Fantastic place to eat. Great service, cozy ambiance. Will definitely come again.Parking wasn't the greatest though so budget arrival time for your reservation accordingly.Parking: At least it's free parking after 1800. Still hard to find a parking spot though.

Food, service, and ambiance was amazing. The Chef/owner Luciano personally came out to greet us and thanked us for coming. Hospitality was off the charts, and food was bomb bomb. Fresh local ingredients and live music is a nice touch.

Everything about this restaurant is fabulous! Please go if you have not been. we were on the bar side which was very lively and had beautiful music. The restaurant side looked lovely as well. However, we did not dine on that side. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, and the chef came out to speak to us as well. Definitely recommend and we will be back to try the beef Wellington!

It was a wonderful evening with friends, incredible food, and incredible service. They made us feel at home. I appreciated the Chef coming out and saying hi. Jake made excellent suggestions and was very attentive. I will be back!

The food here is reliably excellent across the board. Standouts for us were the flatbread and eggplant parm. But it's hard to go wrong. They have some nice Italian wines on their list as well. My only criticism is that the noise level is very high when it's busy in the dining room. But it's certainly lively!

Food was fabulous. The chef came to our table & asked about our meal which was very kind. I think our server was the only 1 in our area & they got distracted or busy with other tables so we had to ask for things a few times. No harm no foul. They were very nice. Would eat there again.

Excellent dining experience at the Red Door. All our meals were superb and delicious. Our server was excellent and offered great advice. Luciano visited us and was really nice to chat with. Another fine meal at The Red Door!

This is a hidden gem and would say it's my favorite restaurant in San Diego. The food is beyond spectacular! If they have the squash blossoms on special- they are a must! Meatballs are out of this world and pasta is always al dente. Nice touch When the comes out to your table. Reasonably priced!

First of all the service is very good. Food is also delicious and you can tell ingredients are fresh and quality because even though we ordered several cheesy plates, we didn't feel uncomfortably full nor bothered, just greatly satisfied to have had a great dinner. Desserts are incredible and I'd totally trust the waiter reccomendation!

Server Ryan was extremely attentive and well-informed re: menu and specials. Food was great - especially loved the snapper. The Sinatra singer/sax player in the bar was absolutely delightful. Look forward to our next visit.

The strawberry vinagrette salad dressing was very sour. I was expecting it be slightly sweet and there wasn't enough strawberries in the salad. The lasagna was good but not the best I've had. I didn't like that it had so much sauce. It would have been nice to have some bread with the meal.

I've dined at the Red Door a dozen times or so in the last 3 years. The food overall is good, though it is considerably overpriced. Weekends tend to be noisy. The staff overall is competent, but last eve my two friends (one of whom was fresh out of the hospital) and I had the misfortune of getting Ryan, a rude, petulant, impatient young waiter, who treated all of us unprofessionally and unkindly, especially our just-out-of-the-hospital friend who was taking a while to order. I complained to the manager about Ryan, but I'm not sure to what effect. His nasty behavior was enough to ruin our evening.

I normally give this place 5 stars, but two things happened that brought my rating down: (1) It was cold in the inside seating. The three women next to us asked the waiter to do something. He shut the front door, and then turned up the heater a bit. But the owner said he wanted the front door to stay wide open. Bad on you, owner. The customer comes first. (2) Prices, especially on their signature disk, the Beef Wellington, have gotten out of hand. $58? Really? It will limit my return trips. Decor hasn't changed in years. Ambience? Well, at least the muzak was good. But with places like Anime around, I doubt if I will come here again for awhile. Cheers!
