“My second visit - this time with my husband. Staff was warm and welcoming and seemed pleased to see me again (didn't realize I had made an impression). The restaurant space is what they call "intimate" and "cozy." But it doesn't feel like it. It's airy and lovely. It's the best place to go with friends, family or romantic partners. Again the staff is so welcoming and warm that you feel like you're visiting a friend's house for dinner. But you're not reading this for anything but the food. We started with the airy and lovely calamari - fried with a side of a balsamic dipping sauce. A lovely focaccia with a delightful olive rich dipping sauce came out also. Just when my husband and I thought we couldn't be happier, our mains came out. I had the cinghiale and my husband went for the seafood risotto. Both were delicious. The risotto is very airy and beautiful. You want hardy - the cinghiale (boar sausage) with thick homemade ribbons of pasta will warm your soul. Desserts were wonderful. I had tiramisu while my husband had the pistachio cake. Both were terrific. Tiramisu is one of those things that can be done meh or great. This was great. Ladyfingers soaked in actual coffee had a nice bite (espresso?) with good dusting of cocoa powder to give it some balance with the tender sweetness of the cream. Plan to come back with a couple of my girl friends in the next couple of weeks. Great place to eat.“
“Every time we come here the food is always excellent! We’re so hungry that I forgot to take pics. The salads are amazing! My favorite app is the shrimp and grits, pizza is very good and so is the pasta! We usually do a family dinner and it never disappoints! Staff is always helpful and on top of it. Get there early, they are always busy!“
“We have gone here many times, the food and service is really great. Today I went and I messed up my reservation by putting the wrong amount of people and they were so nice and accommodating at the front desk as well as our server I believe his name was RP. Always a great experience.“
“I had lunch at this Italian restaurant on a Thursday afternoon with a former business colleague and it was a wonderful experience. We ordered the Grilled Prawns Wrapped with Pancetta appetizer, with the Veal Piccata and the Salmon Nicoise salad as entrees. All of the dishes served were very generous portions. The Grilled Prawns had three very large fresh prawns and was served with a lot of delicious sauteed beans with arugula on top. The dish tasted fantastic. The Veal Piccata was also to die for- served in a rich lemon butter sauce with capers over mashed potatoes and a lot of fresh spinach. Enough to take home for the next day! The Salmon Nicoise salad had an abundance of fresh ingredients and was very tasty. Bread and an olive oil bread dip are served at no charge when seated. We finished off our meal with two traditionally made Cappuccinos that were perfect. Service was also impeccable with exactly the right timing between courses. This restaurant is now on my "return again and again" list! Thank you so much for a great and satisfying meal.“
“Luis and his team are amazing! I come in each week to pay for the weekly Thursday pizza my daughter’s school orders. They are so kind and friendly and are always welcoming. The restaurant is very clean with great New York decorations. I would highly recommend coming here! My daughter, her friends, and all the teachers and staff say how delicious the pizza is.“
“Great birthday celebration dinner. Very good appetizer, calamri, grilled octopus, bruscetta and delicious main dishes, spagetti bolognese, seafood risotto. Creme Brule and napolean for dessert and all served with a smile and attentive service. We will return and highly recommend.“
“Fantastic Chicago "stuffed" deep-dish style pizza. This is the type of pizza with a wheat crust with an extra layer of dough on top of the toppings, typified by Giordano's in Chicago. (Bay Area locals may be familiar with this style at Zachary's in Berkeley.)“
“My favorite restaurant!! Truly I have been blessed to go to great places. Yet this one is my beyond favorite. From food to desserts…incredible!Jesus and Daniel the BEST mixologist ever!! And their professionalism it's impeccable.Highly Recommended! Also approved by the best husband in the world ;)“
“Delicious warm bread to start the meal. Two of us had the lamb chops with a chimichurri sauce they were tender, delicious, and perfectly cooked, one medium and the other medium rare. They were also kind enough to split a Caesar salad for us. My husband had the homemade tagliatelle (recommended by our server), perfectly al dente. We ended our meal with a lava cake, oozing with melted chocolate, my new favorite dessert.“
