice tastes good and goes well with spicy food. The service is good and quick. The place is small but has decent number of tables. I don't recommend huge parties due to the space but I highly recommend this restaurant.“

“January 2024:Heard rave reviews on the Peking Duck ?. Came here specifically to try the duck.I give five stars ✨ for the duck. They served the duck in three separate dishes: crispy skin with hoisin sauce and thin wrappers, a delicious soup, and a stir fry with the boney pieces. I thought it was a very creative way to use every bit of the duck. The soup tasted rich! The stir fry was not my favorite but was still nice to make a dish with the remaining duck parts. Also ordered a whole bass, two different noodles and veggies.I would definitely come back again for more delicious food. There were a lot of other items from the menu that looked good!“

“Went back to "Little Chengdu," which used to be "Little Sichuan" in San Mateo. Happy they're open again after the pandemic. The new place is smaller but feels cozy. Had a nice surprise when my partner debated a third dish; I remembered their big portions, so I said no. The Cold Noodle was still big enough for both of us!My favorite, the Sichuan Spicy Cold Noodle, was as good as always. Big portion, tasty sauce—satisfying.Tried Tea Smoked Duck for the first time, and it was better than expected. Tastes like smoked turkey with a hint of tea. Smelled a bit smoky, but the flavor was excellent, not too bitter. Just a heads up, parking around the area might be a bit difficult.“

“Wonderful is a guilty pleasure. I regularly volunteer to drop/ pick friends and fam from SFO so as to dine here. Yesterday was yet another occurrence.Photos and videos are of three separate occasions. Typically I get lamb cilantro or chicken cilantro (subbed), this is my favorite dish. I also, really enjoy their chowmein although my friends find it on the blander side. The one time I tried the Iron pot, it blew me away! I do need company though to order this and best had hot from the pot.My veggie friends like to order dan dan noodles, eggplant with garlic, stir fried string beans and bokchoy with garlic. I really enjoy the first two and share when ordered. They are addicting! The green onion pancakes are great if you order soup and also are part of a large group.Vegetarian options: I enjoy their vegetarian selections as much as their meat ones.“

“We tried a mix of Sichuan and Northern Chinese dishes atYummy Szechuan, and the flavors were impressive. However, as a spicy food fan, I found the Spicy Pork Ear, Chongqing Spicy Chili Chicken, and Mao Xue Wang a bit milder than I prefer. If you're like me and love extra heat, consider asking for more chili in these dishes. Despite the spice level, the quick service, varied flavors, and cozy atmosphere made the experience enjoyable. The Toothpick Lamb With Cumin, The Salted Egg with Golden Sand Prawns, and The Chongqing Spicy Chili Chicken stood out, even if they weren't super spicy.“

“I was looking for a party tray of chow mein for a kids party and came across this restaurant online. They were quick to answer the phone and provide answers for the questions I had. It’s a hole in the wall…location is in a bad spot where you’ll probably drive past it while on the main road. When I opened the door, no customers and seemed like a slow day. The front desk person told me the prices and took my order down for pick up in a few days. The food was alright…nothing special and a little dry for my taste compared to other local spots. I probably wouldn’t order it again but service was good. I might have to come back and try other things.“

“The food tastes so delicious. This restaurant operates by a couple, they are so nice to customers. But they didn't hire any staff to take orders/packing the delivery/clean up tables, they do that all by themselves, which I totally understand because the owner told me it is very difficult to run a restaurant after a pandemic, it is impossible to earn any revenue if they hire staff. BTW, one of the best family restaurants in Millbrae San Mateo.“

“Social Eatery is a space that has 2 restaurants and 1 boba place all in one - Noodleosophy, Rice Monster, and Grapeholic. It’s very close to the Millbrae BART/Caltrain station (a 3-minute walk) and also has a pretty big parking lot??.There’s a screen near the entrance for people that are just ordering boba to-go. If you’re there for dine-in, they’ll lead you to some seats and you can order from all three places at the same time. Lots of seats for dine-in and there’s even a foosball table⚽️.Our table had a QR code for you to see the menu and order but they brought a tablet over for us to order. Not sure why but I have no issues with that??‍♀️.We ordered Beef Stew & Tendon (公公半筋半腩) and Pickled & Sliced Beef (知府酸湯肥牛).Took a little while for the orders to arrive (almost thought that they were preparing everything from scratch and cutting a whole cow open on the spot?), and there were kids running around in the place so it was pretty loud?. But after tasting the food, I have to say that the wait was worth it! The servings were pretty big, and the broth was very flavorful. Wasn’t too overly seasoned and the texture of the noodles were great.“

“Went for lunch on Sunday at 1pm after it was recommended by a friend for having good dimsum. We thought there would be a wait but there were a few open tables so we were seated immediately. The service was attentive and the food came quickly. Go for the food, not the ambiance. The menu isn't as extensive than a dimsum restaurant, but we appreciated the variety. Our favorites: * String beans - crisp and flavorful!* passion fruit aloe green tea - refreshing! * pork belly with charcoal buns - my son who loves Peking duck said that he would rather get these now. Not sure if the charcoal buns are supposed to taste different than normal bao - they tasted the same to us. * braised beef noodle soup with wontons - delicious shrimp wontons and a very beefy broth. * pan fried soup dumplings - tasty filling and lots of soup to slurp up. Next time we would skip: * cucumbers - too vinegary. Seems like they may have accidentally poured too much vinegar in our serving. At least that's my hope. * beef kimcheese rice - more tomatoey than kimchee flavored. * XLB trio - couldn't really tasty the truffle flavor. I wish we could order just the crab ones. The others weren't that amazing.“

Set D is the mini chow fun with a milk congee; Set I is the boat congee with a Chinese donut and a small dish of fried squid $10. I would recommend not get the milk congee if you never had it before. As for the set D, there are better places for congee. The outstanding dish was the small fried squid. It had this mild spicy powder that made it work. Service was slow but the kitchen was fast.“
