“Excellent service, atmosphere and perfect for date night. Excellent French cooking. Everything was delicious! While their tasting menu was absolutely stunning, ordering from the regular (and the special) menu would be more flexible. Portions were surprisingly generous.“
“Select led this place to Celebrate my birthday. Food was good and our server was very helpful and provided us with excellent service. The noise was a little too loud for my liking since is a small place and they crammed a bar in the front entrance of the restaurant. Tables are also too close together and we can hear others' conversations.“
“Great menu with a variety of selections. Everything we've had here has been great. Only complaint is we had made a reservation and they didn't have a table ready... and wouldn't for at least 15-30 minutes. We decided to sit outside even though it wasn't our preference.“
“Amazing view, nice shakes, okay burgers. If you are planning to watch the sunset here, consider getting here 45 minutes or so before, since there will be a line for parking, a line to order, and you should wait for some tables to be available. If you are 2+ people, you can parallelize the parking line and the ordering line.“
“Always love the food and ambiance. Servers are always nice and friendly.A hostess named Mia who stands at the podium is a terrible first impression for the restaurant. She’s rude - gave us an annoyed look because we asked to sit inside. Told us to “stand over there” and wait—— a server had to come out and tell her to seat us already, because there were plenty of open tables.I’ll never understand how a restaurant puts so much work into everything and then let some untrained child ruin their efforts right from the first impression.“
“if my dad asks where I want to go for dinner, I will always pick this place. Me and my dad both skipped lunch for us to order a lot of food. For an appetizer we ordered the Seared Salmon Sushi. The order came out super quick and I loved how they seared garlic on top of the salmon!! I ended up finishing it all ?. For entrees, I ordered the Ravioli and it was delectable. The shrimp tasted amazing and the truffle sauce was excellent! My dad ordered the Sea Bass and it came with lots of veggies! Loved the freshness of the sea bass. Finally, we ordered the apple pie for dessert. The pie tasted so warm and home cooked. It reminded me of my grandma’s cooking. The ice cream added a nice coldness to the pie. Im not a sweet person but it was scrumptious!! I always come back and I am looking forward to my next visit!!“
“The food and atmosphere was incredible…burrata, meatballs and Mary’s chicken are fantastic. The burger and ceviche is also incredible. A not to miss spot right on the water. Savannah is also incredible with beer and wine recommendations as well as food knowledge. Highly recommend.“
“Service was great - there was more than one person assisting with clearing our table, wiping off the crumbs. The view of the marina was beautiful. Even though they technically don't have a kids menu, they accommodated us with a few options for our toddler. The food was delicious especially the cauliflower appetizer.“
“I have had one of the best meals in a few years. The fried octopus was sublime. The spicy tuna, good. The meat perfect. The chocolate dessert rich but very very good. Everything was perfect and this is going to be one of my favorite restaurants. The bill was honest. Absolutely “
“This is such a cute and cozy restaurant on Balboa Island, great to stop in and grab a bite to eat after a walk around the island. The Stuffed Zucchini Flowers, RH Mac & Cheese and the Short Rib Fettuccine were the favorites of the evening by far. We could have just ordered doubles of these dishes and been in bliss. The shrimp and scallop curry risotto and chicken pot pie, for my taste were a bit bland; however, the rest of my dinner party did not agree and for them, the chicken pot pie was up there with the three favorites of the evening.“
“Those who know, know. The RIBS here are absolutely next level. Brisket and sausage are solid as well. What surprised us are the sides and unique flavored pickles. Very nice blend of traditional styles with Korean influences and there is a lot of love in the execution at Rib Bro.“
“I always liked this cafe for their breakfast and lunch menu. So I thought I'd take my granddaughter here for a breakfast, she really likes this place too. She ordered the pancake special with a side of hash browns and extra egg. So much food she took some home. I had the the veggie skillet, so delicious, with a side of one pancake. Oh my goodness, that one pancake was eight dollars! The tab for our breakfast for was over $70 and damm that a lot. I know prices have gone up, but it's gonna be a while before I go back.“
