Consistently inconsistent, always seems to miss badly on one element and not want to correct it. Shrimp tempura was raw, still grey not pink- someone could get very ill and they wanted to argue about it. Never going back.

This is a safe option for Sushi - the food is good and the staff are friendly and efficient. Its location makes it a great choice for a family dinner or date night since you can go for a walk around town afterwards or stop at a nearby bar like Nighthawk for an after-dinner drink.Kid-friendliness: We’ve dined here with kids and it was great.Wheelchair accessibility: While some of the outside tables aren’t the best for someone in a wheelchair (sloped) the interior is accommodating.

Very kid friendly because the medium noise level in the restaurant makes it hard to hear the kids ?. There's not a ton of high chairs though so don't count on getting one if you're going during peak hours. It turns out to be a little pricey for what you get and the staff is sometimes a little snippy, but we've always been able to get a seat and the food is decent, especially the specialty sushi rolls. They don't offer tobiko on specialty rolls anymore ? which makes me a little sad.

Great spot to have lunch. Recommend the chirashi bowl over the sushi combo (too much California roll in the sushi combo for my tastes). Both of these come with miso soup and a basic salad. Generally good cuts of fish and the price is reasonable.

My daughter and I were in Redwood City visiting a relative at Kaiser. We were hungry for lunch. Where to for lunch, Yokohama or May's Vietnamese Cuisine? Both restaurants are on Broadway. As a matter fact, there are several restaurants on Broadway, which means plenty of choices. We decided on Yokohama. I haven't had Japanese food in a good while. First time here, so I did not know what to expect. Perusing the menu, it didn't take me long to decide what I wanted - Vegetables, Options A (vegetables tempura, agedashi tofu [3 pcs], wakame). This item was a bento box lunch, which included miso soup, gyoza, salad with miso dressing and rice. The other item I ordered was an eight piece of California Special sushi roll (real crab and avocado). Beverage was an Arnold Palmer, which was a change from a hot cup of green tea.My daughter had goo goo ga ga and miso soup. I chuckled at the name of her dish because it sounded like "baby talk". It wasn't baby size sushi roll. They certainly looked delicious.Needless to say, I ordered too much food. My eyes got bigger than my stomach. I could not finish my lunch. Leftover veggie tempura! I enjoyed my lunch.Service was wonderful and the ambiance quite nice. The lunch crowd came in just before we left. That told me the food must be very good.
Food is fine but portions are absurdly small for the price. To make things worse, they charge for condiments like spicy Mayo and didn’t include ours on the order. Lunch boxes are not bad but again, small for what it is - rolls are on the smaller side. Would not return.

Just tried this place yesterday with my spouse! We really liked the chicken karaage and the sauce that came with it. I got the chicken udon which was so good and my spouse got the chicken teriyaki/beef teriyaki combo which came with a ton! Definitely recommend.

Hi Yokohama chefs. Can you please review each roll before creating? I bought 1 $18 roll which is pricey. It had avocado included. You did not put avocado in it. Obviously the pricing is correlated to each and every ingredient. If you leave out avocado, you could at least take $ off. The roll was good but I feel cheated on price. Giving 1 star for food (ommitted my avo when roll naturally came with it; everyone in CA knows avo prices up an item) and service (bc of pricing being cheated).

The staff is friendly. The toro hand rolls are devine. The spicy hamachi sashimi uses real jalapeños, not hot sauce-yum! Fresh fish. Will go again.
