Please understand, I love my Tacos and Enchiladas, however this menu, the food is very different. Over the top delicious. The portions a huge, be prepared to take part of your lunch or dinner home. The ingredients are good quality and recipes unique. Love this place.”

“We had the most fantastic server! Her name is Brandi! What a wonderful friendly person. She went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and like we were special VIP guests! What came as a great surprise is she knew sign language so my husband was delighted! The food was cooked to perfection! My grandma made the best mashed potatoes in the world, well as I much as I hate to say it the potatoe puree we had last night was better! Eric Fuller, the GM even came over and introduced himself and welcomed us! What a delightful and fun person he is! I want to thank the entire staff for their hard work in prepping cooking and serving us one fantastic meal! I can't wait to come back and have dinner with you again! JOB WELL DONE!”

“First off, the food was phenomenal. The entire staff was “Top Notch!” Our server, the busboy and food and beverage manager were the upmost professionals. They worked extremely hard to ensure my wife had a wonderful birthday dinner!! I can't thank you all enough! Great dinner/birthday night out for us.”

“This is a casual little winery that's not located on a vineyard, but the wine selection was good and there was a good amount of space to enjoy a little picnic basket with our wine tasting. Staff was nice too. I recommend the red flight.”

“I stopped in for the all you can eat catfish that was recommended by a local. I'm glad that I took his advice. I'm from Eastern NC so I know catfish. We eat it regularly. I can confidently say that this is the best catfish I've ever eaten. It isn't beer batters but instead they use a light cornmeal dusting that becomes perfectly crunchy, combine that with the moist clean white catfish inside and I can promise you that you will remember it for the rest of your life. I hope that I get this catfish in heaven because it's truly heavenly. Ms. Mary is the owner and cooks with love and you can taste it in every bite. It's everything you could ever want. I'm beyond full but I still feel the love in my belly. This is a must eat if you're in the area. Truly an incredible meal.”

“Ok, first time here. Have a vacation home in VC and have been looking for great pizza close to the house. Found it:) The pizza is so much better than anything in VC and most of Escondido. I 100% recommend Pahua's Bakery & Pizza. The dough to make the pizza may be the sweet bread dough that they use for the pastry's (per previous review) but who cares it is so good and pizza is a "treat" not something you eat on a regular. I suggest calling in so you don't have to wait. The bakery section looked really good but didn't try anything this time but there is always tomorrow!BTW, the young man who took my order and was at the counter when I picked up the pizza was super sweet. Thank you!”

“Super cute coffee truck located right off the main road en route to Bates Nut farm. A great variety of coffee and pastries to choose from. There's nothing better than a hot cup of fresh made coffee with a warm danish if you ask me. Ruthii is the best! She was patient while we browsed all the options and she made recommendations for us too! We even chatted together while she worked on our order which made the visit extra special. Thank you Ruthii for helping us have the best day!”

“Delicious! A little off the beaten path but easy to find when you have an idea where it is (pass the VC Rite Aid and it's on your right side can't miss it- white food truck with canopy.) Got the Cali burrito, it's big. The steak is great tasting, but very tough/chewy(thus the 4 stars). Red and green Salsa is outstanding and the roasted green firey chili on side along with fresh tortilla chips makes it a complete great meal. Besides the steak being tough and hard to chew flavor of it is fresh and delicious! Potatoes are more like breakfast Potatoes in their Cali burrito but it's a WIN! theyre so good! Have been back twice since our first visit. Highly recommend this place for mexican if you're in the area.Vegetarian options: they have an ultimate vegetarian burrito that looks great!”

“Family-owned and run business selling on the side of the road, as soon as you enter VC. They also sell marigold flowers for Día de los Muertos! Beautiful flowers with a strong smell even the bees love.”

“Portinos is our best local pizza in my opinion. I would consider it a high-end pizza not a cheap $5 carry out. The bambina pizza is a great deal at 6 bucks. And for some reason my orders always get messed up, but in 4 years portinos has never messed up one of my orders. That says a lot.”

“I'm very biased when giving my opinion on Agrusa's but that's because it's my favorite sandwich spot in the Escondido area. It's nice to have something different other at the casino that isn't SmashBurger or fine dining. I could eat their food everyday for the rest of my life and having one less than a mile from home drives home my point even more. The service is great and quality control is strict. They have beer too! I've only ever had their #22 but that's because it's the best they one they have. If you're not too busy crushing sandwiches then try their potato salad or spaghetti.”

“BEST kept secret of this casino!!! Been here multiple times and so disappointed not many people know of this brewery. Its across from the hotel unfortunately they are unable to advertise in the casino. They have karaoke Thursday and Sunday . Different events like UFC as well as food trucks on fri and sat. Looks like they have live bands sometimes . We enjoyed the karaoke host was awesome seems like lots of locals with some great voices. Beer prices for a pint $8 they also have 4 packs to go for $20 and swag for sale. Ambiance is casual and low key. They sell snacks like chips n nuts. Three large size tvs for sports and one HUGE one playing sports. Nice open patio with some games like corn hole. Definitely a place to hang have a few great tasting beers and some fun!”

The blonde woman working Sunday morning went above and beyond suggesting options for me and even gave me the complete lowdown on all the milks that starbucks/cafe amore carries and what their sugar content is. “Located inside Pala Casino. Indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. Tons of TVs. Casual and loud sports bar atmosphere. Full service, sitdown restaurant. Fast and friendly service. They do not take reservations - walk ins only. There was a lot of availability during prime time on a night where the hotel was sold out, though, so you shouldn't have to worry. Three men split the wings, skins, and loaded fries. Each had a beer. Plenty of food and tasted great! Cost around $80 tax and tip included as of March 2024. If you're in the upper tier of their players privileges program, you can get a discount.”
