This place is located right on Pier 39. Park in the structure rather than the street. Car break-in are high jn this area.Expect to wait in line on weekends. Bread bowl clam chowder was good. Sodas had free refill but not for coffee. Staff were helpful. Limited indoor dining. It's not good for groups. Outdoor dining is also available.Parking: Avoid parking in the streets. Park in the structure to avoid break-ins.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly environment.
Chowders is in a prime location around Pier 39 surrounded by many food spots and stores! I ordered the shrimp and crab sandwich. There was nothing bad about it, but it didn't impress me. I'm a big crab salad sandwich person when it comes to San Francisco, however, if you are too, I would recommend the stalls near Fisherman's Wharf over these. Nonetheless, the service was really good, and I loved there was ample seating both inside and outside even with the weekend crowds.

Great deep fried fish and chips. They use whole battered fillets instead of inferior chopped patties. I've also had their chowder in a bread bowl and that's also excellent. You can't go wrong eating here. Do recommend.
