Excellent Funk Zone Burger! You can tell that quality ingredients are used as one would expect from this well-known Santa Barbara family. Burger was cooked perfectly with tasty cheddar, served on a toasted brioche bun . Also had fries and a beer. Nice relaxed place to get a burger. I’ve purchased (excellent) meat from their butcher shop, this was my first time eating at the restaurant in this location. I’ll definitely return.Support small business, shop local!

The tri tip sandwich was tasty, but the side of corn was really bland. It tastes like boiled corn without the street corn flavor. It was topped with some cotija cheese and chili, but it didn't seem to add any flavor to it. I think it might have been missing the mayo spread component? I added some of the garlic aioli from my fries and that helped it a bit. I wouldn't get it again for $8.50 for a tiny cup. I'm just glad I didn't invest in the full portion! The broccoli salad was really delicious and flavorful. I also loved that they provided blankets because it was super cold that night.Service was friendly but they kept forgetting to bring the things we asked for like BBQ sauce, forks (our table jar was out of forks), etc.The nachos looked tempting but they use real cheese vs that fake nacho cheese sauce that I love haha. If they ever get the sauce, I'm all about it ?

Excellent! Best fries I've had in a long time. So crispy! The kale salad was absolutely delicious, too!

40 dollar needled small tri tip, not a butcher place, more like a montecito, mesa, Los Angeles tourist money grab. Cut many local ties. I will not go here.

Large outdoor space for food and drinks; be advised there is no indoor seating. Known locally for their butcher shop, the tri-tip sandwiches are great and there’s even a butcher shop on site to purchase various meats. There’s a selection of “bar food” including wings, nachos, etc. Frankly I didn’t find any of this bar food to be very good during my visit. The fried items were excessively heavy and a bit overcooked with an unpleasant aftertaste, almost as if too much time had passed since the fryer oil had been changed. The nachos were also unnecessarily heavy, completely drowning and cheese and toppings making the dish oily tasting. The drink menu is interesting here as it includes liquor but they don’t have a full bar. For example, if you order a whiskey soda they’ll hand you a shot of whiskey and ask you which bottle of soda do you want. Fine by me but not exactly what I was expecting. They have some other premix drinks here, along with regular beer and wine.Overall this is a good place to meet with friends or larger parties since they have the space. I recommend sticking with the beer and wine along with what Shalhoob is known for: their butcher meat dishes.Parking: Being the fun song, parking can be difficult at times. Most of the parking in the immediate area is free of charge but it’s limited to finding a space nearby can be tough on busy days.

Exceptional tri-tip sandwich - so good I got extra to bring home to my parents. Also the street corn was beyond - incredible combination of flavors - will def go back! And loved the nice outdoor seating area on a quiet street with view of the SB

Service needs big time improvement, hostess but specially cashier girls are in LaLaLand most of the time and they mess up orders. Happened 3 of the 4 times I have been there.

Took a party of 3 to Shalhoob's patio for some outdoor seating and late lunch on a Sunday. They were out of traditional tables but we were able to sit at barrels converted to be tables. Not super comfortable, but functional. The tri tip was tender and delicious. The burgers were great. Beer on tap was pretty good too. It isn't exactly full service, but, they bring the food to you and there's plenty of shade on the patio. Definitely recommend.

Nice, laid back place. You seat yourself and order at the counter. They have EXCELLENT happy hour deals from Monday-Wednesday 3-9pm. And power hour deals Friday and Saturday from 8-9pm.Let's talk about food! The street corn off the cob (esquites) was delicious and well balanced with tang of lime and chili pepper. The macaroni is really tasty, a nice mild cheesey mac. I had the bacon jam burger which was really tasty. Honestly, any of the food you get here is really good. We Didn't order any BBQ, this recent visit, however we did our last time. And the ribs are truly tender and well seasoned. Just really tastyfood in general! I recommend it!

Everything here is great except the hidden fees on the menu. Order a beer. Pay 1$ fee. Order anything and you pay $1 fee that’s used as tips for the back of house employees. They claim it is illegal to pool tips and share among back of house employees but this is a false claim as mandatory tip pooling is legal in California. This is a shady business tactic to hide fees at the bottom of the menu.

Dont recommend the special which was burnt ends and fries. To much work for so little meat gave our jaws a workout. We also ordered 1/4# tri tip and street corn which were absolutely delicious. Will be back to try some more.
