We've got Placerville's top Mexican restaurants covered for you.
“We did not know their hours and arrived at closing. We were welcomed in, served promptly with hot food and a very polite staff. The food was fresh and very good. We had been snowed in for almost 2 weeks so a hot meal sure hit the spot. Highly recommend for good food and friendly place to eat.“
“Home cooking like my Grandma made..... the place is small but has.a true Hispanic charm ....right down to the salsa and chips. Portions are way large... and prices a great value.... Less than a thin in and out burger..... So glad they survived Covid closeting ..... We have had most things on the menu. I love Carne asada burritos.....my husband goes for chicken tacos and beef taco... please stop by.....small hole in the wall places like this are true gems... If you don't support them they will be gone !,,,, Fast also for take away . Cheers“
“The ladies working here were super nice and made the experience very pleasant. Empanada was HUGE. I didn't like the flavor of it much but I could see someone who likes quesadillas loving this style empanada. Their chicken tacos were really good and their chips had flour chips mixed into the corn batch, loved that. Their medium salsa was good too.“
“Casual, family-owned chain that offers Mexican favorites. Although, we did not dine in, we did have a takeout order that was ready for pickup at the scheduled time. Portion sizes were great and the food was tasty. Tried their carnitas burger, Fajita quesadilla, and abuelas taquitos. If I'm in the area again, I'll dine in for the full customer experience.“
“As someone with severe allergies (onions and garlic) its hard to find somewhere that understands when I bring it up. Tonight my husband and I went in and I asked the cashier what if anything I could possibly eat with my allergies (I fully understand that sometimes I cant eat at all the restaurants, but my husband can) and she went into ask the chef immediately. She was able to tell me what I was able to order and even went back multiple times to check that NOTHING in my food had any allergens. I got home and immediately tried the food and OMG it is so good!! I got a chimichanga with grilled chicken, lettuce and cheese only and it was made perfect; hubby got the wet burrito. I can't tell you enough how great the food was, but more so that the staff cared enough to make sure I had a good experience. Will definitely be going back soon!“
“I'm originally from Los Angeles, with Mexican parents (from Jalisco) and this is the best Mexican food we've had in the region. Always super friendly and great service. They have boom menudo on the weekends.Mi marido es bien delicado pero le encanta la comida de El Carnaval.“
“This is our favorite El Forestero in placerville. Place is always very tidy and salsa bar stocked up. Plenty of parking. Super friendly service. Drive-thru is fast and efficient. I love the decor. I'll never get sick of the Cornelius tacos that's the best.“
“A beautiful restaurant in downtown Placerville, California. Great atmosphere, excellent service and, for the most part, really good food. The one-star deduction is because I think that a great Mexican restaurant should have great salsa. Cascada's salsa is really bland with zero spice. Tip: if you ask, they will provide some habanero sauce that you can add to the salsa. Careful ... it's really hot, but it does improve the salsa.“
“Update- Came by for some carnitas street mini tacos for $2.15 each and some watermelon water agua de frescas! Excellente'! Muchos gracias!Came here for the first time year. We're in love with this place and can't hardly wait to try more things on the menu. Excellent chile Colorado. Beautiful burritos! Refried beans and rice are excellent. Friendly window service. Nice location. Clean, courteous, respectful and excellent service. What a gem for our county. 5 stars for sure!“
“Got here for a quick meal on the way to Tahoe. It didn't disappoint. I got their mango shrimp salad and it was amazing! Juicy grilled shrimps, delicious cilantro ranch dressing, fresh veggies, black beans - all got married into a great salad! Thanks!“
“Love their tacos. The fish is not fried but still really tasty. Their al pastor is delicious (but saucey) and I like their chorizo too. Friend always gets the burritos because they are HUGE. BD gets their pupusas which comes with a fantastic slaw. I to the market for the seasoning on their chicken and to pick up simple items I'll need if I'm making food at home. Service has always been friendly. Please bring back the tables so we can eat there. I know it's tight sometimes but I miss the salsa and eating inside if it's rainy outside.“