“Late post from a few weeks ago. Funny enough, even though this place is called the Ravioli House I always find myself ordering a sandwich from there. The pastrami sandwiches are really good and the bread they use is good as well. Sourdough is my ideal match for pastrami but from time to time I'll enjoy the dutch crunch as well. If you want a satisfying sandwich for lunch. I highly recommend this place. Staff is always friendly as well.“
“It's always a pleasure dining at Vespucci! Not only is the food amazing and delicious, Francesco and Manuela are just as wonderful! We do not get to dine there as often since we live in the East Bay, but anytime we have, they are always so warm and welcoming and very invested in building an amazing relationship with us and getting to know us.“
“Found this place to eat by our hotel at the airport in San Francisco last night. Highly recommend everyone to go there if you want a great spot for dinner. Our server Katrina was amazing. She was so attentive and knowledgeable. The food was a combination of all different types of food around Italy. She told us the menu is always changing depending on seasonal ingredients. The wine is all Italian as well and the chef is from northern Italy we were told. The atmosphere was amazing. Great vibe in there and it was packed on a Wednesday night. We loved everything we tried especially the bone marrow, beet salad, tagliatelle, pizza and especially the sheep ricotta doughnuts. I would definitely go back. Probably the best service I have had in Bay Area as well.“
“This is our first time going to the restaurant. They opened right before Covid. And have been in business for a little over four years. It was easy to get a reservation and we had outside dining on the sidewalk with two heaters. The service was great. Our server was fantastic. Our table, ordered chicken, fish, and pasta, and the quality and proportions were extremely fine. Generous portions. And the prices unbeatable. And they took Apple Pay at Table. Definitely will make this a restaurant for us to visit the future.“
“We had our Italian family gathering at La Lanterna on a Sunday afternoon. They opened specially for our event. I had made all the arrangements in advance with Michael, including the menu. The event went off perfectly and flawlessly. The food, from the appetizers to the deserts was outstanding, especially the gnocchi. This restaurant is a perfect place to have a special event! And there is no charge for the room.“
“Came here because it was highly rated and I'm out here on business. I was able to smell this place a block away and it smelled amazing. Got the Cousin Vinny sandwich and it was great, I will definitely be back, when I'm out here for “
“This is my first time visiting Itálico for my birthday! The food is excellent. The service was phenomenal and everyone absolutely delightful. Michael was so attentive and hospitable! He genuinely wanted to get to know my family and I, and was so sweet. Super profesional and kind to all. He made my family feel super welcomed and felt like a queen on my birthday! Our server was also Carlos was absolutely excellent and gave amazing service to us and everyone else!! He was so funny and always made sure we were all good. I recommend everyone try this restaurant! Graziie Mille Michael . -Haydee “
“Ist time here and impressed. Wanted coffee in a real cup and almond croissant and stayed for the ambiance! Italian music playing in the background and a window seat to view the creek. Talk about relaxing ☺️ A lot of locals here so I know they've found a great spot!!!They offer breakfast and lunch, will have to try these another time. Can imagine this spot with the umbrellas on a summer morning. Give it a try ❤️“
“Very quaint spot in a great location! We were taking some friends to the airport and wanted one last hurrah before sending them off. This was a wonderful spot for a celebratory meal. I loved the authentic feel of everything from the waiters and staff to the wine list and menu listings. I will definitely seek this place out when I'm back in the area, I enjoyed this find entirely!“
“One of our favorite family restaurants.I've been going there since my internship in 2010, when my son was a wee baby. Now, it's his favorite, comfort food place as a teen. Our favorites: the Greek wines, horiatiki salad, lamb gyros, cheesy garlic breadFresh foodFamiliar service..Bud, Sophia,. MichaelWe also cater from here once a month“
“We are faithful diners at this local neighborhood cafe . The owner is always so cordial in his greeting of us and the staff always are so courteous and have smiles despite the busy atmosphere of this Valentine's dinner . The dedicated menu for the evening was sufficient to please the diverse palates ( though our friend who received the duck breast choice was a bit displeased because the slices were very thin and small compared to what was usually served to others ) but taste wise he said it was very good . The seabass and the lamb choices were delicious ... no complaints there !! We love this cafe and look forward to returning and ordering from their usual menu ( esp. the squid ink pasta which is a FAVORITE ♥️) I highly recommend this cafe for a dining choice ??“