“Celebrating Christmas Eve Brunch at the Mayor's was incredible. Not only did they have the largest selection of top-quality foods, but their service was fantastic! It was all you can eat, and it was hard to stop devouring plate after plate. They had really refreshing iced tea with rose water in it. I didn't expect to see an ice sculpture as their centerpiece. I hope to come back again soon, as it was quite the experience.Vegetarian options: A lot of great optionsKid-friendliness: They offered a reduced price for kids, and they loved the experience!“
“Wandering for several hours with my daughter-in-love, her newborn and her 2 year old we were ready for dinner. Wilma's not only offered us a window, but a back cozy seating so mama could nurse and the 2 yr old could be free to chat. The food was delicious. I shared a chicken nacho with my grandson and my daughter had the sourdough bread chowder. The entire staff were quick to assist when needed and offered great service. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable with the beautiful table clothes. A must see and visit when wandering in Balboa Bay.Sadly no food pictures as a toddler kept me busy.“
“Every trip to Tommy Bahama in Newport Beach is a win. They've got this chill vibe that makes you feel welcome right away. What really got me last time was when I was feeling off, ordered soup, and they tossed in some bread and a note that hit the spot. It’s those small things that show they’re actually paying attention. The food's always good, straightforward without trying too hard. But it’s the little extras and the vibe that keep me coming back. If you're in Newport Beach, it's worth stopping by. They manage to make each visit feel like they're glad to see you, which is pretty rare.“
“Valentine’s Day at Sol Grill was nothing short of magical. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with warmth and charm. The ambiance was perfect for a romantic evening, with dim lighting, and a cozy atmosphere that instantly set the mood.”The food and service was fantastic, with attentive staff who anticipated our every need without being intrusive.Overall, our experience surpassed all expectations. It was the perfect setting to celebrate love and indulge in outstanding cuisine. We left feeling not only satisfied but also deeply grateful for the memorable evening we shared. We can’t wait to return and create more beautiful memories at this charming gem.“
“I have been going to Mariposa for a long time and love everything about the restaurant. But this time when I opened the menu, there were popover flakes all over the menu. I overlooked that I guess. But when I was served the chicken consommé, the plate was dirty. That's so unlike the restaurant. I'm hoping in the future, they keep the place cleaner than this experience.“
“The name did not sound promising and the location is hidden behind the car park of another restaurant - but despite our trepidation, this place turned out to be excellent for dinner. I had an excellent Reuben sandwich and my wife had plenty of gluten free options to choose from. Service was friendly.“
“We ate here twice on our trip .. Food was fantastic, everyone in our group loved what they ordered. Didn't take long to get our food. Staff was exceptional, very very friendly and super nice! Little difficult to find at night, kinda hidden but well worth it!“
“Amazing. Ordered the Shrimp for the protein. Side of roasted Broccoli with seasoned bread crumbs and parmesan cheese. The very fresh fruit bowl consisting of grapes ( sliced in half) a few segments of very sweet tangerine and pineapple as a delightful finish.Oh yes; and the encore... The cookie and lemon cake..My wife and I will be back.“
“Dinner (biscuits, filet mignon) was delicious and the atmosphere was very convivial and relaxing. But the highlight of the evening was Amanda, who seems to genuinely care about her work and the people she encounters every day, and who made our evening with her contagious smile. Thank you Amanda! Hope you remember us when you see this.“
“Loved my brunch experience! Clarissa was our waitress and she was so nice and attentive! The brunch prices include bottomless champagne, but I called a few days early because I wasn’t going to drink and they told me I could order mocktails instead!“
“We loved this place and went back three days in a row!Great selection of delicious food, all the alcohol you'll ever need and good coffee.Location is ideal, right by the pier and the beach, and a great spot to watch the sun go down.Buzzing atmosphere and very friendly staff and customers every time we visited.Awesome!!Kid-friendliness: Safe for kids and good food options“
