Uncover Ripon's Mexican dining scene with Restaurantji's insights.
“Country Kitchen (just like my Nanas house on the ranch). This small place, in Ripon, is a neighborhood classic. Staff is always friendly and food is always fresh and hot (nice! Very, very nice). Today (as always) my fiancé and I had the Chile Verde Omelette with a side of eggs (for me). Come out. Fell like you just came over for breakfast or brunch and enjoy a quaint conversation with a good hearty meal. Tell them ,"that guy" sent you.“
“Perhaps the best, most authentic, high-end Mexican in the area. What separates this place from the MANY others are the flavors. Even the grilled veggies are made with intention. Did not have a go at the cocktails yet but I hear they are even better than the food!“
“A very special shout out to 2 very kind and hospitable servers here who always take the time to talk to this weary traveler. Vianka and Larissey. I hope I spelled your names right. No matter which one of you is working I can count on kind service and a wonderful conversation about our days. Thanks to you both and also the entire staff that make this place run on a daily basis. This place is always it's consistent when it comes to their food. As you can see, I tend to order the same thing every time. And it is just as good as the first time i've been there. Closest thing to a home cook meal That I can find near a truck stop on the 99. Always look forward to my reset when I'm in Ripon because I can come in and enjoy a nice meal and a drink. Again thank you to the staff and I will see you soon“
“Delicious Authentic Mexican Food ?. Taste Like Good Home Cooking From Grandma's Kitchen ?. They are very generous with their portions as well and make everything so fresh! It's definitely a must try! Kid-friendliness: They have TV'S playing one with a child show and one with something for adults.“
“I admittedly had only ever been there maybe two times to pick up food to-go. But, Taco Tuesday cannot be beat here for the price. A plate of tacos and adult beverages for two is very reasonable. The service is good and prompt. The place isn't the most scenic or gorgeous, but it's clean and functional.“
“Really happy we finished our business early, as the Roadhouse had not yet opened. They were just putting out the open sign at 11, so we went in. Fast friendly service and great food! Watch out for the salsa, it has a little bite. LOL Guacamole is outstanding as well. You also get a bowl of re-fried beans with your chips! Will be back next month for sure!“
“If I could, I'd rate food and service more than 5 stars. From the chips and salsa to the entrees and soup, everything was so tasty. The salsa was so fresh... we joked that we could drink it from a straw if it wasn't frowned upon. We got the chorizo and egg plate with flour tortillas and the carne asada plate with corn tortillas. While I enjoyed the flour over the corn tortillas, everything was delicious and flavorful! The rice wasn't dry and the refried beans had a nice texture. We took home an asada burrito and the albondigas. The burrito was delicious even after a few hours of being in the fridge. That tortilla, man... love it. The albondigas was comforting. The meatballs and broth were perfect. If I had any criticism on the albondigas, it was I wish they gave us more meatballs.I wish I got the gentleman's name of who greeted us and helped us. He was super friendly. Lovely man to chat with. Gave us enough privacy but also was helpful, interested, attentive, and grateful for us stopping by.The restaurant is small and probably easy to miss. It's attached to a liquor store and has bars on the window. It's a hole in the wall environment, but totally worth to go in. The seating area was clean and comfortable and they had two TVs on playing Mexican music and a Mexican variety show. The kitchen is in the middle of the room with a wall partition separating it from the eating area. Whatever they do to ventilate the food smells/smoke, it's pretty impressive. Also, paying with cash will save you some money, but paying with a card won't break the bank. This place is a gem. Please visit these nice people. It almost felt like going to my friend's mom's house.“
