Really nice staff, nice environment, and excellent food! The fennel crusted seared ahi sandwich was fantastic, as were the mushroom soup and the arugula and apples salad. The mint and chocolate ice cream sandwich was a perfect end to our meal. We had to wait a while but the staff were checking on us regularly and very nice. I honestly forgot how good this spot is for dinner. Known more for their sandwiches for lunch. Next to their big brother Wood Tavern, this a more causal dining experience. Quality is just as good. We got the tuna salsa, a pasta dish and sea bass entree. Everything was exceptional. Service and wine were as great.

I've lived in the neighborhood for 5 years and ate at Southie for the 1st time on 2/27. It is incredibly good and a good value.
