Got REALLY lucky and found a parking spot three spaces up the street.. that is a BIG deal! The waffles with strawberries and whipped cream were to die for! Excellent potatoes! I just love the atmosphere.. got fixated on watching the aerial tram. ?

Cozy and welcoming environment in which to enjoy some classic American breakfasts. Good coffee, too. This place represents the great California weekend breakfast spot when you just *need* eggs, you know what I mean? It's Montclair, though, so it's a little "spendy."

It's okay....ish.Love the cozy and unique moody and whimsical interior but I swear they serve the TINIEST eggs I've ever seen this side of Pigeonville. Ironic since it's named Montclair "EGG" shop - don't you think?Listen, on cold or rainy days, it's a charming "lodge-like" space to hang out in. High on atmosphere with subdued lighting but the food though - uninspired to barely adequate...and those teeny tiny eggs....

Our neighbor breakfast/lunch spot. It’s a cute and cozy cafe offering a very large menu. They’re always very busy but they have a ton of seating so if there is a wait, it’s not long. Staff is friendly and quick, always on their toes!

It’s one of THEEEEEE BEST breakfast spots I’ve been to in an extremely long time. EVERY-THANG atmosphere, especially service and food deserves top ratings.Staff friendly and on point. I did not give the food five stars cuz I bit down on a small egg shell in my egg whites. I wanted to give a 4.5 on food… but there are no half stars lol

Really disappointed with this place. We had to wait over 40 minutes for a table, so I thought it was gonna be THE experience. However food was so disappointing, really plan, nothing special, small portions and a hot chocolate in a glass imposible to hold without burning yourself.
Egg Shop is a good breakfast restaurant, but I will be transparent in stating that I've had better breakfast food in Oakland. I tried the Eggs Juneau, Crab Cake Benedict, and a side of Crepes. The Eggs Juneau was my favorite. It essentially was a SmokedSalmon Benedict. The smoked salmon was flavorful and went well with the bland hollandaise sauce. The Crab Cake Benedict was just alright. I probably wouldn't get it again. I wish the crab cake was bigger and had more meat. It didn't meet my expectations for a crab cake. Each of these meals came with a side of home fries aka breakfast potatoes and I would give them a 9/10. I loved how hearty they were. I most definitely would not get the side of crepes. I've loved crepes since I was a child so I think of myself as a bit of a connoisseur of crepes, however these ones were bland and had no flavor even with the syrup on top. The customer service was great. The host and waiter were extremely kind. The ambiance was nice. Like neighboring businesses, it has the look of a cottage, but a bit more modern looking inside. It was quite busy when we arrived, however their portions are so small that you'll be in and out in no time. I would come back here, but I must be honest and say this restaurant wouldn't be my first pick.

Went to brunch and waited in the rain to get in. Totally worth it. We all shared bites of our dishes and drinks and everyone loved the food. Only dock I would give was that they (very politely) asked us to leave because they had a wait-list. Otherwise, magnificent!

Definitely fine, but not a destination. I really like Montclair and was nearby so I looked for a place offering breakfast foods, and this was the one I decided to go for after a nice nearby hike.Hostess was prickly. We came in with 10 people, which seemed to land as more of an inconvenience than something to be excited about. Not a huge deal, and we were seated soon enough, but I didn't like the "can you move so I can seat the people who came in behind you first, and then I'll get back to you?" Totally a practical approach, but the delivery was mildly unwelcoming. Our waitress couldn't have been any sweeter. She did a great job.Food was average. Enough options that are kid friendly. Hot chocolate comes out tepid, in plastic glass mugs, which is good for kids, too. Portion sizes are fine. Prices are high because of the location, not the food itself.Bathroom was pretty gross. If you're hungry and there isn't a wait, and you're nearby, it's totally fine. We got the chicken pesto crepe, the plan crepes (great for a toddler), the waffle with strawberries and whipped cream, and the breakfast tacos. Breakfast tacos were a little small to assemble everything that came with them, but I ate everything. Fruit cup that came with the crepe was extra good - really fresh.
Great experience, yummy food.
