“Had an absolute blast at this sushi joint! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. While the sushi itself was top-notch, what truly set this place apart was the lively atmosphere. I ended up sitting at the sushi bar, and the chefs were not only masters of their craft but also great company.“

“A sushi place inside a swap shop ?? Must be horrible … right ? … right ?????You. Have. No. Idea. How. Good. It. Is!!!Honestly, I was just looking for some cheap sushi to munch on. You know, $8 rolls or something.NopeeeeeeeeThis was one of the best sushi places I’ve ever been to. First the service from Linda, she was great ! Super sweet and kind, great personality, and I never once saw her without a smile on her face. She definitely loves the craft and the business. Our chef was Omar. Man this guy is a magician ! The food was sooooooo good and soooo fresh. The rolls just melted in our mouths. I can’t wait to go back and I heard they’re opening other locations. But this is a GEMMMM !!!Prices don’t reflect a swap shop sushi place. It’s definitely like a real nice restaurant. But, the quality of food and the service matches a real sit down nice restaurant. The Sur sushi on fire roll … oh. My. Goooddddddddd ? Best roll thing I’ve ever had. It’s a sushi burrito ! Mannnnn it was the best thing I’ve ever tasted. So good. Getting that again !The panorama roll, seaweed salad were delicious too !My girl had the salmon sashimi, so fresh. Melted in our mouths. The rice cakeeee !!! Incredible ! Fried rice patty with spicy tuna and avocado. Bro …. Bro …. So good. This is my new go to sushi spot!My ONLY complaint is they didn’t have the prices listed. Ended up spending $80. Just unexpected is all. But for the quality of the food I’m not complaining at all. Would’ve just liked to know each rolls was $16Definitely going again!“

Cali's Teriyaki Japanese • $
8155 Van Nuys Blvd, Panorama City

“Really enjoyed this Teriyaki Bowl! This storefront is one of the food vendors located in the new LA Chef's Kitchens food hall in Panorama City. First off, I loved that this popped up as there's not too many good quick lunch options in Panorama City but now with the food hall there are plenty to choose from. Great option for take out lunch, Calis Teriyaki offers make-your-own Teriyaki bowls, almost like the Japanese version of Chipotle. You start with picking your rice and protein, then you can add different fillings like broccoli, mushrooms, onions, etc., different toppings like green onions and sesame seeds, and then you can pick up to 2 sauces for your bowl. It's fun if you go with a friend or partner because then you can mix and match the different sauces! We tried the regular teriyaki sauce, the bulgogi sauce, the sweet chili sauce, and sriracha. The whole experience was very fun and very delicious. I will definitely be coming back regularly for lunch. It's a food hall so not a huge amount of ambience but I feel it is more of a take out kind've stand. The food came out quick and fresh. The cashier was very friendly. I enjoyed all the bright flavors and sauces and the chicken itself had good flavor as well.“

“I did have a great experience but one of the doors was locked. Not sure if it was accidental, or because of the neighborhood done as a precaution from people. Just wandering in who should not be there. That aside, my order was done quickly accurately and tastily, and would go back if I am in that part of the neighborhood again.“

“We love this place. We have been to many many sushi places in LA, and this is on the top of our list. Most of the items we ordered were delicious. Oh did I mention their sushi rice was served warm? This is a huge plus because the warm rice gives you the contrast of temperature and the layer of taste makes the sushi taste much better.Only one thing I don’t recommend: the real crab hand roll had too much mayo sauce and you can barely taste the crab.Must get:Black cod (this is a rare find)HalibutBlack snapperEel mascal pone (melt in your mouth)Toro handrollKanpachiSalmonOctopusWe spent $200 for two. It is not cheap. But honestly you get what you pay for. You can’t compare the quality for when you spend $50/person on sushi.Anyways. We will for sure come back. :)“

“Fourth time here, and this time was lovely. Came in on a nice rainy day and started with hot sake and edamame. Then the spicy tuna cut roll with light rice was very fresh. Then we had the salmon crunch roll, which is very perfect with the fried onions! Then some shrimp tempura with vegetables and though everything was cooked to perfection the tempura batter needed to be crispier. It was a little soggy, but other than that everything was delicious. Mochi green tea ice cream dessert was very good. One of the best places for sushi and very reasonable prices which is always a plus. Fresh ingredients and good prices! You can't beat it. Uri was our server and she's always wonderful! Thank you! We will definitely be back.“

“Leona's was AMAZING. The food was such a fun experience and every dish felt like a surprise! Our waitress (if only I could remember her name) was so nice and helpful when it came to navigating the menu, the bartender even noticed she was busy and took our drink orders, and the food runners made it extra special by singing happy birthday to my husband hahahaha thank you everyone. 100/10 will come here for every date night.“

We came on a Saturday afternoon and even though there were tables open they asked us if we had a reservation & when we said no they made us wait which threw us off a little! That being said, it's a gorgeous location and the ramen is amazing. The broth is absolutely divine & love that they gave an abundance of toppings. I will be back!“
