Worst Italian meal I have ever eaten. I ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana which managed to be both mushy and grainy covered in a Maranara sauce that was almost entirely without flavor. The waiter offered to bring me a takeout box for my salad before the meal when I had eaten maybe a third of it. Seven or eight older guys standing around in the kitchen talking. Great location. Could be amazing. Why?

A local place that has been in business for 45 plus years. High quality ingredients, fresh mozzarella and fennel scented sausage. Really excellent pizza, and has a full Italian menu.

The tables and decor were the same I remembered for years. We have been going to Villa Lucia's since 1990ish when we lived down the block and have loved and shared this place with family and friends. When my parents moved from Redwood City in 2019 we had a last great pizza.I was in RWC last night and went back and have to say I was really disappointed. The crust and sauce are different. I saw into the kitchen that they had a stack of pre-made crust which was my first red flag and opening the box on the way to car was my second. My favorite #2 was buried in raw onions and green bell peppers and after picking those off later the pizza was meh.. no plans to revisit again.

The ministroni soup was like tomato Pace. It was so thick not even any ministroni in the soup. The pizza was not cooked . This restaurant was very good once, now it's like?.Found out it's under new management. Never going back there again. Save your money fine a different restaurant.

Our family has been enjoying food from Lucia’s since they first opened. We moved from Redwood City 13 years ago and still come here even though we live in Half Moon Bay. The pizza is our favorite and it never disappoints. Fresh ingredients, great sauce and pesto, and consistently good. Highly recommend.

My friends were very excited to take us here. They had said the food was amazing and the staff were super friendly. The food was good. I wouldn’t call it the best Italian but I would eat it again. I order the baked ziti but felt it was something I could totally make at home. My biggest issue was how rude our waitress was. She barely came to the table, barely helped us, took our order and we had to ask for a drink refill (which only happened once because we asked). Even then we saw it was busy and didn’t complain. However, we sat forever waiting for our check and we finally flagged down a kid cleaning the tables. He got the waitress, who came over obviously annoyed. She then became visibly angry when we asked to split our check for a table for 4. We just wanted it split in two. My friend kept trying to explain we needed the check split and she had also been trying to order one more entree to go (but the waitress was never at the table through out the dinner to do this). The waitress kept interrupting her asking again what she wanted. I finally said something when she tossed her hands up in the air and rolled her eyes at my friend (who had been saying all night the waitress had worked there forever and was awesome). At that point I asked if she had a problem with us because she seemed visibly angry. She proceeded to tell me, “well your making my night difficult splitting the check and you should have thought to tell me sooner.” We never saw her and never had a chance to tell her sooner because when she took our order she ran off before we even got to finish everything else we wanted to order. I told her I was not happy with her response and this should be an easy request and that now I was feeling very frustrated with her and her rude response. She angrily walked off and said, “It’s fine I’ll be back.” She came back 4 times to ask if she split the four dishes correctly on the check, each time irritated with us. When she handed us our final check she said they had a new owner and a new POS system and she was having troubles splitting the check. If she had just said that to begin with I would have totally understood, but I didn’t not appreciate being snapped at. Normally I would say something to the manager but at this point I was beyond angry and the other staff kept staring at our table. We just paid and I walked out as a girl at the kitchen continued to glare at me. I don’t know what the waitresses problem was that night and my friend still swears she has never had any issues with this place and this used to be her absolute favorite. I personally will not go back. I wouldn’t rate them a 1 star because that isn’t fair, the pizza that passed our table looked great and the food wasn’t bad, but I definitely would not give this place even a 4 star.

A quaint pizzeria locally owned that serves a variety of pasta too. Their pizza is excellent, especially their Stromboli!

I had the best Italian food in the Bay Area tonight! It was so fresh and tasty that I wanted to lick the plate up. Ubaldo provided an excellent service and made our experience more enjoyable. Also, entrees comes with soup and pasta so the portions are huuuuge but not heavy. Plus free bread!Congratulations to the chef!
