Restaurantji presents San Marcos' standout Mexican dining destinations.
“This is our weekly spot for getting together with family and eating GREAT Mexican food. LOVE the atmosphere as well as the cuisine.Parking: Parking lot is quite large and has spots on all 4 sides of building. Due to the large lot it's very easy to find a parking spot even on an extremely busy day. Give them a try you won't be disappointed!Kid-friendliness: Kid menu & outdoor patio“
“Excellent customer service! This restaurant is very clean, great atmosphere ! Martin and crew were so friendly, welcoming, and warm. . My husband and I were so impressed. The tortas were delicious and fresh ingredients. Martin educated us about the menu, and different tortas to try. Thank you guys! We Will be back!“
“Oh yum! It's a food truck behind Costco. My tile guy told me to go here when we first moved back to CA. I was skeptical, but off we went. So good. The birria tacos are loaded with meat. My daughter and hubby love the mulitas. We like to get two sampler platters, and it's a ton of food for the 4 of us. Yes, the tacos are that big. Get your order to go, and be comfy and full at home.“
“Stopped at this food truck on our way home for a late lunch. My son ordered the 3 Quesabirria Tacos while I ordered the Loaded Fries with Adobada; all to go. The customer service was friendly, their recommendation to order the fries with adobada was welcome, their prices were reasonable, and the food finished quickly. I tried the quesabirria tacos, they were very tasty, and the consumée was nice. My son loved it. The Adobada was DELICIOUS! I'll go back there again for anything with that in it. My only mild complaint is that I asked for crispy fries and they weren't especially crispy, but that won't stop us from eating there again.“
“I drive 20 minutes for this food, it's so good and the portion sizes get 3 meals out of a medium order of fries. We had a place like this back in San Diego so we were happy to find this one. The staff is always super friendly too.Kid-friendliness: My kid is basic so their quesadilla is perfect for him and they have aguas and soda available.“
“First burrito was amazing. I got a little annoyed afterwards because they kept cancelling my order without reason. Whatever...I had it a few times afterwards. I order the same thing every time. Carne asada burrito. No beans. I'd say it's better than average. I'm still searching for the perfect burrito.“
“Amazing food here, the Adobada is off the charts, it's crispy, savory, spicy, and filling. Get it in a quesadilla and you'll have a wonderful, simple meal that makes you want more. I used to come here back in college and would grab some Adobada tacos or quesadillas before heading to Astronomy class. Great memories, and the staff here are so nice.“
“This is the place to go for authentic Mexican food. If you're craving a burrito, I recommend the California Burrito; it is to die for! As always, you can't go wrong with an order of rolled tacos. So yummy!!! And the wait is never long. They have a drive thru that looks like a train. So silly and memorable. Most people take their food to go because there isn't that much seating inside. Don't let that deter you from trying this restaurant out. If you go, you won't regret it.“
“My wife and I just visited this restaurant night before last. Owners are very nice and will actually stop and talk with you. Very clean inside. If you want salsa and chips you must ask. And they do have a better fresh 3 varieties. Just ask. No charge. Food was good but serving was small compared to other competitors. We WILL be going back . We enjoyed it. It's not served heat hot, but they do have hot sauce to satisfy your pallet. Give it a try.“
“This place has totally transformed and they serve really great food (the food has always been amazing but the ambiance is event better now)! We’ve had salads, corn, wings, burgers and sandwiches! We’ve brought our kids during the day, and it’s totally kid friendly. The owner, Pete, has been wonderful to us…we’ll keep on going for sure!“
“Step into Chile Tacos and Beer for a tantalizing journey through authentic Mexican cuisine. I recently indulged in their California burrito, priced at $14, and was thoroughly impressed. Despite the calm ambiance, the flavors spoke volumes.Nestled within the warm embrace of the tortilla, each bite of the California burrito was a harmonious blend of savory ingredients. The tender meat, perfectly seasoned, danced with the creamy richness of the avocado and melted cheese. Every mouthful was a celebration of Mexican culinary prowess. Moreover, the relaxed atmosphere of Chile Tacos and Beer provided the perfect backdrop for savoring every morsel. With attentive service and ample space, diners can enjoy their meals without feeling rushed. In conclusion, Chile Tacos and Beer offers a delightful culinary experience that beckons aficionados of Mexican cuisine. For $14, the California burrito delivers on taste and quality, making it a must-try for anyone craving authentic flavors. Whether you’re a connoisseur or new to Mexican fare, this establishment promises a memorable dining adventure.( written by chat gpt )“
“Just finished trying this place. Unfortunately there was way too much salt in both my ceviches. I know the potential for this place so I assume it was just a mistake from how much salt was added. I wasn't able to finish my ceviches but I'll be happy to try again next time. Just careful with the salt! Thanks.“
