“This is a cute neighborhood restaurant that i would drive a long way to eat at! The food and service are both excellent, and you cant beat that sweet atmosphere! A a gem of a find!”
“I was very excited to find Gherkins Sandwich shop while on a week long trip to HMB. As a vegetarian we usually get stuck with the same repetitive sandwich options when going to delis, but I was ecstatic to see that most of their sandwich options could be made vegetarian by substituting the default protein with tofu.I got a number 19 - Cal Fire with tofu which had honey mustard sauce, avocado and cheese (I switched the pepper jack for swiss). My husband got a #20 - The Sheriff with tofu, which had a Frank's Red Hot sauce. I loved the whole gherkins on the sandwiches! The biggest drawback for us is that the sandwiches were very messy to eat. The tofu ended up being cubed, so the sandwiches started falling apart instantly. I think it would probably be better if the tofu was cut into slabs if possible. I also think some extra seasoning on the tofu would be great. The sauces on our sandwiches were also a little runny, which kind of added to the messy-ness.We had gotten chips but didn't end up eating them because we were so full after the sandwiches. Overall a good option for lunch, but I would have preferred if the sandwiches were a little easier to eat.”
“We, 2 people, ordered cigar-shaped pastry, gyro plate, grilled vegetables and künefe.Pastry was too salty for me.All others were great. Ingredients were not cheap. I have tried many Mediterranean restaurants. I was tired of cheap tomato and lettuce in other restaurants. First time I got real lettuce here. Presentation was great.Service was great too.We liked it so much so we ordered food to go for tomorrow. What else do you care for? We paid $72 + tip, which is fair.”
“Food was delicious, highly recommend. We were in a town for a conference and we ate here twice for a three day trip! Loved the nachos, chowder, lobster rolls and tacos!”
“Mazra overall 10/10Double kebab plate for only 20$ is crazy. You get 2 mouthwatering skewers, and 2 solid sides. I got 3 pieces of dolmas and french fries. It is a one-of-a-kind restaurant ⭐️”
“Probably one of the freshest seafood spots in Half-moon Bay and will not run you $$$$. Massive lobster roll with sal for $20 with fresh oysters and Cod that tastes amazing with a nice view. I recommend this spot since it has a good amount of seafood options.”
“I have eaten here four times now and every meal is incredible, and for an airport hotel restaurant, truly unbelievable. The hotel is lovely in every way, miles beyond the alternatives. But the restaurant is one of the reasons I stay here whenever I have a morning flight. Tonight had the lobster miso bisque, and the seared scallops, and I don't think I've had better versions of either in a decade. The scallops and the lobster were as tender as they could ever be and the flavors were amazing. Service and ambience is great too. They have wines by the glass that you normally must pay for a bottle - and a first rate twist on a Paper Plane if you're a cocktail person. Be sure to get a table by the window to watch the planes...”
“Amazing food, wonderful people!I ran across the BLT Lunch Truck today, and it was like finding a hidden gem! ?I had the vegan burger with the side of chips and an Arnold Palmer (green tea & lemonade style), and everything was so fresh and clearly made with intention - from the herbs on the chips to the homemade bun.I will absolutely be coming back!”
“Arrived by car 30 minutes before closing. We had a parking spot right in front of the taco truck on the street. I found this place searching Google seafood restaurants near me! It was to my surprise that it was a taco truck! No worries, we ordered the tacos dorados. They come in a plate of four for $14. They had avocado and the best tasting shrimp combined with the crunch of the taco shell! So good. Came with red salsa that turned up the heat. The tacos were like the kind of food that you keep eating even though you are full!! I felt great after four, but honestly could have had another four! There are plastic chairs to sit down, but it's way better to take the food to go. I'm glad Google suggested this place, perhaps it was the best seafood near me!”
“When you arrive before opening and see a line that's usually a good sign, and it was no exception here. The food was amazing and the staff were super friendly. We mainly got the hamburgers / special burgers and the herb salad. However, we'd love to try the other items on the menu as everything else had was tasty.”
“Great food with a nice setting. Dining area beautifully decorated and noise level not too high where we couldn't carry on conversations. Overall sn enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this restaurant!”
“1st time I went, I had seen the price on their online menu. When they rang it up, they upped the price. OK, I told em and accepted they did not set up their website and I learned not to use that pricing.Their Linguine with Clams and pear salad have brought me back a few time. The best Linguine and Clams anywhere.Pacifica is not loaded with good restaurants. Staff is nice, food comes quick and is great for either dine in, or take out.”
“The mocha is one of the best mochas I've had. Not too bitter from the espresso shots, but not too sweet either. The shakshuka was zesty and flavorful with a slight kick.”
“Recognize that the burgers here are more about the toppings/add-ons than the beef. Nice, pillowy buns. Fries and onion rings are well-fried and good even when they cool down. Massive sizes for everything - even a small side should be enough to share.”
“Amazing sandwich speakeasy! Literally never had anything I didn't like. From the tortas to the tuna melt... you won't be disappointed. ORDER ONLINE. Do not show up trying to get a sandwich, much as they would like to help its a small shop and they get busy...so do yourself a favor and order online... you'll be happy with it! (Don't miss the banana bread for a treat).”
