Oh my, we just happened upon House of Bagels intentionally and was not disappointed. The sandwiches were just perfect, the person behind the counter's service was absolutely genuine. We were the only people inside and the ambiance was just perfect for the 5 of us. Oh, and the desserts tantalized my tastebuds!
We love this place...consistently delicious bagels and cream cheese, and usually excellent service. It can be expensive, but it's Palo Alto...all food is expensive. And they charge you per item rather than one flat cost regardless of what you put in, so my daughter's favorite sandwich with just a few veggies is about half the price as at other places around. Terrific bagels.

What a great bagel shop! I have heard that there is more than one house of bagels location and I can only comment on this location. The service that I get has always been spot on. I've never had a issue with an order I placed there and I have been going to the Palo Alto location for 5 years. The staff are very kind and helpful, and the bagels are made fresh in the giant oven everyday. I recommend you check this out if you're in the area and seeking a tasty snack or meal.
