It was the night after the super-bowl. Darn it, the niners didn’t quite win! But I still felt proud to eat an Ike’s “The 49er” sandwich!Rob was making sandwiches that night, and he did a great job. My friends had a “Madison Bumgarner” and a “Sometimes I’m a vegetarian”, and all of our sandwiches were delicious!
I firmly believe that outside of the VERY FEW italian delis in the bay area that could serve you a Godfather style (cured meats, salad with oil/vinegar) sandwich. We were eating dogfood with sticks and leaves, in the stone age. Ike S took something we all take for granted and eat with zero love or care for ingredients. Huge sandwiches stuffed with interesting combinations. Can’t go wrong here. Ménage a Trois is my go to with Beast mode being my “treat yourself” option every once in a while. It’s tucked away in a quieter part of Santana Row. Glad to have them around as a good lunch option.
