Amazing to see more veg restaurants but our experience wasn’t too great. Really understaffed, long wait time, lots of stuff was out of stock (gf buns, pretzel bread, etc.) but we didn’t learn till after we got our food. The burgers were good though!Milkshakes are good, but ube tasted more like chocolate.

Food is absolutely amazing. Only downside is I have trouble with ordering online , it always says it’s unavailable & Google says their currently open yet I drove here and it’s closed Sad face ?

Hella over priced and not good at all. I don't feel inclined on making yelp reviews ever but this place was not good.

We had the Catalina Burger and loaded fries with the gluten free- everything was excellent! Great location, we had a nice sunny seat by the window and then owner Darren came over and chatted with us and double checked to make sure our order adhered our dietary restrictions.

A friend recommended this place, so I decided to stop by and get the Malibu Burger single, which tasted great! The bun had a great crisp, almost like it was toasted on the inside. The burger didn't taste overly greasy and it came with Impossible meat (though you can switch it for Beyond Meat, if you'd like). It wasn't too heavy, but I still had trouble finishing (I ate 3/4 of mine). Even though we got dine-in, the burgers were still wrapped in single-use packaging and all placed in a paper to-go bag. This means you likely save on carbon emissions because you're forgoing meat, but create carbon emissions from the single-use packaging and lack of compost bins. Overall, this is still probably more eco-friendly than your typical fast food chain. ECO NOTES (Dine-In)Note: The entire order came in a paper bag, so it's basically to-go. Compost Bins: Not available. Only two trash bins.Dine-In Dishware: Burger wrapped in paper (I'm guessing parchment paper to deal with heat)Napkins: Single-use disposable paper napkins/paper towels*Utensils: Plastic single-use utensils**Since these are in a holder, you can easily choose to bring your own (BYO).

I tried Malibu Burger for the first time after my sister kept recommending it to me. They have a variety of burgers so you're guaranteed to find something you like. I tried the Needy Meaty burger with a gluten-free bun and the Tasha sauce since I don't like my burgers spicy. The owner, Darren is so polite and professional. He stopped by several times to make sure we had everything and were enjoying our meal. He even had us try their new special cookie dough pancakes which were incredible!! I would highly recommend going here whether you're vegan or not. It's a must!

We ordered Malibu Burger, Catalina Burger, Lizard Salad, Kids Burger, Kids Nugget meals. Both Malibu burger and Catalina burger are good especially the Malibu! The salad with the “chicken” strips is good but the garlic dressing is VERY spicy. I wish they either give less sauce or have the sauce on the side. Kids burger is not that good. The sauce tasted funny. My kids ended up eating my burger. Lol.

Malibu’s burgers consistently over delivers when it comes to great food and customer service. I have been here a few times and this past time they were training a new hire. They apologized many times for the extend wait and compensated us and others who waited with a gift card. I have waited longer times at other places with less. We have never ordered something that wasn’t delicious. My only small complaint is the atmosphere is lacking compared to a lot of restaurants and now there is minimal seating due to a temporary closed area. But still, this is one place I will always be back.A great place for vegan and non vegan friends alike.

As a huge burger fan and all around burger-seeker (especially regular meat burgers), this is the best burger I've had in the Bay in years. You absolutely cannot tell that it's a vegan burger and the ingredients are incredible - the carmelized onions are insane and the love that is put into making them is obvious! We ordered just the standard Malibu Burgers and as I said above, the best burger I've had in years! Got a side of the Hella Hella fries but switched fries for tots and they were also insanely good. It did take a little bit for the food to come out, but I can tell the quality is exceptional with the time put into it and I appreciate the love in making the food. Finally, I chatted with the owner at the end and he was a super nice and laidback guy. So much dedication for the burger that I then decided I had to get the Ube milkshake to wash down all the amazing food. As I'm about to head out for a nice dinner tonight, I can't stop thinking about going to grab one of these burgers tomorrow for lunch too!

We were looking for a new plant based restaurant to try out in Oakland. We read the reviews and decided to give it a try.I had the Catalina Classic Burger and the Stadium Fries. The Burger was pretty good and filling (single) when combined with the fries. Overall, the $16 Burger is pricey. The Stadium Fries were a little soggy but, lots of garlic flavor!Parking: Sunday is easier to find parking on the street but, get there early.

Wow! Just wow! I’ve had my fair share of vegan or plant based burgers but this was my best experience so far.Came on a Friday at around 1:30pm and there was just one group ahead of us. So we missed the rush everyone talks about I guess. We got the Patti melt and Needy Meaty, and made them combos with a regular and a hella hella fries. And a black vanilla milkshake to wash it down. The burgers were amazing, distinct flavors, greasy as it should be. Special shout-out to the pretzel bun on the Needy. The milkshake was the bomb — so thick and creamy! We left so satisfied and craving to come back soon.Parking is always tricky in Piedmont, but the street is a fun walk. You can dine in but the setting is sparse, so taking to go in the cute burger box is the preferred option.Vegetarian options: Everything is vegan / plant-based! So awesome!Parking: It’s almost tough parking in Piedmont, just gotta try your luck or go further into the neighborhood and walk a few blocks
