“Best Banh Mi in Lamorinda & Walnut Creek area (and I’ve tried quite a few). The Orinda location is in the Square with the historic theatre, but only has a small interior and shares tables outside with other restaurants. The Walnut Creek location has no interior tables and the exterior tables are next to traffic, so Walnut Creek is really a to-go focused location.”
“One of the best taco spots I've had in a while and wish there was a location closer to me! Even the plain ol rice and beans had me and I'm not even a rice and beans kinda person. Also, I'm picky when it comes to horchata and they have one of the best! Staff is also so friendly!! 10/10 im definitely coming back any time im in the area!”
“Hanazen oferred some of the most delicious fish and housemade seasonings I have ever tasted. The service was incredible and the food was beyond memorable. Be sure to call and make a reservation for a meal you won't soon forget.”
“Ordered out. Tasty fried chicken, mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. Friendly staff who went out of their way to make sure we got our food order and it stayed crispy even thru transport.”
“Charming little spot with cheerful decor and welcoming staff. Probably best suited to small groups as it's quite cozy. Went for my birthday with family, including elderly-ish mom who enjoyed the food and was treated very kindly by the staff.”
“The food was great. I ordered the szechwan shrimp. It was so tasty and really filling. Portions were enough at good prices. Great atmosphere and nice hometown setting. The service was non-intrusive but they always knew when I would need something like a water refill. I will definitely come back when in the area.Parking: One hour limit parking in back of restaurant.”
“I walked into a nice restaurant decorated in with Thai art, classy cocktail music, and a smiling white with a ponytail. He asked me what I wanted for a drink, so I asked for my favorite drink, Thai ice coffee. The delicious iced coffee came very quickly in a canning jar with handles. My order of three lunch specials was cooked and served very quickly. For most people, ordering one lunch special is enough, but I wanted to try their food in a big way. Only then can you experience the chef's cuisine. Also, I'm babysitting a cat here in Orinda for nine days, so I haven't wanted to cook if i can order enough to eat delicious leftovers. What a pleasant surprise, the food, atmosphere, and the three dishes, were quite fresh and delicious. The Pad Thai, which I ordered with chicken, was very nice, I had delicately seasoned noodles, shredded carrots, shredded cabbage, green onions, fried tofu, fried eggs, bean sprouts, and finely chopped peanuts. For an extra $2, you can get the egg roll and salad, but I already had those with the two other lunch specials. The #6 Peanut Prawns, which were deep fried in a light batter, came with peanut curry sauce over a bed of spinach in a bowl, served with slices of orange, a crunchy Noodle salad, rice and a fried vegetarian Thai egg roll. Delicious! The prawns were a decent size, and quite tasty. My last dish was #12, Garlic Pepper Calamari, with onions, zucchini, mushrooms, green onions, fried noodles, were served with the sliced oranges, plus a noodles salad with carrots, cucumber, red cabbage, and shredded iceberg lettuce, deep fried noodles, were crunchy and fresh with a light dressing. Overall, the food was quite superb, my mom lived in Bangkok for fourteen years, so I know how to appreciate Thai food. I will definitely come here again if I'm visiting the area again.”
“I’m really happy to find this place. Quiet, inexpensive, good food and coffee, super friendly owner, and decent wifi. I work remotely and like to get out of the house. This will be definitely my regular spot to do my morning emails and have breakfast.”
“We are so lucky to have Saffron in Lamorinda. The food is delicious, flavorful, clean ingredients and authentic. Everything is made with so much love. This is the spot to get your dose of Indian food or catering for parties. Full of comminity!!!!! I went to a rad Diwali party at Saffron and left high on life.”
“When I arrived I was in a surly mood due to my girlfriend ushering me out of the house in my dirty work clothes, telling me I had a long day ahead of me. Suddenly we detoured to get some breakfast. I was a little unprepared. No shower, work clothes, etc…well I decided to forget my embarrassment, and I asked for a coffee milk shake. They knew what I was craving. It was the best shake I’ve had in my life and I kept thinking about it all day. I live in Pescadero, a good hour and a half away maybe two, but….I can’t forget how perfectly creamy, ice cold, and served with all of it there, not skipping….the long spoon,..you know what I mean. The rest of my breakfast was excellent except they don’t serve the bacon crispy so be sure to ask for it if that’s how to take it. Service was spot on. Thank you to the staff they made my day a lot better.”
“Owner Michael Karp and his awesome staff have created a tap room style bar & grill that really feels like a home away from home (think 'Cheers' - where everybody knows your name...). Staff and customers are friendly, drinks are stiff, beer list is 2nd to none in this area, and believe it or not, they've got a killer little wine list too. Doren Cab and Josie Rosé by the glass -- Get after it! The food is solid too. It's not super fancy but comfort food that hits the mark for simplicity and quality. If the weather is nice, they've got a killer patio with firepit and TVs showing the top games. If you find yourself in Orinda looking for a great restaurant and fun watering hole, look no further than Fourth Bore!”
“I used to work for Adrian and Araceli over a decade ago ! Miss them . Food is amazing, fresh ingredients, top of the line hideen gem for sure highly Recommended. I will be coming to Cali next week and can’t wait to get this ! Customers are also amazing dedicated family spot everyone ”
“I stopped by with a buddy and had lunch on a whim. The lunch specials and staff are excellent and under $20. I enjoyed it so much I ordered to go to take home for the Mrs.”
“Real crab! I can't have gluten or soy so sushi is not something I do too often but this place has real crab and doesn't blink when I bring my own Sanjay pea protein tamari. Atmosphere is fine. Service is fine.”
“My husband and I stopped in for sandwiches. Everything there is pre-made which they call Grab and Go. I had the Coronation Chicken and my husband had the Tarragon Chicken. They were delicious and the prices were reasonable. We also had a Southwestern Salad which was good but I thought it could use more corn and black beans. I understand that food costs are really high. They have a few tables to eat in. They also have Take and Bake dinners which I want to try. I think those have to be pre-ordered. We will be back even though it's a bit of a drive for us.”
