No doubt, Ike's is a top-tier sandwich spot in San Diego. I've been to very few places that have the creativity AND quality of Ike's. The tribute to local SD legends in the sandwich names and the out-of-the-box thinking on ingredients in certain sandwiches is more than clever. I’m giving this 3 stars without tasting the food and not because of bad service, but as a way to alert future halal seeking customers that this place does not serve authentic halal food. I was a bit disappointed to learn that although they have halal chicken they also serve it alongside pork products. So the level of cleanliness can not be established. My friend and I picked up sandwiches to go before one of the sporting events. I ordered the Menage A Trois (Halal Chicken, BBQ, Honey Mustard, Real Honey, Swiss, Pepper Jack, Cheddar). My friend and I split onion rings and mozzarella sticks. They only gave 4 mozz sticks and they were like half baked, not crispy at all or gooey. The onion rings and ranch were good but the sandwich was bomb af. The sandwich was really nice as well.