“Really good food and good price. We ordered a pasta with chicken and Margarita pizza added with prosciutto, yummy.Service was great, Patrick the server.Only observation is the props (plastic grapes, and flowers) on the sealing and in the side of the table, need urgently to be replaced or cleaned, you can see the dust, terrible.Atmosphere is great.Good music like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin…Parking sometimes is not easy to find, it’s free street parking.Pizza is around 17$ to 27$.Pasta is around 20$;Glass of wine 8$;Beers 7$;Brusqueta 9$;We spend 100$ with tips for a portion of busqueta 6, pasta, XL large pizza, glass of wine, apple juice, soda.“
“I don't review restaurants much but I feel compelled to after the quality of the service we received for our dinner at Bellini this week. We'd ordered mushroom ravioli & they forgot to put the mushroom ravioli. We were pretty hungry so didn't care much at the time & enjoyed it (I got the fish special which was pretty good too). While getting the takeout box for leftovers, we pointed out that it was missing mushrooms. On hearing that, the server (owner?) had the kitchen prepare us a full mushroom ravioli. Moreover, we got a full container of soup to go with it! We were blown away by their dedication to leaving the customer satisfied ?“
“Came here as a group of 5 to catch up with some family friends. We split a beet salad and the octopus (the latter was delicious and I don’t even usually like octopus!) In terms of entree, I opted for the porcini and ricotta cappalletti which was on the more Al-dente side. Only ding was the dessert- wasn’t a fan of the ricotta cheesecake.“
“Relatively less veg options, serving size is relatively small for the price charged especially for Bruschetta, other items were ok in taste a bit on bland and too cheesy, but service was decent, main room atmosphere is busy over the weekend, despite having reservation we had to wait a good 15 mins.Vegetarian options: Not much, a couple of standard options, which does not make this place a stand outParking: Free street parking, hard to find near the restaurant, can park in the parking space across the street if after 7 in the eve.“
“There are few foods I enjoy more than a fresh deli sandwich, and I was quite pleased with the sandwiches at Cafe Stellato! Cafe Stellato is a very cute cafe that greets you with a display of fantastic looking gelato (which I will be trying next time I come in!). But there are also a plethora of sandwich options available to those who make their way in toward the back of the cafe. I ordered the Stellato Special with the works, and my partner ordered the Alpino. The combination of turkey, artichoke, and sun dried tomatoes were delicious, and the ingredients all tasted very fresh. When asked, I opted for the spicy calabrese spread, though I was slightly disappointed that there was no real spice to it. My partner thoroughly enjoyed the Alpino as well, and commented multiple times on how tasty the pancetta (Italian bacon) was!Our order was taken very quickly, and the sandwiches were prepared nice and quickly. Everyone working there was friendly and efficient.I will definitely be coming back to eat my way through more of their sandwich menu. And next time, I think I'll be topping it off with some of that great looking gelato!“
“Italian cuisine was excellent with many options, especially pasta. Unfortunately we came when there was 3 very large loud parties which I thought was unusual for a Monday night. You kind of stop talking at your table and try to ignore the noise. Definitely not for a romantic of business meeting dinner.“
“Rocca delivered the perfect romantic dinner for two in a half-round booth. From the divine Gnocchi with Pesto Cream to the generous Ravioli Bolognese, every bite was a delight. And let's not forget the indulgent Chocolate Mousse for dessert. Impeccable service, a cocktail menu to suit both our tastes, and an atmosphere that set the scene for a memorable evening.“
“Smallish, popular Italian restaurant. Bruschetta is not to be missed. Spaghetti is tasty. Lasagna is great. This time I tried a steak - really. And it was really, really good.Parking can be sketchy. Stay is just so very helpful and caring. Highly recommended.“
“Best pizza on this side of the bay! My husband and I have been ordering from Slice House since it opened here and the pizza is always a solid 10. Great flavor, great quality, and the perfect amount of pizza for the price. Service is great too! Staff is always helpful and friendly and the wait time is never too long. The New York style pepperoni and paesano are our faves, definitely stop by if you are in the mood for pizza!“
