The Fishery is not to be missed if you are headed to San Diego. The wait staff was attentive and adept at recommending both wine and some fabulous dishes. From appetizers to dessert, the Fishery was first-rate. Absolutely delicious!
The Fishery consistently ranks as one of the TOP seafood restaurants in San Diego. Their fish is always fresh and tasty. Top of the list on their menu is the Macadamia Crusted Alaska Halibut, surrounded by a creme fraiche butter. If you don't feel that's the best dish you've ever had, anywhere on the planet, send me the bill and I'll reimburse you. No, really! I've never lied to you before and I'm not lying to you now.
The seafood is excellent here. I'd recommend all of the appetizers and the patio is very nice. I look forward to visiting again soon. They supply seafood to some of the top seafood restaurants in San Diego, so that is why it is excellent.
I went with a girlfriend for dinner. We had the gold spotted sand bass, calamari as an app, and shared the lemon tart for dessert. We each had a martini and two glasses of wine all totaling around $175. It was worth every penny. Our waiter was fantastic, the atmosphere friendly, and the seafood SO fresh - you cannot beat it!! We spent about 2.5 hours here on a Saturday evening. The martinis are very good, and I highly, highly recommend the Pullus 17 white wine from Slovenia for dinner.
We love The Fishery and have been tons of times over the years. The food is always very good. The fish is always fresh. Even in Covid, the atmosphere was lively. In the past, The Fishery has been a beer and wine restaurant. They should have stuck to that format. Our waitress described a bourbon centric cocktail that sounded delicious. So, two of us eagerly ordered it. It was the most sickening sweet concoction that I have ever had. And, I have had a bunch of craft cocktails and sickening sweet concoctions. We tried to cut the sweetness down with a shot of bourbon. But, it was still almost undrinkable. This was a classic case of stick with what you know. Beer and wine pairs really well with their menu.
Excellent specialty Cocktails. We tried three and they were all very tasty. The Food is so good and I savored every bite to enjoy the flavor of spices and Herbs in perfect combination. Our Waiter was so knowledgeable regarding the Menu and Wine list. A must have is the Homemade Tumeric Icecream. It is the Best!
When we walked in I smelled ? which made me worry about the freshness of the food. After eating, I have no issues with freshness. Sea bass ceiviche, crab cakes, seared tuna and halibut fish and chips were all tasty. Wine list by the glass is limited but have several local beers on tap.
First the good: comfortable, friendly atmosphere, very efficient and congenial server, delicious steamed clams in a wonderful garlic, butter and wine broth. I would go back just for the clams. It was half price wine night which was a big plus. Now the bad: my husband’s halibut came in pieces and was way overdone even though he had requested it lightly grilled. Our main courses arrived at the table while we were in the middle of our first courses. Our assumption is that the kitchen set out the halibut too soon and it sat under the heat lamps too long. Service is fast here, in the case of our meal, it was a bit too fast.
Looking for a seafood restaurant we came here after some difficulty in finding it. Parking was on the street and a bit difficult. The restaurant was crowded but we were seated fairly quickly. The service was ordinary. The food very good. The seared rare albacore was excellent and a good sized portion.
This was our second visit to The Fishery in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego. Be aware of limited parking nearby. Even so, we managed to get a close parking spot for both visits. The fish here is truly fresh and wonderful. On this visit my companion and I split the ahi tuna poke appetizer. This was a great poke dish with wonderful flavor. Our friends split a snow crab roll, which is a sushi style appetizer. They generally do not eat sushi, but they absolutely loved this dish. For the main courses my companion and I both ordered the Pacific swordfish prepared with corn and avocado relish and fresh plum sauce. Delicious. Our friends ordered the California king salmon and the macadamia crusted Alaskan halibut. They loved both dishes. I had the halibut on a previous visit and I agree it is an outstanding preparation. We were too full for dessert, but we will be back yet again. By the way, the staff is exceptionally friendly, pleasant and helpful.

We had our first dinner in PB here. The food was delicious! I had a taco trio and each taco was different but all were amazing. Our waiter was attentive and we all really enjoyed our evening. We ate outside and would definitely return.
We went based on the comments in Trip Advisor and they were absolutely correct! Nice selection, nice ambiance and very tasty food. Some items were particularly creative and enjoyable! There were 7 of us and everyone was happy - tuna tostadas, sea bass ceviche, clam chowder, etc! We recommend it!!
More upscale than most Pacific Beach restaurants. Actually sort of North Pacific Beach. Great fish with other meat and Veggie options as well. We have eaten there a dozen or more times over the last ten years and it is always pleasant and friendly. It is walking distance (5-10 minutes) from our son's home and always a pleasant outing. I had their King Salmon last time and it was fresh and excellent.
