We like brunch here. Large patio and a lot to see : train , people coming in and out of the depot and plenty of umbrellas to stay awhile and sip tea or coffee or get some work done on a laptop or finish a weekend read. We love the fluffy large omelettes here. Fresh ingredients like bell peppers and mushrooms are generously added. You can request to replace potatoes with a salad if you are on a low carb or glycemic load diet. We are fans of the patio here

Friend and I wanted something different not sure if we wanted breakfast or a sandwich found this based on reviews extremely happy... Sunday arrived around 1230 never been there before you have to grab the menu & order at the front they'll give you a number.. sit at a table and they'll deliver it to you.. I ordered a turkey burger.... fries & salad came with it and my friend ordered a tuna melt, fries & salad came with hers... 1. Her tuna melt was freaking huge (thick of tuna salad between choice of bread) !!.. and I'm glad she was happy since I was in trusted to pick the restaurant! She said it tasted great 2. I had a turkey burger which is a basic turkey burger (unfortunately I'm watching my calorie count)... lettuce onion tomato mayo mustard... I did enjoy the fries and they gave you enough to be happy with. The salad was Just ok.... good dressing but wish it had other items such as cucumber and tomato... it was basically just A variety of different lettuces... and dressing and that was it. It took about 20 minutes for us to get our meal but we didn't care again it's Sunday and we were just relaxing... reminder it's not a high top restaurant that has 30 people in the back .... these are just a few people making your meals so take the time to enjoy your surroundings and don't expect your food in front of you ASAP.. If you do don't go there We're not picky eaters we just want a lot of food for value and I think this place fits the bill . we ordered water with our meal came about 30+ dollars for two We found a table outside.. little windy today but we love sitting outside wherever we go and did experience the train(s).. Sunday !!.. That was fine for us obviously you can't have a conversation because the train is right next to the restaurant which we found humorous... & there is some Trains smell when it goes by... i'm not a parent and I travel the world.. guess what.... trains smells.... But there are a lot of parents on the outside of the restaurant who had their kids watching the trains go by so y'all make your own decision on that. If you're picky about the train noise or the train gas smell as it goes by or possibly dust if it goes by then don't go here....... but if you like a quaint little outdoor place that is actually funny and enjoy the train go by and a good meal surprisingly enough walk away feeling full... do it! Totally recommend this place and I'll go back again!! Just a note I saw these two people eating the pasta and I went OMG that is huge and looks creamy and delicious but I just couldn't order it for a lunch menu since I had a lot going on afterwards...I wound need a nap!! They are open for dinners I may have to try it..

This used to be a great small caffe to come in and sit down to eat, but now I get the sense that management is racial profiling their "Scary" customers coming in to sit down and eat. Really!?? Really!?? Taking my business elsewhere until they start welcoming all people of different shapes and sizes. SMH!

We have enjoyed coming here these past 3 years but recently the service has gone down. From one day to the next all the service staff quit. Now there are a bunch of young kids who are just not that hospitable. To the owner: should have paid your staff more so they would stay instead of hiring a bunch of kids that don't know what they are doing just to save money!

We have been there for breakfast and the food is really yummy especially for the price and the friendly people. The service is great that is the main reason I gave it five stars. It's also fun if you like trains because there is a train that goes by all morning long.

Absolutely quality hand crafted meals. Loved every bite of my order! I ordered the Mediterranean Ribeye and Soup of the Day, which was on a Friday, Clam Chowder. Wow! Absolutely loved my meal from this cafe. (I'm writing this on Mothers Day) Little background nostalgia on Friday nights for Tiff. Growing up, my Mom made sure our fam sat down to a home cooked meal every evening, Friday nights were steak night. Dad would grill and Mom would make some fabulous sides like taters mashed or baked with all the trimmings and of course, veggies. Back then, food was a luxury for us, as we were low to middle class in financial standing. I miss those Friday nights. I was just talking to my Mom the other day about our Friday night steak nights and she said, "I can't believe you remember!" Anyway, this Friday eve I had a craving for those Friday night dinners and found this cafe serving up a ribeye entree. Fantastic, generously portioned ribeye, marinated to perfection and served up medium, as requested, and every bite was delicious. Juicy and flavorful, good quality steak, nicely grilled, accompanied with fresh zucchini and squash slices, sautéed lightly, with few roasted tater slices. I also ordered the Soup of the Day, Clam Chowder. I just said the other day how much I loved another restaurant's clam chowder version but that has now been replaced with Franklin Street's version. I love their clam chowder! Super creamy, nice clam chunks and not loaded down with tater chunks. I found some French cuisine undertones to their chowder and I'm loving it! Chowder comes with 2 slices of crusty, toasty buttered baguette slices for dipping, soaking up that creamy goodness. Franklin Street has a new fan! ME! Guess what? (rolling my eyes) I forgot to take pics. I will order this in the next week or two and I'll post some pics then. I hope my description provides an image for you to replace the lack of photos. DEFINITELY try this lovely cafe that has extensive breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. Exceptional quality! Aside from the ribeye, I really want to try their Chicken Piccata for one of my next orders. Cheers!

Big portion of yummy food, also the owner is super friendly, I forgot about my sun glasses and he ran outside of the Caffe to remind me.

The coffee wasn't that great, atleast the one I got (cold coffee with hazelnut and with almond milk). When I drank this coffee, I felt like as if I am drinking a regular coffee. I didn't felt the hazelnut flavor in it. Also the sweetness is random choice and individual choice to add into it. They should have added minimum sugar and a proper hazelnut shot to blend into the coffee flavor.

SERVICE: very fast and overall happy with the service. you have to order at the counter, but the food comes out pretty quickly after that. FOOD: i tried the shrimp & avocado omelette and it was filled with cheese and shrimp. kinda skimpy on the avocado though. expect to pay around $16 per dish. on the pricier side, but big portions.

I had just finished an appointment and was looking for a place to grab a sit-down healthy breakfast. Glad I chose Franklin Street Caffe. I ordered a veggie omelet with no cheese and it came in less than 15 minutes from when I ordered it. Would definitely go back! Next time I'll try their coffee, too (the machine was on the fritz the day I was there).

Stopped here for breakfast on a Saturday morning and this place did not disappoint. I had the combo breakfast plate that was cooked up quick and delicious. The shortstack of pancakes were nice and fluffy. Located near the train stop so it's easy to get to. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The menu contains so many good sounding options that I will have to return to try. Definitely a great breakfast spot if your in the neighborhood.
