Well now this place is a real treat. I am from the south and their take on southern specialties was a delight and exceptionally well executed. Deviled eggs were perfect. The Risotto was a pleasure to eat and my favorite dish was the drunken goat cheese Macaroni. I could have eaten it until I fell asleep at the table. They have a fine selection of beers and wine. Service was top class and I never felt like I was waiting for the next course. Worth a visit for sure. I will be back....read full review
This is a hidden gem for sure, food is reliable and good, service attentive, it's not pretentious. So this place might be like your kitchen or your home cooking . All things equal I like this place for it's genuine approach to home cooked dishes.

I hadn't been back to Blue Plate in years, and am so glad I returned! It was as amazing as always - service, vibe, food. I had just returned from Brooklyn and was lamenting “why don't we have cozy, cool neighborhood restaurants like they have in San Francisco?” which is what prompted me to wander into Blue Plate again. Williamsburg and Greenpoint, eat your heart out!