“A great burger stand with a great staff, and great food. One of the best burger and salad combo we had. Everyone was working with a smile at their faces, fast, and attentive. The burger was perfectly cooked, the salad was way better than expected, not using burguer ingredients, but actual salad stuff. Very tasty. Please come by and try for yourself!“
“We ordered the pistachio encrusted salmon from the special menu. Wow what a wonderful choice. We started with a delicious salad, full of cheese and chickpeas and tomatoes and cucumbers and artichokes. My husband ordered the angel hair pasta with salmon. He thinks that might’ve been the best pasta he’s ever had The spices and the freshness. It all worked so well together to create an unforgettable dish. The competent service and honest, caring to make the dining experience excellent without being intrusive, help to make this wonderful experience. Because the night was cool, we were hesitant about sitting on the patio. However, the heat lamps kept it toasty, and we loved being on the beautiful serene patio. We were here once before and ordered takeout. We were very impressed with how great the takeout food was. It made us want to come back and actually eat at the restaurant. It was a great decision. We encourage you to try this gem.Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible“
“Tony helped me and was awesome, the pizza ? was absolutely ? delicious ?, I hadn't been there in a long time I've always liked it there but I forget how good it is and now I just want more to be honest it was wonderful they even gave me a little bag of garlic bread knots the place was clean and well kept everybody in there was working hard everything was well stocked it smelled a wonderful and I couldn't have asked for anything more I've worked at two different Pizza places in years past and I have appreciation and respect, they were on top of it and I look forward to going back thanks guys!!Parking: Nooo problemKid-friendliness: Absolutely ?“
“Bluewater Grill is the best place for seafood in Orange County. They have a great variety of fish and shellfish; the service is wonderful, and they have free corkage. My wife and I dine here 2 to 3 times a month and are neveer disappointed. We had two of our favorites. She had the baked Haddock with scalloped potatoes and asparagus only had them serve it with the Lemon Caper Burre Blanc which is a fantastic sauce over fish. I had the steamed clams and mussels, which I usually alternate with the Cioppino (which is the best) and the Chipotle blackened swordfish over dirty rice. Absolutely wonderful. The servers are some of the best. Friendly, helpful and since we eat here a lot, most will stop by and say hello. We love this restaurant.“
“THIS IS THE BEST STEAK AND SERVICE I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!You can cut this filet mignon with a fork!Every single bite was a delightful taste sensation! ?And our server, Mavie, was outstanding! Ask for his section, and when he asks any questions, just say "Do it the way YOU would do it!" Everything he did was perfection! From the Octopus appetizer, to the steaks, to the asparagus! Everything was perfection!I'll be back soon for more amazing meals! ??My hats off to the chefs as well! Amazing, amazing, amazing!EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING!“
“Overall beautiful place, however, some guests were rather loud and we didn't expect that level of vocality in such an establishment as it took from our experience. We were hoping for a more quiet atmosphere so we can enjoy each other's company, and we simply didn't get that.“
“Sounds delicious! Here's a review:"The Children Coop is a delightful restaurant bar offering a cozy ambiance and a diverse menu to satisfy any craving. Their Taco Tuesday specials are a highlight, with flavorful and generously portioned tacos that keep patrons coming back week after week. Whether you're in the mood for breakfast, appetizers, or a hearty meal, they have you covered with a variety of options to choose from. The service is attentive and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable dining experience. If you're looking for a place to unwind with delicious food and drinks, The Children Coop is definitely worth a visit."“
“We stopped here with our dogs after a day at the beach. Pretty good food and beer! We had the fish tacos and the fish and chips. Both were solid. The patio was perfect to sit outside and enjoy the weather and the server helped us immediately. Bartender was cool too. Try this spot!“
“WOW. No words, came here this last Friday for a company event that our bosses rented out the place for and the food was SPECTACULAR!! We complained that we should've brought to go boxes because the food was mouthwatering, fresh, and constantly coming out of the oven! The wait staff was incredibly nice and easy going, but beyond that made sure our glasses were never empty. The best sauv blanc! Cant wait to come back!!“
