I got in the habit of walking from my house to Cabrillo Beach. One day I was on my way and I smelt the most amazing aroma. I wanted to stop right there but I needed to finish my walk. I came back and ordered the rib plate and cornbread. Well I deserved it after my walk and all. BBQ, real BBQ is all about the meat. Whiskey Flats doesn't disappoint. Was just driving by and seen this place and oh the smell of BBQ had us stop and try it out. Interesting spot with outdoor seating. The employees are very friendly and cool. We opted to get 2 meats and sides to go. Of course we wanted to sample it before leaving. The brisket and pull pork were easy to just pull apart and were delicious. Ribs have plenty of meat, but to my taste a bit dry and chewy. I like more tender and more moisture ribs meat. Salads were good and fresh, but really small. Staff was friendly. OK for one time, but won’t drive here specially for ribs for $30+…pricy… Other restaurants offer more and better for the same price.
