“Stoped here with friends for dinner. None of us have ever been here so we went in with open minds and ready to be fed some good food!! So many choices to dine. Inside the restaurant, outside tables or cute yurts that seem to seat about 4 comfortably. Inside is beautiful and rustic. Very comfortable not pretentious. We were given menus but really didn't understand the process until our food server explained that side dishes are served family style in Le Cruset casserole dishes, you just need to pick a couple of proteins to go with them. Our choices: a full loaf of sourdough, fresh picked veggies and their own dip, braised leeks that are meant to be served cold, a whole deboned chicken and a filet of sturgeon. Everything was beyond incredible!! So much flavor!! Everything was extremely fresh. We kept making yum noises and saying OMG after tasting each dish. We couldn't have been happier. All our dishes seemed to compliment each other so well. Our food server was SO KNOWLEDGEABLE...she knew just the right wine to suggest with it and we took her suggestion. She really went ABOVE and BEYOND her job. No I can see whay she was training someone...she really knows the fine art of turning someone's dinner into an experience!! I wish I would have taken pictures but we were too busy eating. 5 stars Charter Oak! You exceeded in all aspects!”

“My family and I have eaten at Farmstead many, many times, and the service, food, drinks and ambience is always great and a wonderful experience. The food and wine selections perfectly complement the flavors for an elevated dining experience. The portions are generous, especially the Heritage St. Louis Ribs and the California Arborio Rice - definitely shareable plates. The desserts are always on point. My favorite is the Scharffen Berger Chocolate Cream Pie - house made with a thick graham cracker crust and whipped cream. If you are looking for a true farm to table experience, showcasing fresh and flavorful ingredients from their garden, ranch and vineyards, Farmstead delivers. Price: $$$ Food: ***** Service: ***** Cuisine: American Farmhouse I highly recommend Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch!”

HALL Wines St. Helena 401 St Helena Hwy South, St Helena Wineries • $$
401 St Helena Hwy South, St Helena

“We initially did not intend to do any tasting here. We originally intended to go to another winery and then we decided to squeeze Hall in since it was included in our hotel stay. We knew nothing about Hall going in. We were pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the tasting room was as well as how much we enjoyed the wine. I'm trying to enjoy more red wine as opposed to white and this place gave me a huge push in that direction. The wine was great. Lastly, I will say how great Joego was. He was entertaining as well as giving us a lot of great information on their wine. In the end, we didn't end up going to that other winery at all but we were completely happy with that. Hall was the perfect winery to end our stay in Napa Valley”

Pride Mountain Vineyards 4026 Spring Mountain Rd, St Helena Wineries • $$$

“There’s a reason Pride has almost a perfect 5 star review. Excellent wine and a gorgeous winery with cave tour. The views of the vineyards are spectacular.Let’s start with the 15 min drive up the hill, which gains about 2000 ft in elevation. Lots of turns so those who struggle with car sickness should take note. You’ll pass gorgeous vineyards as you meander through a thick canopy of forest. The tasting room and facilities are beautiful. Lots of photo opportunities throughout the grounds. Nicole was our guide and she was a joy.The tour of the cave was my favorite. You can smell the oak and wine as they are aging hundreds of barrels. There were at least 3 tastings inside the cave and we also got to experience blending some cab with our merlot. They happened to be pouring a 2005 Merlot and allowing a purchase allocation of one bottle. We did not hesitate and promptly purchased one.Don’t miss this experience. You will not be disappointed.”

axr napa valley 3199 St Helena Hwy N, St Helena Wineries • $$
3199 St Helena Hwy N, St Helena

“This was the absolute pinnacle of our trip to Napa Valley. I'm glad we went here last, because if we had started here... everything else would have been a disappointment. If you visit one winery on your trip, make AXR the one.First, our wine host Melissa was a complete joy to spend 2 hours with. By the end of our tasting, she was like family. Her knowledge of wine is amazing and we learned a lot. She also gave us a quick tour of the property on foot despite the rain. We may have even tasted a wine or two not on the list.Second, the wines are quite honestly the best I've had top to bottom. The grenache was a pleasant surprise. Their 2021 line-up tastes like something that's been aging for 6 years vs 3. There is no doubt these wines will age spectacularly and if you are a collector, they source from single vineyards that are limited and hard to get your hands on.Third, winemaker Jean Hoefliger, is in very high demand in the valley and working with some great wineries. His creativity and Bordeaux background are nothing like I've experienced. I can't say enough about the structure, depth and fruit that he ties together... it's simply "joy" in a bottle.Needless to say, we joined the club and are looking forward to our next visit.”

“Incredible property with an awesome tour and tasting! Our guide was awesome (sorry, forgot her name!), she was very knowledgeable about the history of the property and the wines. Wines were lovely, this place has a lot older vintages than most you'll find in napa, we tasted many from the 2000s-2010s, and one all the way back to 1992! Tastings took place in a historic mansion which is apparently also the set of a famous tv show from the 80s. Highly recommended, love all the wineries I've been to on the mountain, this one is certainly a highlight.”

“I was excited to visit Inglenook. I didn't have my dog with me and Inglenook is not dog friendly so it was the first time in a long time that I was even able to visit here. I made a reservation and received a QR code to scan to enter into the gate upon arrival. I didn't end up needing it as the gate was open when I got there. The winery also requests smart casual attire at the Chateau. I arrived about 15 minutes before my tasting, so I ended up walking around and enjoying the grounds before following the signs to check-in for my wine tasting experience. I booked the Estate Library Tasting ($125) which also came with some cheese, nuts, and a spread. The Chateau is really beautiful with a lot of old-world charm leading to a refined, yet welcoming environment to enjoy wine. My host was very knowledgeable and kind. Of everything I tried, my favorite wine was the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon.”