“Located downtown balboa island. Minimal indoor and outdoor seating. Street parking only. Order at the register, and they bring it to you when ready. Casual atmosphere. Fast, but not so friendly service. Maybe it's because they were busy. When we went in Dec 2023, they had a burger /fries / beer deal for $25. That dish came with a pickle spear, too. Nice because their regular burgers and sandwiches don't come with fries - only other side options. Added a small clam chowder, which came with no spoon. Split all between wife, toddler, and I. Obvi toddler didn't drink the beer, although he did reach for it many times. Everything was great! We were full and there were no leftovers. Totaled just under $40 including tax and small tip.“
“Had the Butchers Love. Perfectly cooked excellent quality steak. Either the small end of tenderloin or spinalis of ribeye. Had a perfect char crust, sea salt, and a mild amount of chimichurri type sauce brushed on. Came with grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes. Had with a glass of Chapellet Mtn Cuvée. Definitely the best meal I had over a long weekend visiting Newport Beach .“
“EXCELLENT SERVICE ! My wife and I were doing some shopping at Fashion Island late on Friday afternoon. After finishing up our shopping at around 4.30pm we were thinking of heading outside the mall to grab some dinner. BUT THEN ! We really don't know the eateries here at all but we have had good dining experiences at Bazille ( inside Nordstrom ). My wife liked my suggestion...why leave the mall for dinner and hit bumper to bumper traffic on a Friday afternoon. FOND MEMORIES ! In fact a few years back we enjoyed a sensational dinner at Bazille in La Jolla. My wife still remembers her Lobster Mac & Cheese and I totally loved my Seared Scallops. And dessert was sensational....hard to beat Chocolate Paradise Cake and Maple Apple Cobbler. FIRST TIME HERE ! So we arrived here around 4.45pm and Alexander the host gave us a warm welcome. First up we asked him to point us to the restrooms ? After that we settled at a comfy table away from the open entrance. Soon after a friendly server named Jeff stopped by to help us. We had been checking out the menus incl the dessert menu. THINGS CHANGE ! The menu was vastly different from our last visit to a Bazille location 2 years ago. I ordered a Clown Shoes "Galactica Socal Citra" West Coast Style IPA....something new and a Crisp Calamari Starter. Meanwhile my wife decided on a Roasted Turkey & Avocado Club Sandwich and I went with the Nordstrom Burger with Fries option instead of Salad. My ice cold can of beer and a chilled glass arrived courtesy of Jeff. The IPA tasted surprisingly good and was very refreshing ! Soon after my huge Crisp Calamari Starter hit the table...it looked pretty good and tasted alright. Before we knew it my wife's Roasted Turkey & Avocado Club Sandwich arrived followed quickly by my big fat Nordstrom Burger with seasoned French Fries. Around this time Giselle the manager dropped by to say hello. We mentioned some of the delicious items we had tried that were no longer featured on the menu...Giselle remembered the Lobster Mac & Cheese, Seared Scallops, Chocolate Paradise Cake and Maple Apple Cobbler....all gone ! My wife thought her club sandwich tasted pretty good and I didn't mind my burger with its huge beef patty ( I thought ). After reading the ingredients in more detail I saw that it was a Beyond Beef Patty....fake beef is not my thing. DESSERT ! Nothing really exciting or tempting on the dessert menu so we gave it a big miss. Being big Nordstrom fans it's such a shame the menu has been dumbed down in here !“
“Had an excellent experience their first time, I was there before when it was under a different name and Chef. The food we had the service we had the atmosphere was just outstanding!!! The service was impeccable. The food was over the top they were not skimpy either on the lobster my eggs Benedict haven't had tater tot since I was a kid they were great can't say more about it again for dinner.“
“Hostess was not friendly and seated us in 2 different undesirable seats- next to screaming kids inside, so we asked to be reseated outside- she put us in the sun, so we asked waitress if we could move to shady table- waitress was very accommodating, friendly and provided great service“
