“Amazing view, nice shakes, okay burgers. If you are planning to watch the sunset here, consider getting here 45 minutes or so before, since there will be a line for parking, a line to order, and you should wait for some tables to be available. If you are 2+ people, you can parallelize the parking line and the ordering line.“
“So glad this place is still around. This place has so much nostalgia for me and I'm glad I can now share it with my own children. The burgers are still solid and the fries are always crispy. Don't forget to add the season salt and get a side of TK sauce. The egg bread bun is still the best part that serves as the right platform. No frills burger joint, always worth it when visiting Newport/balboa pier.“
“This is such a cute and cozy restaurant on Balboa Island, great to stop in and grab a bite to eat after a walk around the island. The Stuffed Zucchini Flowers, RH Mac & Cheese and the Short Rib Fettuccine were the favorites of the evening by far. We could have just ordered doubles of these dishes and been in bliss. The shrimp and scallop curry risotto and chicken pot pie, for my taste were a bit bland; however, the rest of my dinner party did not agree and for them, the chicken pot pie was up there with the three favorites of the evening.“
“Wandering for several hours with my daughter-in-love, her newborn and her 2 year old we were ready for dinner. Wilma's not only offered us a window, but a back cozy seating so mama could nurse and the 2 yr old could be free to chat. The food was delicious. I shared a chicken nacho with my grandson and my daughter had the sourdough bread chowder. The entire staff were quick to assist when needed and offered great service. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable with the beautiful table clothes. A must see and visit when wandering in Balboa Bay.Sadly no food pictures as a toddler kept me busy.“
“Wow, just wow! Obviously, we had to try the gyoza. I ordered the pork option (you can do chicken, pork, or 2 other options that I can't remember right now, veggie I think). You then have the option of choosing the sauce for the gyoza and there were so many options! I chose the teriyaki and the mango haberno, which ended up being my favorite. I also ordered the rocking salad, spring mix with Caesar dressing. I wasn't aware that it came with onions so there were really strong onion flavors in my salad, which I'm personally not a fan of so next time I'll make sure to ask for no onions. Otherwise, salad was fresh and dressing was ok. My husband ordered the steak sandwich and made me wish I had ordered it too. I had a bite, ok maybe two, and it was delicious. The steak was extremely flavorful and tender, not chewy at all. The slaw mix was fresh and a perfect compliment to the steak. The roll it came on was soft and melted with the steak. The lunch deal is awesome because it comes with the sandwich, a side (we got the fries which were really good) and a drink for $15! So not only was the food really good, everything was reasonably priced which is a rare find in this area. My husband's exact words were "wow, can I order this everyday?". I couldn't agree more! The location is right in front of the plaza to the left side. Parking is free for the first 15 minutes if you are just looking to pick up, or they validate parking also! They have some games inside so it's worth eating in. I will say we tried to order their food the first time through Grubhub but the menu was wrong on there. They called me from the restaurant to let me know and my order was completely refunded through Grubhub. Just great customer service!“
“The Galley Cafe is a local old school diner that's been around for longer than I have! It's been family-owned since 1957 and it's only open from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 This is a gem of a classic breakfast & lunch spot that has about 30 tables as well as counter seating that serves solid & no frills food. I love the breakfast burrito with pico de gallo. Expect a waiting list on the weekends, but it always hits the spot. It's right next to the marina and the service is prompt and friendly. Friendly regulars and neighborhood vibes! I love the Galley Cafe!“
“A great burger stand with a great staff, and great food. One of the best burger and salad combo we had. Everyone was working with a smile at their faces, fast, and attentive. The burger was perfectly cooked, the salad was way better than expected, not using burguer ingredients, but actual salad stuff. Very tasty. Please come by and try for yourself!“