“Heard about this from.my granddaughter. We love Chinese food and hadn’t found a place near us in Daly City. This was just delicious. We had 9 different dishes and everyone of them was fabulous. Cooked to,order, fresh, lightly battered, crispy. Judy was so friendly and enjoyable. Treat yourself to an affordable delicious meal. We are looking forward to,our next visit. They do not have their liquor license yet, so we took our own wines. Very accommodating and so so good!1”
“Came here for a friend's birthday. I wish there was more information online about their menu, but overall, we had a fantastic time, enjoying both the wine and food. The staff was incredibly helpful, especially for those of us less familiar with wine. The quaint, small setting adds to the charm, and I'll definitely return. It's a lovely spot to unwind and savor a glass of wine.”
“Love the knowledge of Joey! She made this delicious cold brew oat milk with mocha sauce. It was divine. I highly recommend this little place. It’s not a sit down cafe but a roaster with a side area. Thank you!”
“Food and exceptional service is definitely worth the money. Yes, it’s pricey, but understandably so. I always tip generously because they deserve it. Small space, so it feels cramped.”
“We had the most amazing service experience at Sky Cafe!! Everyone we interacted with was courteous, friendly and welcoming. We accidentally ended up staying long after closing on a Friday night and yet no one rushed us as we completed our meal. Instead, the staff were incredibly accommodating and understanding. I sincerely appreciate how well they took care of us and I hope everyone gets the opportunity to visit this gem of a place soon! Thank you Sky Cafe!Vegetarian options: Rare vegan/ vegetarian spot!”
“I was recommended to get the dirty chai latte and the ube tres leches cake. The ube tres leches cake is hands down one of the best things I had ever! The dirty chai latte was meh. Highly recommend their baked goods! There isn’t much place to sit and eat though.”
“Food was excellent. Love the ginger tea. Prices are very reasonable for fresh delicious food. Don't forget to order the strawberry crepes. We will definitely go back.”
“Been coming here for 5 years and every time I have amazing food and great service. The lunch specials are super tasty and a great value for all the variety and portions.”
“This spot is such an amazing find. The food is delicious, the staff are all incredibly kind, and it's a very casual restaurant to grab lunch or dinner. This restaurant has entered my rotation of post-workout dinners when I just want something tasty and filling. I usually order the Erbil Kebab, which comes with rice and salad. It's a huge portion for one person, but a little small to feed two. You certainly get a ton of value for the price! Also... the toum (garlic sauce) is addictive--You've been warned!”
“My girlfriend and I came here because it was the highest rated wings in this part of South San Francisco. We walked past the place twice because we couldn't find it. Their sign is barely noticeable. We found it because of the address. The wings are incredible and the beers were equally good. Highly recommended. I just wish they had a better sign out front so people could find the place.”
“I work upstairs and this cafe has everything you could possibly want and need. Breakfast foods, coffee, boba, sandwiches, and desserts. Service is always quick and the ladies who work there are extremely nice. The mochi muffins are AMAZING. The chicken pesto is my favorite. You can't go wrong with any of the smoothies, boba, or coffee. Boba is a bit on the sweet side so I always ask for less sugar and they're able to accommodate me. So happy to have them in the building!”
“Wow the food is great. Such a surprise find. This restaurant is very close to another Sichuan restaurant and it's right next to a bbq restaurant so make sure you are going to the correct entrance.I recall coming to this place when I meant to go to the Sichuan restaurant so I left last time and I think it was a mistake to try this restaurant only after so many years. This restaurant is amazing. I don't know whether this changed owners but wow the food tastes so good. It's probably my favorite Chinese spicy food restaurant in the Peninsula now.The food portions are small but the prices reflect that and it's nice to see prices didn't go crazy for once.Even the way the ingredients are chopped can tell that the ones in the kitchen paid attention because the pieces are cut properly as opposed to other Chinese restaurants such as Wonderful (they should train the kitchen helper who to chop stuff there).Everything we ordered tastes great. I liked the frog dry pot. I also liked the spicy fish. The pork liver also is tender and flavorful. I really can't find any fault in terms of food here other than maybe presentation but who cares when they taste good. Even white rice tastes good and goes well with spicy food. The service is good and quick. The place is small but has decent number of tables. I don't recommend huge parties due to the space but I highly recommend this restaurant.”
“You can't go wrong with Teanis! In my honest opinion these sandwiches are far much better than little Luca. The service is always quick but thoughtful. Although they are always busy I receive my food in a timely manner. I also enjoy that this is a small business & the home feeling the shop's decor brings. These sandwiches are ginormous and one sandwich can easily feed 2-3 people. I always have two meals out of one sandwich.”
“It’s our favorite Boba anywhere in & around the Bay Area! The FRIENDLIEST staff [they even helped jumpstart my car once!], the best environment [smack dab in the beauty of Pacifica w/a wonderful community garden walk to the ocean just across Highway 1], & the very yummiest boba [try Rainbow Road with regular & bursting boba combo!]. Help keep this Boba spot thriving by making the trip & stopping by!”
“Thanks Karen for making our dinner an amazing experience. We were able to taste the most authentic and delicious Peruvian dinner thanks to your recommendations. Our experience wouldn't have been the same had you not been there. Thanks!”
