Looking for a spot for birthday dinner. Had not been here since it opened many years ago. What a wonderful surprise. Not too busy the Wednesday night we went. Very friendly staff. We had the calamari appetizer and it was so light and crunchy and no heavy oil flavor. Aioli and pasta sauce for dipping were tasty. My husband ordered the pork chops and I had the shrimp linguini. We both had the Caesar salad. Portion was good and dressing was yummy with true flavor of anchovies but not overpowering. Fresh baked rolls were so soft and fragrant. The pork chops were big and some of the most tender and moist I have ever had. The linguini had a garlic, butter sauce that was amazing with large sweet shrimp. And of course since it was my birthday I had to have dessert. Our waitress recommended the zeppole. A huge plate of warm, sugar coated fried donuts, so good. We will definitely be back again.

Awesome pizza. Been going here since I was a kid and they were on the Ranch near the shade tree.

Ordered take out through Doordash & everything was made & delivered in a timely manner. I ordered a serving of lasagna that came with a side salad for $20+ dollars, along with a side of garlic bread. The lasagna came with two dinner rolls but was definitely over-priced considering the portion size. It was also very salty. The caesar salad that it came with was also salty since it was drenched in dressing. I wish they would have served the dressing on the side since the croutons were soggy from it being pre-mixed. The garlic bread however was probably the best tasting out of everything. Overall, I wasn't too impressed by the taste of my meal.

A good pizza with very good coverage of toppings. The sauce doesn't quite have the zest of the original Pernicano's, but still an above average pizza.

Hearty, flavorful Italian dishes. The parmasean is amazing. I've thoroughly enjoyed the Bolognese sauce on spaghetti, the lasagna and ravioli. Never had a meal that was disappointing. I'm so glad they have made it through the pandemic insanity and still serving great food.

This restaurant is a gem of San Diego. It was the highlight of my entire visit to SD. Pernicano's has gotten it right: ambience, view, food, and wine. The food here was breathtaking. I cannot overemphasize how delicious every morsel of food was at this restaurant. Calamari: - Fresh, lightly battered, and filled with flavor! We ordered three calamaris for a table of 8 people because we all enjoyed it so much that sharing it became just down right difficult. Seafood Stuffed Salmon: - My fiancée ordered this salmon special and I may or may not have had multiple bites of her dish. This special was one sent directly from the food heavens! My fiancée ordered her salmon cooked well done, but it wasn't over cooked and the stuffed crab and lobster took it all to another level. Tiger Diablo Linguine - I ordered the linguine and the butter & garlic sauce was simply delicious. The shrimp were well seasoned and everything blended so well. One of our friends ordered the lobster ravioli. I tasted one of his raviolis and I must say, the next time I return to San Diego, that's what I will order! The service at Pernicano's was amazing. We had the entire outside seating area to ourselves and we were able to enjoy a nice sunset over a beautiful dinner with friends. This place is one you wouldn't want to miss. I'll be back soon Pernicano!!!

Decent family style Italian. Ambience - strip mall italian. Seemed to have lots of locals coming in that knew the staff. Social distanced tables made the place look rather sparse. Service - attentive as they could be. There were 2 servers that seemed to be working flat out. They needed a third for the rush. Food - good. We had mozzarella triangles with marinara, chicken parmigiana, Mediterranean penne. Entrees came with a salad - Sicilian and Caesar. Mozzarella triangles were nice and light, marinara was fresh and light. Sicilian salad was very tasty. Chicken parmigiana was good but nothing special. Penne was good but a bit over seasoned (too salty) for my taste. Overall - decent, family Italian. If I lived in San Diego, I'd go back. There were a number of other dishes on the menu that I would like to try.

Came for the pizza. Having never tried their pasta, can't attest to anything there. As far as the pizza goes, it was very mediocre. I'd imagine most people coming here aren't coming for the pizza. Crust was bland and dry, no chew to it whatsoever. Toppings didn't seem very fresh. Very overpriced for what we received. Customer service was ok although the ambience was a little stale.

WOW!!!! OMG!!! This place is a hidden gem. It is the best, absolutely the best, Italian food in San Diego. From beginning to end the food... I don't have the words to express how good this is.

I wish I would’ve taken a picture, but the food was so good I couldn’t be bothered to even look at my phone! I had the calamari, small Caesar salad, chicken parm w/ pasta and marinara this evening. IT WAS SO DANG DELICIOUS!! Every bit, from the garlic on the roll, the perfectly dressed salad and MOST of all...The marinara was so good I had to resist getting up and smacking everyone in the restaurant. Recommend calling ahead for reservations for groups of 3 or more. A cozy well decorated space to match. I will be recommending this place to all my friends and bringing family!