“Campechana is fresh and tasty. Onions, avocados, cucumbers, fresh tomatoes, mixing with shrimps, octopus, and scallops, I can enjoy every bite of different ingredients from each spoonful. Color likes Frida's painting, rich and bright, and brings a desire from your taste buds. Quesa Burris Taco is also a wonderful dish, though oily. Taken a waitress suggestion, ordered the one with cheese. The cheese smoothes the sharpness from short rib seasonings and juiciness. Overall, it is a wonderful experience of Mexicana cuisine.“
“This is one of the taco places that we visit which is close to where we stay and also it is on the way to my daughter’s school. It is located in a good prime location and the tacos here super tasty. Would definitely recommend shrimp tacos, veggie tacos and also shrimp fajitas which is the best on their menu!! Staff is super super friendly. A regulat eatery that we visit and will keep visiting!! ☺️☺️“
“Once I discovered this place I fell in love with their food. I visit this location weekly and every time I’m always greeted and my order is always correct. One time I did get the wrong burrito but the team here was so quick to fix it while I was still in the store and send me on my way without having to wait longer for the correct burrito.Thank you.“
“The food is authentic, service is wonderful! The inside could use a little revamping but whatever. Only giving them 4 stars because they stopped making their AMAZING crema chipotle chicken ???. Second best option is the mole chicken!Parking: Parking can be a little tricky, may have to park on the hotel side.“
“My husband and I were staying across the street at the Marriott & he sent me to go get a mixed burrito. When I told the cashier what I wanted, he went to the kitchen & asked the cook to come talk to me. The cook told me mixed burritos aren't on their menu because they didn't have shredded beef but that he would be happy to make a special mixed burrito however I wanted it. I told him to surprise me. It was delicious! He made it with carne asada meat, cheese, beans, rice, sour cream, guacamole & green sauce. Even better than the food was the super nice, friendly cook who provided me with awesome customer service which showed me that he values & appreciates their customers.“
“They have a very small bar, but it's nice and cozy. Good for catching a drink after work. I used to come here for taco Tuesdays, because it was a fantastic deal. Last time a went though (9/12/2023) the tacos were barely filled with anything. However, I'll still continue to go because the quality of food is excellent. It's been a huge struggle to find food with any seasoning up here in North county, so this place stands out wonderfully.Parking: Has a shared parking lot. The spaces are very narrow and it's difficult to pull in and out of the spots. The customers are local though, so everyone works together to make it work.“
“Last Saturday my wife and I decided to make a Manicotti recipe that she had not made in years. I went to Stater's to get Ricotta and overheard one of the cashiers telling another customer about "Los Cabos" Mexican Restaurant... near us... but we had never tried or even heard about. So Sunday we went there to give it a shot. I think we have a new "Go-To". The menu is incredible... service excellent and prices unbelievable. I had the best "Carnitas" I have had in years. Sides of Refried Beans, Rice, Pico de gallo and Guacamole were outstanding. We can't wait to go back!“
“Visiting a friend in the area and got some food to eat at home. I took a bite when I got in the car and I couldn't stop eating 100% recommend this place and it's been good for YEARS. Check them out (I got the mariachi burrito from them suggesting it & it was great)“
“Was visiting from L.A and stumbled across this spot. According to my wife it was "the best burrito" she has ever eaten. We ordered carne asada burritos and they were absolutely delicious. From the sauce to the meat to the tortilla, everything was bomb! Love how this place aint stingy with meat! If we ever visit this area again we are definitely stopping by to eat here.“
“First time here after I kept seeing it on FB as a must go to. I’d probably go back. The flan was 5/5 alone! I really liked that. The chicken was fresh, moist and good. 4/5. Price is reasonable. 5/5. Beans were good. Salsa idk wasn’t a big fan. The rice was the disappointment from the entire purchase. 2/5 based on the amount you get and the visual but no flavor. Tortillas were good too not sure if handmade but 3 per pack is a good amount and size. The service 10/5, the girl at the register is bilingual and very nice. She’s also patient while I was trying to figure out what I was going to order.“
“I’ve seen negative reviews about the food being cold. I ordered a California burrito, and while the cheese was not fully melted, the tortilla and meat were perfectly cooked. I actually prefer this style of making burritos, and I enjoyed all of their salsas. I will definitely be “
“The torta is excellent. The pollo asado has great flavor. I really enjoyed the rice and beans as well. It’s a cozy hole in the wall spot that is putting love into their food. Will be returning, especially since it’s within walking distance to my house! I gave it 5 stars across the board because it’s hitting the marks for what you’d want from a local taco shop.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs, plenty of space for a wheelchair, and accessible from sidewalk that has curb cuts.“