“Great chicken place, simple menu, and good options. Ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with onion rings, and best of all, I had the choice of light or dark meat. The spice level of the chicken was medium hot, I wanted to enjoy the sandwich before I try something too hot. They do offer three levels of heat. The slaw with sliced pickles on top of the chicken were just right, a little creamy. The onion rings were perfect, light breading, and not greasy. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Nice and clean inside and they have two small tables with chairs out front. Be aware, this is not fast food, this will take a little time but worth it.“
“I bought an ice cream and it was one of the best soft served ice creams I've tried. Then later I bought a cheeseburger, I had to wait a little but it was worth it cause the burger was super good, I also tried some of they're chili cheese fries, they had too much chili and too little cheese but that was to my personal preference. Overall really good, Highly recommend“
“This charming diner exudes a nostalgic atmosphere with its quaint decor. The staff are delightful and welcoming. We enjoyed a straightforward breakfast from their menu. While not extraordinary, the food is satisfying, and the ambiance makes it a pleasant spot to start the day.“
“We love Ruby's! Especially this super special original location. We try to come in multiple times whenever we are in the area for a week or a month's time. The employees are fantastic! They are warm and friendly (even in inclement weather). They are so sweet to our children. They absolutely remember them even though I would not say we are technically regulars since our primary residence is currently out of state. I have been so impressed each and every visit. They always go out of their ways to ensure the kids have a great and memorable experience! This time they even gave the kids mini Mustang cobras to build out of cardboard & stickers with which they could decorate them. Thanks Ruby's for the fun and the positive vibes/great memories in the making. We truly love you guys (Melissa, Adrian, Victor & all the rest), and will continue to patronize this location every chance we get.“
“Best Burger in the peninsula. Won't have it any other way. The Scotch Bonnet sauce and A1 is the combination of all combos. My go to spot for a Great Burger. Try the chips with the sauce you won't be disappointed. I have been eating Cassidy's Burgers with a Beer for as long as I can remember . I always recommend the burger there. It's the Best. Don't sleep on this spot. It's a local hang out and the staff is on it.“
“Love this islands so much. Service was great, per usual and Bartender Melissa suggested the new volcano burger and it was so good! Cooked perfectly, and the fries were so yummy. Also met new manager Marissa and she was so friendly. GM Chad must be running a tight ship! Would definitely suggest coming in for lunch or dinner !(:“
“booked a reservation on a busy night yet the service was still excellent! I asked for tartar sauce and spicy mayo and they delivered!! The french fries were so crispy, which I like. I ordered the chicken meatballs and spaghetti and it was delectable. My dad ordered the steak and asked for medium well but it was medium. However they had no problem of recooking the steak for him. Definitely bringing my family back!!Vegetarian options: They have a veggie burger“
“Nice surf beach bar atmosphere. We were here last weekend to hang out for lunch and some brew. I love the fish n chips here, Got my girly girl a burger and fries. I got the Fish nChip meal with some beer. They have a big alcohol selection in the bar. I had to not drink a whole lot when i am the driver to drive home. Food is excellent here. Staff are cool. I will try and make this a go to place of mine.“
“You would think that all of the Carl’s Jr.’s would be the same; but they’re not … this one on Campus at Von Karmon is THE BEST.The Senior Shift Leader, Yazmin, is one of the nicest and most helpful people that you’d ever want to meet.Five Stars + … they are better than any of the other Carl’s Jr.’s around.“
“I seriously just looked on here and saw three stars and I can't believe it. This place is the best Jack-in-the-Box. The food is always fresh really good. The service is great. The employees are really nice. To Blanca and the other gals. They're always so nice and friendly and I think they do a great job there. I don't understand the three star review. That's kind of ridiculous I mean this is Jack in the box, so you just want your food to be fresh and fast and it is.“
“Stopped by here for drinks. Got their famous truffle fries. But according to my bf, it's not comparable to how Tustin location makes it. The drinks were good. Nothing out of the ordinary. I think I wanna try their Tustin location. Staff were lovely.“
“Love, love love the spice level and the generous portions! If you're a classicist, go for the avocado toast -- who doesn't love avocado toast. The food is great, the service is friendly enough but the atmosphere is a little too strip mall.Recommend the Bombay Bowl, it's filling and has complex flavors. A smoothie is always another good choice.“