“The food that I've always considered to be good was actually outstanding. In essence, the only downfall was our service was not as good as usual. It was good, but it's stirred up as a little bumpy. We lack for nothing. The waiters were good about keeping our bread basket full. Our cocktails were superb. The value for your money but today's standards was really good. We will go back soon.“
“Dinner was delish. This place never disappoints. I love the spinach salad with the grilled eggplant and the seafood risotto with wine sane was perfectly cooked. I can't wait to go back! Oh and the warm baked bread that arrives to the table for free is anitger added touch. La Collins is a neighborhood GEM!“
“Due to the rainstorm, I didn't want to go very far for food and opted for the nearby cafe. The Café was open and pretty much empty (understandable because I'm sure most people were working from home instead of trying to drive into work). I ordered the croissant and a banana nut muffin. The muffin, you can request to be warmed which I opted for. The egg, cheese, and bacon croissant was delicious, and I would order again. But I am curious about the other items on their menu, especially when it comes to the latter half of the day. There was a lasagne on there that I'm super curious about.“
“Ordered the Raider sandwich, everything about it was delicious. The chicken was juicy, the produce was super fresh and the tomatoes were a rich red and super flavorful. The garlic sauce was soooo good. Service was great as well, and everyone was really friendly and kind. I was having a rough afternoon and having my lunch here turned my day around completely.“
“This spot is worth the trip. Great service, great atmosphere and the pizza crust is a piece of art. Perfectly soft with some crunch, great flavor, but the real differentiator is the lightness. The lightness means it was cooked absolutely perfectly, tasted like pizza from Florence!“
“This is a great place. I would like to give it 4.5 stars. The food is very good, nice variety of wines and a decent cocktail menu. This restaurant moved from a smaller location but they did a great job with decor and keeping service standards high. It's a little pricey but a reliable north Italian restaurant for a good meal and sharing with Friends and family“
“Best pizza in the bay, if you know you know.I've eaten Totos my whole life. I'm 40. Won't stop won't quit. BEST PIZZA IN THE BAY!Parking: Parking is decent for it's location.Kid-friendliness: Good family restaurant, good memories.“
“Great local restaurant for a casual family brunch or dinner. Located right in the heart of Palo Alto midtown, Mike’s cafe (original) was been locals favorite for a long time. Now with alcohol license added and a new color scheme (red) Mike’s diner is becoming a great bar to grab a drink with old friends!“
“The atmosphere is like a nice coffee shop/cafe but the food quality is excellent! The cafe name and the atmosphere are very deceiving. The food brought back memories of our trip to Florence last year! Pasta is fresh, sauces are rich. Had the amatriciana with a unique pasta shape and my husband had the Bolognese. All so fresh and good. The mussels app - excellent! Fresh and the tomato based sauce they were cooked in absolutely required more bread to soak it all up. Prices were extremely reasonable, very limited wine list but don't let that stop you if you want really good, fresh, reasonably priced pasta. Can't wait to go back. They also sell pastas and sauces for you to make at home.“
“Stayed at 1550 hotel across street and got a to go order of wings & Greek salad. Walked over early and food was ready but wish I ate in. Place had a good vibe and was comfortable with a nice bar to sit at. Saw a pizza come out of the oven that looked amazing-great looking crust!!! Our Zorba wings were hit & fresh with a tasty sauce. If I’m in this area I’m coming back.“
“I don’t know why this restaurant doesn’t have a line outside the door! The food is always delicious and fresh. The menu is small but PERFECT. They change things up slightly seasonally and I’ve never eaten anything there that wasn’t 10/10.“
“At the beginning of the month, we celebrated a friend's b day here & it was an experience I will never forget. I love the casual upscale atmosphere with friendly staff & wonderful food. The polenta some creamy & some of the best I have ever had; this was an appetizer in the multicourse dinner. The frittata was wonderful with fresh vegetables & cheese. The ravioli was aldentae with a wonderful beef filling & zesty marinera sauce. The antipasti was wonderful with olives, salami, & a wonderful assortment of cheeses & bread. My prime rib was wonderful; a little dry, but tender for the most part with freshly sauted green beans. For dessert, our cake was wonderful. I rounded it off with a Peroni & some red wine. Everyone in our party loved everything. The Italian music in the background & piano polayer were both divine. We enjoyed some dancing to some popular songs. It was definitely a night I will never forget & will have to come in for lunch. Keep up the good work guys.“
