Most dishes were outstanding! And the personalized touch for our anniversary was lovely The quail appetizer was more breading than quail. My scallops were a tad too rare despite best efforts on the second attempt. We enjoy the creativity of the chef and appreciate the staff's commitment to fine dining which is lacking in most other Sacramento restaurants.

A truly wonderful dining experience. The food was fresh, innovative without being overly sauced or fussy, and well presented. Kudos in particular to the octopus with gnocchi and the scallops. The service matched the food. We were greeted warmly and ordered drinks followed by a very well informed description of the menu. After that everything sounded delicious. We also ordered the wine pairing and these came in the proper fashion, not just four glasses of wine but an explanation of what the wine was its character and why it was selected to be paired with that dish. Clearly a lot of thought went into this. The entire staff was attentive without being intrusive. Add to that the pleasant surroundings and it was a most enjoyable evening. We will definitely return.

Outstanding food and service. For such an outstanding restaurant, I thought the surroundings, the ambience, was sort of plain - is that the right word ? Might have expected at least a linen tablecloth ? From observing the garden room I think when warmer would be the place to be in that regard. This is more of an observation than a criticism; we had a wonderful time and I have already been recommending Allora to several friends. Another small suggestion would be to have available a glass of Brunello de Montalcino in the glass of wine segment

Came in for a drink (sadly we ate dinner already) and it was SO good we had more than one. Seneca is truly an artist! He was kind enough to make us a drink that was taken off the menu. He was busy making drinks for the whole restaurant but was still attentive and kind to my husband and I. Thank you Seneca! We will be back for dinner and drinks of course ;)

What a lovely experience! My husband got gifted a "hospitality experience" and after a lot of research we decided to go to Allora. I am so glad we did, because every course was better than the last. You get to chose each of your 4 courses, but they also bring out a small bite before, shortly after you sit down as well as in the middle and at the end. So really you are getting 7 different courses. The server was very knowledgeable about each of the dishes and ensured that my shellfish allergy was a non-issue. The drinks were absolutely phenomenal. Every detail down to the branded ice cube was perfect. Nothing was missed. This truly was a hospitality experience and we will be back! We sat on the patio, and it did not even feel like we were outside. There were heaters and it was covered. There was a lot more space vs inside. Both great vibes but outside was more intimate and quiet. I highly recommend!!!Dietary restrictions: The server was very knowledgeable about each of the dishes and ensured that my shellfish allergy was a non-issue. Everyone was aware and I never had to mention it after making the reservation.

The food at Allora is special, the dishes are so creative, unique and delicious, that the dining experience is in another stratosphere! Adding to the pleasure of the meal is the attentive service and spectacular wine selections. The menu is in courses and the portions are perfectly sized to choose four dishes and a dessert. While it's difficult to name a favorite, I can't get past the Polpo and Lobster fettuccine. My husband also had the short rib, which melts in your mouth, and I love the black cod. Extraordinary meal!

My family and I came here for my brother’s birthday. We were a little hesitant at first because of the price per person, but we had all heard excellent reviews about Allora and decided to try it. I am so glad that we did. When we made our reservation, we received a phone call from the restaurant confirming our reservation, checking for any food allergies, and clarifying if we were dining for a special occasion. They also offered us seating at either their interior dining room or their garden. We opted for the garden because the weather has been so nice and the photos online looked beautiful (and it was just as beautiful in person)! The waiter wonderfully explained how each course would be served, along with very thorough descriptions of all of the dishes on the menu. He ended by saying that he was unable to recommend any dishes simply because everything was delicious. And he was right. The oysters they served were the best oysters we had ever had (which was especially surprising since Sacramento is not known for their oysters). The quail was cooked perfectly. All of the pasta dishes were incredible (no one could decide on a favorite). All of the entrees were cooked and seasoned perfectly. And the deserts were a perfect way to end an excellent dinner. The service was also incredible. Everyone’s course came out at the same time and was heated appropriately (i.e. no one’s food had been sitting under a heat lamp for extensive periods of time). The server did an excellent job checking in on us but not bombarding or interrupting our conversations. We didn’t order any wine or cocktails, but they have a sommelier on staff that will pair your meal with the perfect wine. All of the staff were super personable and were able to answer all of our questions.By the end of the meal, everyone was comfortably full and elated. My partner and I have already started bragging to our friends about this place and are already looking for any excuse to return. One thing to be aware of is parking for this establishment is on the street (I think they may have a few handicap spots in their small parking lot). This did not particularly bother us, as it was nice to get a small walk in after our fantastic meal.

What a fantastic experience. We were greeted at the door by the sommelier and the host. We were taken to our table by the host and then almost immediately we had a server taking care of us. The service was amazing, well orchestrated to make sure the dinners were taken care at all time. The cocktails were elevated, some of the best I have had in Sac. We had the four course meal. All plates were amazing. All of them were flavorful, complex, plentiful, and visually appealing. We did the wine pairing, which was spot on. This was certainly an experience for all the senses. Dessert was amazing and the doughnuts were super soft and well balanced. The decor of the place is elegant. The patio area is super nice. I was scared about temperature but they have taken care of that so nice that it did not distract from the whole experience. Prices are high, but I think well justified given the experience. Also, we were there for a birthday celebration and they made the experience unique. Overall, a great restaurant with amazing food and excellent service.Parking: Parked on the street. May be difficult, did not see a parking lot dedicated to the restaurant.

My husband and I went for my birthday last year. I wrote a negative review and it seemed to have been removed.Despite the wonderful service and pleasant atmosphere, the food was an utter let down. The menu offered at Allora is quite pricey and for such a price tag we were expecting a high standard for the food. It left much to be desired. The flavors did not wow, which made the small portions more abysmal. We left hungry. On top of that, we felt nickeled and dimed. There was unexpected surcharges that were not included in the menu price (expected to pay $300+tip for 2 person menu and 2 drinks based on visible prices, actually paid $500+tip). For a place that already charges over $100 per person, this was upsetting. We also had considered rescheduling to a different day prior to our reservation and learned that had we wanted to cancel instead of reschedule, they would have charged us $200!Instead of providing customers the best in high end dining, Allora seems like it strives only to run away with your wallet. In a place like Sacramento, you can find many other excellent high end dining experiences that offer much more exquisite flavors for a fraction of the price.

Wow, what a top notch place. We came here for an anniversary and they really made us feel special with the custom menus with our names on them! The have a delightful tasting menu that allows you to really explore the chef's vision. I think this changes often so it's not worth deep diving on the courses we had (Summer menu).Cocktails are unique and flavorful. We also enjoyed welcome champagne.Ambiance is top notch, comfortable and intimate seating. Good for groups or dates.Staff was professional and attentive. Everything you'd expect at a fine dining spot. You pay for what you get, and what you get is a wonderful, delicious experience.

Great dining experience. All the dishes we had were absolutely delicious and flavorful. Would definitely come again to try other items on the menu. I'm a fan of octopus so I had to order the Polpo with gnocchi. Best octopus I've ever had!
