Cato's is a longtime favorite of mine. The place has a rotating assortment of craft ale if you just want stop in for a brew. Staff is friendly, efficient even when they are busy. What separates Cato's apart is the the food. At first glance at the menu, it appears to be standard bar food. The Cato's kitchen has given everything on the menu it's own personal flair. Quality ingredients, freshly prepared make this a good, casual place for lunch or dinner.
Nice small patio area. Great beer on tap.To be honest i always pass on this place because it didn't look interesting from out side. I now regret that. They make a damn good sandwich. The steak sandwich was on point.
We had lunch with an old friend at Cato's this week. It opens at 11:30 in the morning, which is a big plus. The food was very good and the portions were very large. In addition, it features Pliny the Elder on tap.You order and pay for your drinks at the bar, and you order and pay for your food at the kitchen. A little inconvenient, but not much. The staff is very friendly.I wish I could have rated it four and a half stars, as it is better than a four-star restaurant but not quite a five-star rating. However, it's a very nice place for drinks and a pub lunch or dinner. I will definitely be back.
great low-key vibe, good food, & amazing beer selection. a real local's bar
Old school, nice and cozy. Great beer, i waited for this place to reopen during the shut downs. Although i do not live in California i come whenever i am in the area and its well worth the extra fare for transportation.
The burger was so good!!!! The fries so crispy! ^_^ looking forward to trying their other burgers and other items on the menu. The buffalo wings and nachos good as well!
I heart Cato's. Always pleasantly surprised by the kind service. Great beer selection and yummy fresh food.
Great atmosphere and great pizza! Definitely going back.
Awesome little spot. Great staff, great ambiance. Large outdoor area. Very accommodating. Derrik is an awesome and fun bartender!! ?
Cool atmosphere and staff. Not good food or prices
Last week was my first visit since pre-CoViD. Beer selection was excellent as usual. The front sun porch was roomy and comfortable. We didn't eat, so I can't comment on the food. Initials carved on tables is a nice touch.
Best bar pizza in town! Great low key vibe and nice staff :)
Good service, good food! Fun hangout.
Cato's is a neighborhood beer bar and restaurant. Their food is good, and there's plenty of it!They could improve their service to regulars and new patrons alike. Having a sufficient number of outdoor heaters would seem to be a no brainer, since during Covid there is no seating inside.Good food, pricey for pub grub, and could work on service
!! TL;DR - excellent COVID precautions, lovely patios, great food/beer, attentive service and dog friendly, worth waiting to get in to eat. !!Great ambiance, tasty beer, good food and COVID safe!I ate at Cato's last night as one of my first COVID outdoor dining experiences and was very pleased with how seriously they have taken COVID restrictions. You order inside at the bar. When we arrived no tables were available so we got a first beer and waited at a table in the back alley, the wait was about 30min. I feel the experience I had was well worth the wait time.We proceeded to the back courtyard for our food and the tables were well spaced, easily accessable and there were also lovely outdoor heaters. We ordered wings and a cesar salad and both were delicious, beer was wonderful and service kind, helpful and attentive.Cato's is also dog friendly which I love.If you are looking for a lovely little patio for outdoor dining and a beer while feeling safe in regards to COVID Cato's should be at the top of your list.
