Went there this weekend with family. Great ravioli and meatballs. Bought some sausage to go. Met Mr. Chiramonte and talked about his Grandfather and the history of the shop. Going back.
Wasn't sure what to expect but was really pleased with the meatball sandwich. Very moist, well seasoned, appropriate amount of tart marinara, nice soft fresh bread -- and less than $10 (I think $8 if I recall correctly). Split one with my husband but we were fighting over it at the end. We also got some long links of chorizo that look very promising for a very good price. Quaint Historical Deli. We read about it in a book about the history of Italian’s in San Jose. We ordered a meatball sandwich and a 1908 Garlic Sausage sandwich. Both were delicious. The guy at the counter was very friendly and helpful.