“ULTRA DELICIOUS LUNCH ! My wife and I are always on the lookout for a good feed someplace new. THIS IS IT ! We made a pretty big purchase at Bloomingdale's very recently...our first ever and it was a very enjoyable experience. So we thought their in-store restaurant might be worth trying. I looked up the lunch menu online and was pleasantly surprised with the selection...and the prices. On Saturday we arrived at Fashion Island around 1pm. After parking our wheels in the multi level parking garage we walked over here. It was a rainy day so their covered outdoor patio was shut down. We headed inside Bloomingdale's and asked a female sales associate where was the 59th & Lex Cafe ? The lady pointed to our right and there it was. We walked inside at 1.11pm and a friendly server named Hunter said those 2 tables against the wall are in a nice warm location. NOT MUCH GOING ON ! We may have been a bit early for the regular lunch time crowd...there were maybe 2 other diners in sight. Hunter brought us menus.....we wanted all the menus incl the very important dessert menu. We asked for iced waters and very soon 2 huge glasses of iced water arrived. THE MENU ! My wife spotted THE ULTIMATE GRILLED CHEESE ( mozzarella, cheddar, bacon, grilled tomato, sourdough ) includes your choice of Skinny Cut Fries, Steakhouse Fries, Potato Salad, House Salad, Caesar Salad. WHAT A LIST ! We asked Hunter if one was big enough to share...he suggested not. We ordered 2 x Ultimate Grilled Cheese Sandwiches.....mine with Steakhouse Fries while my wife took up an option for Asparagus Soup. Oh and Hunter gave us the option to add Caramelized Onions to our grilled sandwiches. YES PLEASE ! We also asked about Lattes and Cappuccinos..we could see a pretty decent espresso machine behind the cashier counter. Mmmm those 15 oz cups looked a lot bigger than what we wanted. FAST SERVICE ! Our beautifully presented lunch hit the table at 1.30pm. Everything looked very fabulous. The grilled cheese sandwiches were fully loaded and quite large....we could have shared. But gee they were delicious...the caramelized onions took it to the stratosphere. My huge potatoey Steakhouse Fries hit the spot and my wife really enjoyed her well made Asparagus Soup. TOO BAD ! We got though about half of our sandwiches. DESSERT ! They had a very nice selection. We chose the TRIPLE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE ( dark chocolate cake, milk chocolate mousse, white chocolate mousse ). We asked Hunter if he could knock out a couple of cappuccinos for us in smaller cups with 2% milk and Monin Hazelnut Syrup. NO PROB ! Before we knew it Hunter brought out 2 small cappuccinos which he made...they tasted very rich & creamy. Our nicely presented Triple Chocolate Mousse arrived soon after....and tasted totally delectable ! Towards the end of our lunch we had a lovely chat with 2 regulars...female vendors from Neiman Marcus. Martha and Robin were a couple of real life characters....aka Thelma & Louise. Lunch was great and our friendly server Hunter is in the top tier of servers !“
“We spent the first part of spring break in Newport Beach with our teen aged sons and their friends. We had some dietary considerations so wanted to find places to eat that were sensitive to nut allergies and tasty vegan dishes. West Coast Deli had some really nice reviews, and so we tried them and were very happily surprised that it was even better than expected! Manager Josh was super warm and helpful and sensitive to our needs, and the staff made some superbly tasty food! Great sourcing and recipes! All of the sandwiches were outstanding, and our hard to please vegan was very happy! I cannot recommend them highly enough! Go and check them out!Dietary restrictions: great vegan choices!“
“Such a beautiful place to have lunch! I went here for my birthday, and had the most stunning views of the harbor. The food was great, and I enjoyed their hot tea (it was chilly over looking the water). There is parking available in the shared lot- which makes coming here easier as parking can be challenging.“
“We love Ruby's! Especially this super special original location. We try to come in multiple times whenever we are in the area for a week or a month's time. The employees are fantastic! They are warm and friendly (even in inclement weather). They are so sweet to our children. They absolutely remember them even though I would not say we are technically regulars since our primary residence is currently out of state. I have been so impressed each and every visit. They always go out of their ways to ensure the kids have a great and memorable experience! This time they even gave the kids mini Mustang cobras to build out of cardboard & stickers with which they could decorate them. Thanks Ruby's for the fun and the positive vibes/great memories in the making. We truly love you guys (Melissa, Adrian, Victor & all the rest), and will continue to patronize this location every chance we get.“