“I recently tried the Hawaiian pizza at Mr Pizza Man in San Mateo, and it was absolutely delightful! The combination of sweet pineapple, savory ham, and melted cheese created a perfect balance of flavors. The crust was just the right amount of crispy, and the overall quality of the pizza exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend the Hawaiian pizza at Mr Pizza Man for anyone craving a delicious and satisfying pizza experience. It's definitely worth a try!“
“Our experience here was wonderful! Excellent food, the most delicious and addictive bread service, and amazing service. The waiters and bus boys were very kind and accommodating. This is the type of service I expect from restaurants, that I don’t see often in the Bay Area, but this was a great experience and we will be back! Special thanks to Will, he was great.“
“I’ve only ordered delivery (free with min purchase) every time the rotisserie chicken is always juicy even the white meat, pizza is good - tried both gluten free and regular, lasagna is very tasty. Quality of the food has consistently been very good.“
“Casual pizza, pasta, burger, and entree restaurant in small strip mall near the Hayward distribution centers. Ordered a personal pizza, very fresh ingredients, high quality, mozzarella cheese with nice choice of sauce and toppings. Excellent tasting and value. Highly recommend for generous portion, tasty, easonable price, and fresh ingredients.“
“Fun evening spent eating a great Neapolitan pizza dinner at a buzzy casual wonderful place called Terún (apparently a favorite haunt of Bezos and Zuckerberg, among others but then where isn’t a favourite of someone famous here). Pizza was to die for! All washed down with one of our favorite wines, Etna Rosso. We got into a great lengthy conversation about food and gardening and Italy with one of the charming young and very handsome owners, Guiseppe. He gave us a special plate of dried sweet Calabrian chiles and taleggio cheese for an after dinner snack, gave us his recipe for cooking chicken livers, a complimentary limoncello and sent us home with a box of chiles. Very relaxing and fun and highly recommended.“
“A surprise to say the least. Being from the East coast, specifically Philly/NYC I am very critical of pizza. The pizza options were many and all delicious. Yes, I said all! Being able to attend a small family party I was given the chance to try many types of pizza as well as the wings and the Caesar salad. The dough was very light, crispy and a nice fresh flavor, tomato sauce was mildly sweet, with a good amount of tomato chunks. The cheese on several was better than most, but still had more oil than what I like. Pepperonis were small, but plentiful with great flavor. The prosciutto and Arugula topped pizza was my favorite and the biggest hit at the affair. I would rank this place as better than most and can easily stand up against East Coast pizza. The meatballs lacked consistency in taste as well as being held together with breadcrumbs and egg if the made them that way. Don’t get me wrong, the meatballs were good, just not what I want to see in a meatball.Lucky if you live in Burlingame as this place would be on my frequent short list of places to eat.“
“Had an early morning appointment nearby and was an hour early. Stopped here for breakfast sandwich and most importantly my cappuccino.Cappuccinno was done just right. Sandwich was good and service fast. Had the Portola Valley Special (egg, artichoke, tomato cheese).Inside seating was available.“
“This is a pretty good sandwich shop but goodness every time we come here it's EXTREMELY SLOW! You can wait upwards of 30+ minutes for sandwiches. We even went at what I thought was an off hour (around 2pm on a Sunday) and we still waited 20-30 minutes for two sandwiches.I did enjoy my sandwich last time though - turkey, lettuce, tomato, mayo on Dutch crunch bread. Bread didn't cut up my mouth or break my teeth (a problem I've had with some other Dutch crunch bread at some places)... ingredients tasted fresh and overall sure I'd come back but not if I'm in a hurry.“
“Food was good, but the biggest downer was the lasagna. Tasted great, but came out cold. I get that it's not made to order, but this was room temperature or lower. A bit unappetizing, and disappointing since it was a cold day and I was looking forward to a nice hot meal. Place was quite, but it was a Tuesday, so easy to have a conversation. Next time I would send the lasagna back to be reheated -“
