I don't know about the other guy but I don't think prices are at all high. I always get a good meal for my dollars worth. If you ask me its the best filipino food in town. I too was laid off in 09 and had to leave SD because a previous employer wanted me to run a store in Palm Desert. I wish I could have packed Valerio's in my luggage because there is no filipino food out here. Whenever I'm in town I always try to make a trip to my favorite turo-turo for some good eats!
It costs $10 gas to make a round trip to this Valerio's.Chicken empanada (6 pcs) - 5 star. Very delicious! Halo-halo (2 orders) - 5 star. Authentic Filipino halo-halo.Service from Rose - 5 star. Thank you.Menu is extensive. And lots of desserts and breads.Parking - easyClean restaurant.I would eat here everyday if I lived closer.
