Went for lunch on Sunday at 1pm after it was recommended by a friend for having good dimsum. We thought there would be a wait but there were a few open tables so we were seated immediately. The service was attentive and the food came quickly. Go for the food, not the ambiance. The menu isn't as extensive than a dimsum restaurant, but we appreciated the variety. Our favorites: * String beans - crisp and flavorful!* passion fruit aloe green tea - refreshing! * pork belly with charcoal buns - my son who loves Peking duck said that he would rather get these now. Not sure if the charcoal buns are supposed to taste different than normal bao - they tasted the same to us. * braised beef noodle soup with wontons - delicious shrimp wontons and a very beefy broth. * pan fried soup dumplings - tasty filling and lots of soup to slurp up. Next time we would skip: * cucumbers - too vinegary. Seems like they may have accidentally poured too much vinegar in our serving. At least that's my hope. * beef kimcheese rice - more tomatoey than kimchee flavored. * XLB trio - couldn't really tasty the truffle flavor. I wish we could order just the crab ones. The others weren't that amazing.

This is an awesome small dim-sum restaurant located in the little plaza right next to In-N-Out and the train station in Millbrae. We originally called to place a reservation for 7pm on a Saturday night but the person who answered told us not to worry as they were not busy at all and to just come in whenever. Ah! They definitely deserve busier nights - they are very good! We came in at 7pm as expected and we were the only ones in the restaurant, so we were seated and served immediately. The spot eventually filled up as the night went on.We ordered the full hainan chicken, the XLB TRIO (original, crab, & truffle), bbq pork buns, typhoon ha gao, pork belly w/ charcoal buns, and Chinese broccoli. I love typhoon ha gao and I normally order it whenever I go to dim sum spots, and theirs was really good. The original and truffle XLB were delicious too! (Sadly I was not a fan of the crab - it tasted very off to me, but my MIL really enjoyed it.) I'd love to come back to try the other soup dumplings and regular siu mai. For the price, this place takes the cake - there are many other dim sum spots on the peninsula that will charge $10-12 for three pieces of ha gao but here you can get them for $5.50 - SUPER, SUPER WORTH!

There are so many good spots in the Bay Area for dumplings. For me, these dumplings were not well flavored. Pass for me.

If you are from SF like we are you will be disappointed. This is sort of mock Asian food. But if you want better than Panda it’s ok.

I came on a Saturday during lunch time and it was somewhat busy. My party got lucky with a table and we were seated immediately. The interior is not the biggest but it seems to seat around 30. The style is nice and modernized. Hainan Chicken (Full) 8.5/10 - It tasted great but this is all you get in the dish along with sauces. There are no other additions such as rice or peanuts. I would get it again, but maybe in an order with other additionals.Typhoon Ha Gao 10/10 - This was so good, it was crunchy and tasty. I'm not sure what those flakes were but it was really good with the ha gao and especially with the Hainan chicken. Felt like this added flavor to anything it touched! If I'm in the area I would absolutely come back, except I might not reorder the full Hainan chicken and instead something else. I would recommend the full chicken if you have a bigger party with other food too.

Food was decent. Not the best, but it was good. Staff was excellent. Small, crowded and noisy environment.Parking: Next to In-n-out Burger so it was different to get in and out of a parking spot.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes

Kimchi fried rice was more sour than expected. Pan fried dumplings were good but nothing crazy. The pork Xiao long bao was very ginger-forward.

Nestled in the heart of Millbrae, Stick and Steam is a hidden gem that promises a delightful and memorable dining experience. From the moment I walked through its doors, I was captivated by the inviting ambiance and the tantalizing aroma of sizzling flavors wafting through the air.The ambiance at Stick and Steam is warm and inviting, featuring modern decor with a touch of rustic charm. The soothing color palette and comfortable seating create a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a meal with family and friends. The star of the show at Stick and Steam is undoubtedly the food. The menu is a delightful fusion of Asian flavors, showcasing a range of delectable options for both meat lovers and vegetarians. The restaurant specializes in skewers, and the variety of choices is simply mouthwatering. From succulent meat options like tender beef, and juicy chicken to the skewers.

I am surprisingly a fan of this random dim sum restaurant near the airport. The steamed rolls are fresh, and deliciousness in a box! I never had a beef shumai and it's a game changer . The pork shumai has some kind of shiitake mushroom in it and it's a very distinct flavor. Everything was bomb dot com and tastes like it wasn't frozen and steamed. Tastes home made !

I've always enjoyed this place. Menu isn't huge but has great variety, still many options. Nice people. Offered me water while waiting for my to-go order.
