We have been to Pucquio a few times and we love it. Carlos is an artist and his food is amazing. I am vegetarian and always ask for anything Carlos wishes to make for me. And every time I have thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The service is also excellent and staff is charming and friendly. Definitely on the top of my favorite places to go for a nice dinner.

The Lomo Saltado was DELICIOUS, but extremely salty. My husband and I both had headaches and felt dehydrated for two days after eating here. Our friends ordered the squid ink seafood version and raved about it. We ordered two different types of ceviche and while they were good, I didn't feel wowed. The yuca fries were ok (everyone else really liked the aioli, but I detected some sort of green chili taste that I'm personally not fond of) and I got the non alcoholic blue corn drink which started out with an unique taste which eventually grew on me. Given the prices (~$65/person including drinks -- and we were left still slightly hungry), I would have expected a better overall experience. The server was so extremely nice, but service was also extremely slow. They did not give us water until the end and we had a bit of trouble flaggng people down despite the restaurant being quite small. The indoors is very small, but they did build an outdoor popup area to accommodate COVID restrictions. One bummer for me was that the bathroom was in a shared courtyard. Not really fully within their realm of control, but I think if there prices were a bit more reasonable (is not $30/plate, but maybe low $20s with ceviches being under$18), I might forgive the saltiness and slow service, but I totally understand that they need to charge what they find fair. However, due to the plethora of other dining options -- particularly in that area -- is unfortunately unlikely that I will return.


Everything here tastes amazing. It is all made to order and worth the wait. The ceviches are hearty and fresh with an amazing leche de tigre that will have you shamelessly slurping it up off the bowl as you should. The lomo saltado is great, the rice that comes with it is delicious af. The chicharron (fried pork belly) is definitely the business. The fried yucca never fails. The desserts are wonderful. I haven't tried anything on this menu I have not liked. The chef is die hard, he is in that kitchen every day and night ive shown up to eat there. Chef definitely has a gift with the sazón here no doubt much respected and appreciated!

This is the best Peruvian food in California and even better than in Lima, Peru. Hands down to the chef Carlos who sources responsible fish, local produce and cooks like the very Gods!The ceviche mixto, chicharrón and lomo saltado are by far the best authentic dishes you can try. That being said, the rest of the menu is fantastic as well; nice wine list, his chicha morada is so delicious!Strongly recommend, if your in the Bay Area, visit Pucquio!

DO NOT ORDER VIA YELP/GRUBHUB Upon arriving, it turns out Pucquio is no longer working with Grubhub but Yelp is still "selling". Not Pucquio's fault at all. They handled it so beautifully, letting us sit and dine in, while making the order last minute. If you need takeout, call it in! Wow, the food is amazing! Years ago I backpacked through Peru for a while and this is the best Peruvian I've tried since returning to the states. The chicha, ceviche, ají de gallina...so, so good. Beautiful plating, wonderful service, and cozy heaters for the outdoor tables. I highly recommend coming here! It was truly a delightful meal

We wanted to grab dinner so we decided in Pucquio. Instantly greeted and sat. Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was awesome. Ordered Mosaico Cebichero (mixed fish, celery, ginger and Leche de Tigre) and Pulpo ala Parilla to start. Flavor was great and the portion was perfect for starters. Then we got Adobo de chanco (braised pork shoulder, crispy lechon, beans, crispy yams) & seafood with squid ink noodles! Also a side of yucca fries and plantains. These were incredible dishes and the sides were also delicious. Grabbed a bottle of wine and also rice pudding for dessert. ''Twas a dope night out and I'll surely be back!

Compared to the other reviews, I feel like we went to a different restaurant. I really wanted to like this place!Unfortunately we weren’t able to be seated until about 15 minutes after our reservation time, the food took a longggg time to come out (after 1.5 hours we asked to cancel our order and were told it was plated and coming out; it took another 10 minutes), the food was not terribly good (really fishy and salty), and then we were overcharged on our bill. I assume the staff was just having an off night, maybe it’s a post-Covid thing, but my wife and I were pretty disappointed.

The Covid restrictions have really hit the restaurants hard, but Pucquio gave us a wonderful introduction to the tastes of Peru. Four of us shared a Ceviche de Pescado and an order of Chicharron. Both were delicious, as evidenced by the clean plates when we were done. The Tacu-Tacu I ordered was a real treat, with lots of seafood. Others in our group really liked the Beef Stir Fry, Pulled Chicken Stew and Shrimp Bisque. Such an array of flavors. Yes, the service is slow. The man who took our order was also one of the cooks. But it was well worth the wait, and it gave us a chance to enjoy a leisurely dinner with good company and very tasty food.

Ate outside on a cold windy evening somewhat warmed by a portable gas heater and found the food absolutely delicious and well worth the Covid inconvenience. Short handed as are many restaurants with the pressure from the great re-opening after a year in the wilderness, the staff of two (chef and waitperson) did an outstanding job. Come early to avoid the rush.