“We were at the side for Valentines Day, we've been customers for years more than 20 as a matter of fact, so when my lovely wife commented about are meal she was attacked by other patrons, we are not spoiled children we are 60 yrs.old. her meal was fantastic salmon and mashed potatoes, I ordered the sirloin,I have eaten thousands of steaks, it was boot leather did not eat it or take it home, we love this place, the coconut shrimp appetizer was dreadful, cold over cooked and tough, ok bad night we will still come we love you guys but for a 240$ tab I thought the people of your place would appreciate the feedback. Those of you attacking my wife grow up. See you soon.R G“
“This charming diner exudes a nostalgic atmosphere with its quaint decor. The staff are delightful and welcoming. We enjoyed a straightforward breakfast from their menu. While not extraordinary, the food is satisfying, and the ambiance makes it a pleasant spot to start the day.“
“I had the mahi tacos which costed about $24 for two tacos with rice pilaf and black beans. I also had a well tossed but weird Caesar salad. The tacos were just ok. The mahi wasn't very flavorful and the slaw was just shredded cabbage - not a slaw. The rice was pretty weird but the beans were good. The restaurant has a view of the ocean between the peninsula and the mainland. Our server Ali was very nice and did a good job.“
“I must have passed this joint a million times when I've come to visit friends on the Newport Beach peninsula and Every time I pass this place when I'm on my motorcycle I can smell the burgers grilling and filling the ocean air with great burger aromas, this time I had to stop and I tell you it was one of the best decisions I've made all week. I ordered one of their pub burgers it's cooked to order, I had mine done medium well, and it was a great burger it comes with cheese and I added a couple of slices of bacon and boy I'm telling you it was one of the best burgers I've had lately it came with fries, (they could have been crisper) but still ok, I washed it all down with a cold Guinness. And I'm telling you I'll be back for sure, the staff is friendly and helpful, if you are in the neighborhood stop by here and grab yourself a great burger, they also have an incredible Menu full of pub food items. I can't wait to go back and try their wings and maybe one of their primerib sandwiches. ?Tell them Fred sent you.“
“We like staying at Newport Dunes because there is lots to do, and we can easily watch the kids play on the sand or ride their scooters behind the cottage. We bring our own fire pit. Flip side, it is expensive even off season, and the beach front cottages are cute, but small and vintage. Sofa sleeper not comfortable and very little in the kitchenette to cook with. I asked for a can opener and they brought me a wine cork screw. No oven cookware or sharp knives, or cooking utensils so byo. The kids love the 4' high loft, but you have to bring your own mattresses and bedding. The pool is nice and love the 2 jacuzzies. However, we only booked for one cottage night instead of two next fall because price seemed higher this year. I love the pizza and hamburgers sold by the beach and price isn't bad. Also I took kids 5, 6, 7 & 8 on the water park last year, and wouldn't do it again until they are much older. I had a hard time watching them all, and I couldn't even pull myself up on the platform. Great for older kids and young adults.“
“Hungry after a long night, I didn't get a picture until I had already started at it. I was having some stomach issues and didn't want anything to heavy. I figured the avocado toast would be a safe option. It was yummy, the bread was a bit dry. Had tons of very fresh avocado, probably as thick as the bread itself. Wish it came with some seasoning but I made do with the table salt and pepper. I also had some sausage links, they were juicy and huge. Cooked well and had that satisfying snap to them. The staff members where super friendly and the restaurant itself seemed updated and modern, as well as clean which is sometimes a rare luxury on a beach. My sister and my mom got breakfast burritos, they both only ate half and had to save the rest for later but thoroughly enjoyed them! Just a really big portion size. It was pretty expensive though considering what we got.“
“There are only 14 tables, but the staff were wonderful. The prices demand it but you will get attentive service. And the ambience is spectacular. You get to sit by a dock with water right next to you. It is a very romantic place. They don’t have any loud music which is great. Their wine list is extensive. And with the corkage being $75 may as well try their wines. The cuisine is French, which I love. The scallops were perfect. I did not like the gravy as much as it tasted overly sweet. The pork loin was only OK because it could be more tender and it was a little dry. The brioche bread pudding is good though I make it better. I loved the mushroom soup.“
